Situation:
I have recently flashed the modaco r5 for hero 2.1. I noticed that my GPS was not working, but it has always been a bit iffy. Doing some research I read that I needed the Mobile Network (use phone for data connection when WIfi is unavailable) checked. Without turning on wifi, my GPS worked excellently, fixed to 8 satellites in a second.
Problem:
I turned on my wifi, but b/c of the Mobile Network option, I think it switches to Wifi as its primary data source and neglects the GPS. So the GPS does not work until I turned off the wifi.
Question:
I know people usually don't use GPS and Wifi together, but is there a way to get them both working together?
Thanks everyone and much appreciated!
Hello, I installed a cab that keeps wifi connection on even when the HD2 is in standby mode. So when I am home I have wifi on, but that messes with direct push. Apparently when the HD2 goes to standby, after a while it automatically disables the data connection (gprs,3g etc.) because wifi is on. direct push does not work over wifi, so after this it doesn't work at all... Is there any known solution?
Thanks in advance.
Why do you say direct push doesn't work over wifi? activesync works over wifi and I expect direct push to work also.
Has anyone tried this on the Atrix, I saw that pdanet supports BT tethering but does the Atrix itself have the BT DUN functionality, i'm at work right now and can't test it but would like to know if anyone else has, cuz wifi tethering tends to eat up battery faster.
if you check int he config files it does, have it but its turned off, you can manually turn it on, but i dont know how you would use it from than on.
When i enable wifi hotspot or wifi tether it shuts down wifi. some apps do not communicate with same network even though it can ping each other.
Obviously, WiFi tether/hotspot needs the same WiFi transceiver that is used for WiFi reception, so they can't work continuously. You won't find any phone that doesn't have it the same way, because it doesn't make any practical sense to have both WiFi and WiFi hotspot on at the same time.
When you hotshot you can only share your mobile internet over wifi as the wifi of the phone cannot simultaneously receive and share Internet. You can only receive mobile internet and share wifi, hope that clears things up a little
Like it was said earlier, you can only choose to connect to the Internet or share it, not both at the same time.
Hi.
I like my Gear S and it works fine. Anyways, there is one weird feature.
If I have enabled Wi-Fi and my 3G is set to automatic, the watch can't connect to 3G after losing Wi-Fi connection. If I disable Wi-Fi, 3G connects pretty fast and remote access works.
Have you had this issue? Is this a feature that should work like this or is it a bug?
