Hey everyone, having quite a big problem on my Redmi 5 Plus, I flashed Nitrogen OS just today and now noticed that my camera seems to be glitched:

I am running the latest available version of OrangeFox Recovery and NitrogenOS. I use the camera app quite a while and this is a huge issue for me. I tried cleaning the cache on the camera app like some posts suggested, it didn't work.
Is there any solution to this? Or should I flash the stock rom back?
Thank you for your time
Image doesn't load
I just noticed that the image is not loading, at least for me
welp, the images the camera produces are as follows:
3/4 of the image is green, the top right corner is the only one with a visible image, I would post but I can't since this account is new

I'm having the same issue but on HavockOS and the workarounds aren't working.
Already disabled the camera2api with "persist.camera.eis.enable=0" and "persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=0" and there is no change.
But to me it's happening only on Whatsapp camera (didn't have any other app to test) while it is working on the default camera.
If anyone got any suggestions please put it here.
Thanks!

Pretty much self explanatory
Camera was working yesterday
Today its not :'(
I had this a few days back - turns out i'd been using the phone in 'torch' mode, and it had turned itself off after a while, but obviously didn't release the led function back to the camera.
When I cycled the torch back on and off again it was fine. I imagine rebooting would do the same thing?
Hope that helps a little!
yes, just reboot the phone and it will work again, had the same thing
have tried multiple reboots and even taken the battery out! not too sure what im supposed to do....may just reflash the original rom again to see if it makes a difference

just a question, but had you changed the lcd density before the camera failed? if so, did you adjust it below 182?
nope, lowest i set it to was 210, but that screenshot was taken at the norm 240
ok its happened again!!! i flashed the latest update and rebooted and it was fine, camera app loaded up fine...once i installed a theme it was saying the same message!!!! is this a hardware fault? i can hear the camera clicking every time it switches on
Just flashed the original firmware back onto it, the o2 one and its saying the same thing.....is this a hardware fault?
***************EDIT******************************
So i did a factory reset and the camera really is working now
anybody have a clue why this is happening? its slightly annoying....going to debrand and root to see if i can locate the problem...
hi guys, i have ran into a knot- flashed the deepshining v3 ROM for mozart, and everything's ok, but camera is stuck in 5MP- no 8MP setting anywhere. how can i fix this?
HTC apps also lost from marketplace. not a big issue- i need to fix the cam pronto.
any help would be much much appreciated.
^^ BUMP ^^
still waiting for some help....
There is probably wrong setting file "camerasettingsmanifest.XXX.xml" for camera setting. It is located in Windows directory.
Well done good job

HERE IS A VERY SIMPLE WAY TO FIX THIS ISSUE.
Go to settings - open REGION+LANGUAGES option change your display format and system locale to a different region (try it with English India) press to agree the chafes and the will automatically reboot and now you will have 8mpix in your camera settings.

Anyone have any suggestions?
Edit, I've flashed back to a previous of CM that I wasn't having any issues with and its still happening.
Wipe and flash a stock rom to test, the status bar appears fine so probably not hardware.

It does happen on the status bar, just seen the problem happen a few minutes ago, it's quite erratic. I'll try flashing back to stock and update. can't take a photo of it at the moment as I don't have another camera I can use (used a friends this morning)

Go to Settings > Motion turn it on and tick Palm Swipe to capture then when you want to take a screen clip swipe the screen with the palm of your hand, then upload that image no need for a camera
Still doesn't look like a hardware issue.
sent from the state where marijuana is NOT illegal !
putting stock back on it seems to have fixed the issue.
Shame that I really don't like the stock s3 rom at all

No one said that you had to keep stock. Flashing stock is a simple Hardware v Software test.

I realised that after I said it
So its still happening on stock ( all be it after a few days ). Any suggestions of what I should try next?
I have a problem. Camera wont work. Most of the time its a black screen and other times it kinda works but i get the image below, and it takes pics like that but you cant view them. I removed apps that I have installed since I noticed this and nothing. Any ideas on this? I looked everywhere for about 2 weeks now. Not sure what to do....?
If a factory reset from the settings menu is recommended... what exactly happens to the custom ROM and kernel? Do they need to be reinstalled or...?
Running Shostock 2.5.6 And AJ 1.25s
And if this is not the place to post this... please tell me where? Thanks everyone!

Replacing the camera module doesnt work. Does the same thing. Any ideas? I doubt it since I have gotten ZERO replies. Was hoping at least ONE person on here has had this problem... guess not. Thanks anyway everyone!
I wonder if it's the kennel you're using. AJK 1.25s is pretty old, and while it is the Samsung version I can't remember if it's for the ICS version you're running; maybe AJ can pop in and reeducate me.
Anyway, a quick test would be to nandroid and flash the rom again without changing the kernel, then see if that solves your problem.
One other thing, don't factory reset from the settings menu, always do these things from the custom recovery.

I just flashed Shostock 3.0.2 the other day without flashing a kernel before I changed the camera module... same result. Thanks for the tip on factory reset.

Slow motion doesn't work.
Thanks for the google camera app! The only problem I encountered was clicking slow motion causes the phone to go back to the home screen. Any updated file for this?
if you want to try Gcam V6.2 for Lenovo z5 Pro GT you can use UNI_CAM https://ff.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/UNI_CAM_v1.2a_P.apk
but there a lot setting you have to change to make it work properly.
here are the .xml setting:
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/p/f/2020/01/z5progt-gc6_unicam-1.2a.xml
And if you want to use Gcam V7.2 to try Astro Photography you can use https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/GCam_7.2.010_Urnyx05-v2.1-fix.apk
the setting for Z5Pro is not as much as the UNI_CAM
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/p/f/2020/01/lenovoz5progt.02_urnyx05.xml

I agree almost everything is working fine - I can't open slow motion video (app crashes).
Also did You find any way to enable auxiliary cameras? I'm using crDroid and I've tried few times to enable 2nd back camera, but without any success
Gcam => UltraCam M8

Try UltraCam M8 4.1 with .xml for Lenovo Z5 pro GT, this cam works great for me. Slomition also works.
