Hello all
Quick question : is my dash charge charger from my ex One plus 3 will do the job for my xiaomi mi9 ?
It is like this one : https://www.amazon.fr/Chargeur-tabl...rge+oneplus+3&qid=1558015037&s=gateway&sr=8-5
It was extremely fast for the one plus, I wonder if I could damage the battery using it on my MI9
OnePlus Dash Charge : 20W
Xiaomi Mi 9 Boxed charger : 18W
Xiaomi Mi 9 supports QC 4+: 27W
So the charger you get in the box is slightly slower, but you can buy a QC4+ charger for ~25-50€ with 27W.
You could also buy a 20W Qi charger, but if have concerns about damaging your battery this should be your last option imo.
You can charge the Mi9 with the OP Dash Charger and it won't damage your phones. I'm not sure if it actually charges with 20W tho. I also switched from the Oneplus 3 to the Mi9 and when i plug in my dash charger it says "fast charging", but i wouldn't say it is faster then the boxed charger.

Thanks
I just tested, and it charges slower with OP dash charge
I have bought the wireless 20w pad charge , and it charges 1% per 40 sec, the pad plugged with the stock xiaomi charger ( who is 18w )
I would like to try a 27W, have you got a link for a good one ?
Have just tried my old OnePlus dash charger and it's the same as a standard normal non quick charge charger, not as fast as the included 18w charger
Anyone tried the oneplus dash charger with the 20w wireless charging pad? Would it throttle the charging speed?
Anyone tried to put diesel into petrol car? Dash charger and QC is whole different charging concept. Dash charger will work like regular charger(max. [email protected]) on every device except Dash equipped devices.
I am not sure why you're being sarcastic.
If you haven't seen a dash charger, I suggest you go take a look. Even if it works like a regular charger (and I want it to be), its output is 5V/4A.
So my question is whether its output can power the xiaomi 20w wireless pad without throttle. I.e. Full charging capability of the wireless pad.

I believe it's not that simple, OnePlus Dash Charge supports 20W charging, BUT that's 5V 4A.
On the other hand, I believe Mi 9 accept max 2A current, so, if you use original OnePlus Dash Charge, it only charges Mi 9 at max 5V 2A = 10W, much slower than use a standard 18W QC 2.0.....

Actually I have 4 Dash Chargers. There are tons of articles, topics here on XDA explaining how Dash Charging works a why it's not working on QC devices at 4Amps. For example:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/accessories/dash-charge-protocol-analysis-t3431917
https://www.guidingtech.com/61180/dash-charging-quick-charge-differences/
Long story short, it delivers 4A only for Dash enabled devices, with Dash cable. To maitain compatiblity with USB standard it can work also as regular 5V/2A charger.
BTW Xiaomi Wirless Pad draw 27W to deliver 20W. Look at the specs, it requires 20V/1,35A input. And you are asking if 5V/4A are enough.

I recomend you to install aida64 on playstore , go to battery and plug the phone to the chargers.
It will say how much energy is going into the phone.
Try it with both chargers
Any recommendations for an alternative 30W wall charger (confirmed working with the Rog Phone 2) that's cheaper than the $50 official charger?
Search this on Amazon. Works great for about $35!
Anker 30W PIQ 3.0 & GaN Tech Power Delivery USB C Charger, PowerPort Atom III Slim Compact Type-C Charger for iPhone 11/11 Pro / 11 Pro Max/XR/XS/Max, Galaxy, Pixel, MacBook and More
Does any USB PD charger work at the full 30W (provided it can give the right juice)
I believe so. how many volts is it charging at to get that 30 watts? 3amps at 10 volts?
I am not sure if my pixelbook charger is charging at the maximum 30 watts

Did you test it?
I tried a Baseus 45W Charger with PD and it couldn't enable Hypercharging.

Honestly, I think only the note 10+ 45w charger can support the hypercharge because the 30w charger is 10v 3a at peak. Soooo most chargers with PD 3.0 scales 5v 3a 9v 3a 12 3a 15v 3a 20v 2a. Note 10+ 45w peaks at 10v 4.5a so most likely that's the only charger you can buy as a alternative.

How do I test hypercharging?
Anyone from india tried the 30w charger?
Rog 2 has just been released officially in india as well. Went out of stock in 10minutes.
Can anyone send me a photo of their phone while HyperCharging with the 30W charger? Like the battery icon and the lock screen?
When I plug in with a crappy charger, you just get the usual lightning bolt on the battery icon. If you plug in to a standard fast charger, you get a Lightning Bolt with a "+" above it. And when you charge with a USB PD charger (I'm using an Anker) it has two "+" above it like "++", it doesn't say "HyperCharge" or whatever on lock screen though, unlike OnePlus which says "Warp Charging" on the lock screen
I can't find any other charger that does the 10v 3amp that the asus one does. But I think with my quick charge 4 charger, its charging at 27 watts = 9v 3amps
I don't have a charger that does 10 volts though.

Yes, if you have proprietary 30W ROG charger you will see "Hypercharge" text above fingerprint sensor in lockscreen state and additional thunderbolt sign next to battery icon in status bar... No more "+" or "++".

I think you wont find any 3rd party charger that support asus hypercharge, at least for now... I bought 45w BASEUS charger that support QC 4 and PD 3 but it didnt work... I bought again 2 different C to C cable but still didnt work either.. And i end up buying the 30w ROG charger, and with any C to C cable i got hypercharge working.... Fyi, the phone will only charged at 25watt wheres th 5watt remain will be used to power up attached accessories like aero fan cooler.
How long charging your Baseus ?
Any luck on finding a Hypercharge Charger yet?
Guys for 3 watts, it's totally not worth it. 27 watts is more than enough. The difference would be minimal if not noticeable. Save your money and don't fall for the marketing of "Hypercharge" numbers don't lie.
If you have the Asus 30 Watt charger, great.
If you don't, grab any other charger that can do 27 watts or more if the price is right.
I have ordered the below linked charger and cable from AliExpress, will share the charging results once i receive them...
Currently i am using the 40w charger that came with my huawei p30 pro, but apparently it charges the ROG at 18w max....

the 45 watt pixelbook charger is charging at 9v 2amp only= 18 watts which is QC 2.0 speeds

That looks like a quick charge 3.0 charger.
QC3 only goes up to 18 watts
Tried another charger
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B079FW6B7G/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Got up to 15.4W this time but still no hyper charging, just "++". The 18W Asus is still the best I got with over 16W output. I'm not giving up though.
Testing another tomorrow lol

Please let me know how the chargers performs, ty!
What's the fastest charger I can get other than the warp charger?
I checked and here are my options:
Anker PD charger with USB C to USB C cable
Anker PowerIQ with USB c to USB 3
Since Warp charge is achieved with 5V 6A, which is unique, no other charger I could find supports it. PD gives 5V 3A which gives 15W. One of those has 20V 1,5 A, but I dont know if that would initiate warp. mine AUKEY 56W USB-C Charger tops at 4V 2A.
Edited
Hello, im new with Xiaomi phones so i came here to ask for some advice.
i bought a Xiaomi Mi a3 (obviously ) 2 days ago and noticed that it was capable of Fast Charging.
18W fast Charging. but inside the Box it only has a 10W charger.
the specs of the 18W xiaomi Charger is:
Input: 100 - 240V~ 50-60Hz 0.5A
Output: 5V -- 2.5A [12.5W] / 9V -- 2A [18W] / 12V -- 1.5A [18W]
I have my Old Samsung Note 5 Fast Adaptive Charger 15W (i think) specs:
Input: 100 - 240V~ 50-60Hz 0.5A
Output: 9V -- 1.67A [15.03W] / 5V -- 2A [10W]
Question is, Is it ok to use the Note 5 Charger?? I will still use the Xiaomi type C Cable.
Note: i think xiaomi uses Qualcomm Universal Quick Charge technology, While Samsung Uses its own for Adaptive Fast Charging. so i don't know if it will damage the battery or something.
Reason for asking is: Information. i just wanted to know if it's Okay and not be Harmful before trying. But just in case i think i'll order a Xiaomi 18w Charger.
(bonus question: to those who Have an 18w Charger. a lot of test on youtube about the 18w Charger not really faster than the 10w charger. is it really worth the buy/faster??)
thank you. :highfive:
that's kinda quick 1:40min 10-95% . actually i joted down my 1st Charge yesterday night.
10% battery - time 9:47
66% battery - time 10:48 (44 mins till Fully charge. [phone said])
100% battery - time 11:43 (this last one i don't really know, . . . . i was watching a tv show and just realized the time and thats when i looked)
so i guess 1hr 56mins kinda more or less i guess using the 10W charger. . . . if what you said is true then next charge i will try using the 15w samsung charger and post the time.
Results of using Samsung 15W(ish) Adaptive Charger [Original Charger Note 5]
10% battery - 5:51 pm
11% battery - 5:52 pm (did a double check hehe)
100% battery - 7:24 pm
So it took 1 hr and 33mins. , can someone tell me their 18w Charger Test Results?
Just buy a 18watt charger.
Does someone tried to monitor Quick charge how does it work? Which type our phone use ? 5V 3A, 9V 2A or 12V 1,5A?
I'm on PE and with stock kernel qc doesnt work, but if I use bit kernel it goes 5v 3A.
Hi, I would like to ask about SuperDart 65W (10V, 6.5A) from Realme 7 Pro. It charges every of its two batteries at 5V and 6.5A (32.5W each) but I found information that it suppots Power Delivery and Quick Charge 18W as well. With PD and QC you can charge the battery at 9V , 12V, 15V etc. but not 10V. Does anyone know at what voltage the smartphone will be charged if you use PD or QC charger?
Is it safe to charge it with higher/less voltage? (e.g. 2x4.5V or 2x6V if 5V is needed for one battery)
And what about the standard 5V chargers and usb 3.1 (e.g laptop)? Is it possible to charge 7 Pro with it?
Generally, all fast charges will drop ther voltage when the connected phone doesn't support it.
With lower voltage you wont have any problems other than the speed of charging, which will obviously decrease
Standard 5V chargers will work just fine
Normal laptop usb will work just fine, in fact you will be lucky if the laptop supports any sort of fast charging at all
You are 100% safe to charge with pretty much any charger to my understandment
