Hi guys,
For those who are not satisfied with the audio quality with the stock eadphones, let me share with you my setup.
- First you need to enable dolby atmos and set it up on movie.
- secondly you need to install an equalizer from playstore : equalizer fx
Setup equalizer fx :
In the first tab disable the eq
Second tab set it up like said in the attachment
Third tab, select classical type of profil
You’re good to go, this is the best that I’ve found.
Make sure you have nothing more than what I told you to setup to minimise interference
Cheers

Dolby Atmos set on movie it's bad, especially when listening to music. This is useful when one sees films, because it manages to separate the central channel (voice) with the background (music and environment), thus creating a surround effect, and it is absolutely not suitable for music. For music, either put it on "music" or turn it off completely (recommended) dolby atmos, then use Eq well. For the eq use the original one from samsung or SoundAssistent, it is the best
If you know what you are doing, you would not have thought of an Equalizer on top. Dont follow that advice. Get Neutron Player and be Happy

Hello,
Can someone tell me if it is possible to diasble an equalizer that comes with a music player? Example: I have Poweramp installed, it has it`s own equalizer, but it want to use the player with the preinstalled stock equalizer on the phone.
Since poweramp doesn`t run a seperate process for the equaliazer that i could disable, my idea was that i could deinstall it`s EQ somewhere in Root explorer, and then it would let me choose the other equalizers installed on the phone.
But the question is, where to search???
Disable equalizer
I could only use PackageDisabler from [email protected] to disable the stock SoundActive equalizer. But I haven't yet made another equalizer, like Bose Atmos to work after disabled the stock equalizer. I am using a Note 8 with Oreo.
I have a RoadNavi S160 (Android) installed as a head unit in my car, stock speakers + undearseat subwoofer ( Connected to the rear speakers ). I have flashed the unit with rooted Kotix ROM which has a preinstalled V4A.
I've managed to get it to work with PowerAmp, but thats where it ends...
1. Which settings shoulld i be working with? (headset? speaker? bluetooth? USB? - or all of them? )
I have tried to play around with them, but i am totally lost! - only the speaker tab makes a difference to the sound.
2. The IRS files don't seem to make any difference to the sound ( I can change them, and driver status shows as processing )
3. With the equlizer only(no IRS) the speakers sound either too flat or too distorted
I am not after a highest quality audio, but would like to hear a nice punchy bass and decent vocals ( without cracking speakers! )
Thank you all
Can you use PowerAMP (the app itself?)
If yes! Well Poweramp uses something called "DirectMusicControl" so it will only use PowerAmp no matter what you set in Viper4Android!
Go to settings --> Audio --> Enhanced Settings (in my case the last point on Audio) --> First Entry is the "DirectVolumeControl"
Klick the box so it's unticked and play some music with poweramp while you open up Viper and set everything to your liking!
WARNING: Maybe you should reset ViperSettings to default if possible not that you blow away speakers
Thanks for the reply!
I have already managed to get those two to work together and since posting my initial question I've figured out the way to use the IRS's ( turns out I copied a folder full of files into the kernel, instead of extracting just the files into the existing kernel folder ).
But I must say that I am struggling to get it working as well as it probably can.
The settings within the "headset" tab seem to have no effect whatsoever, and only the settings from the "speaker" tab seem to make a difference.
Having said that, no matter what IRS I use, it just sounds wrong ( too quite, too loud, not enough bass or too much bass )
Thinking about it - is there a way to default v4a to set parameters within the headset tab instead of the speaker?
This would enable me to have a greater controll ( and possibly sort my issues ) over bass, clarity etc.?
Thanks

Thanks. This is exactly what I was finding from 1 month
Hey, thanks for the suggestion. But one question. I'm subscribed to Google Play Music how can I increase the level from Google music app?
The songs downloaded are not recognised by 3rd party Music Players. Even Poweramp is not recognising it.
It is pretty clear that the device has the potential to deliver the best audio at an optimum level but people at Asus are giving a deaf ear to this. I guess a little bit of coding or just a software update can sort the problem. Or some hack might help.

When i will get time i will try to boost sound at kernel level.......
Or just use viper4android or something like that, the dolby atmos, or other sound mods are also available. They work systemwide. I haven't tested and don't know any will work or not. Report here if someone tries.
Poweramp Hi-Res Output will only work if Viper4FX is not installed. With Viper the audio is capped at 16 bit, uninstall it and experience 24 bit audio. It does make a huge difference for high quality music files (lossless .FLAC). Happy with my Shure SE 215 now.
Viper ,Dolby are capped only upto 16bit 48khz ..,..
Poweramp uses its own build DSP to trigger 24bit 384khz of sd636 built in DAC bypassing Nxp smart amp.....
Poweramp is dope......none can match its sound quality.....
I hope that Nxp smart amp support 24bit 384khz audio seraching a way to implement it
Works amazingly man. Now I can finally retire my Mi A1.
Works nice...but after enabling.... I can't control it's volume. Even with system media volume to zero....songs play at maximum sound.
Hey all! Just bought the 7.1 from B&H for $349 to replace my Moto g5 plus which is full of issues. One thing I will miss is being able to install V4A (Viper equalizer). I can tune the settings and make my Bluetooth to car connection sound a hell of a lot better than actually changing the settings on the head unit. Was wondering if there was a stock (or built in) EQ for the Nokia 7.1 that I can use to tune Spotify, YouTube, etc. or if I'll have to download a crappy EQ app off of the play store. Is there a built in EQ, or even better, a way to install V4A on this phone without TWRP? Thanks!

There is a way to change the Bluetooth codec in the dev menue, not the same as an EQ but wouldn't you want the signal to transfer as true as possible and use your speaker source EQ?

Yeah I got the phone, saw the stuff in the devs. To answer everyone's question, there is a built in EQ, but you have to open Spotify to use it (not sure if GPM or Pandora work). It's not terrible, but certainly not as good as V4A. And to respond to your question, I don't think the signal transfer is really touched with an EQ. The EQ adds bass and lets me adjust my mids to the way I like them. Like I said, my head unit is garbage. The EQ practically does nothing to improve bass or mids. At first I thought it was the speakers but it isn't. Thats why I wanted a built in EQ on my phone, until I get a new head unit at least.
Hello Folks!
Is there any General Output Audio Equilizer App that works without root on Android 11?
I did some test on some Google play Apps but they are not working. I need to EQ all my audio and not only Music.
Hey! You can use Equalizer and Bass Booster app,it's free.It has an equalizer and a bass booster. To be more specific, it includes a five band equalizer, ten equalizer presets, and a bass booster. The developers state that it should work with most music players, video players, and FM radio. The only major issue is that the app will close sometimes when left in the background and sometimes it doesn’t always work. It’s one of the simpler equalizer apps and it should work on most devices.
Here's the link on google play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=music.bassbooster.equalizer
AFAIK Android comes with an equalizer out of the box - it's typically hidden: activate and configure it..
