Has anyone got their hands on the 5G Tab S6 yet? - Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Questions & Answers

What's the battery life like using 5G as anecdotally 5G seems to use more juice then 4G.
Any other differences worth mentioning?

Oh dear, not one person, sales musn't be great so does that mean cheap deals soon maybe?

[Q] Motorola RAZR Maxx HD Coming to the UK?

Just a question i thought someone on here may know the answer to.
Does anyone have any information or anything that hints at the fact of the RAZR Maxx HD coming to the UK?
I already have a RAZR but ive always wanted a RAZR Maxx, and now the addition of this phone to the US market has got me very excited and hoping it will make its way to the UK, even though they seem to be changing the specs of phone over here (UK) compared to over there. (US)

I certainly hope so - the RAZR i, which is a modified RAZR M (as opposed to HD) really isn't very interesting at all. Since the RAZR HD uses the MSM8960 SoC it has more or less global support for LTE as well, so getting it over here shouldn't be much a of problem. I'm guessing they have a deal with the US carrier to keep it exclusive for some time.
I hope so too, I mean I was looking at getting the RAZR i but then when I found out its only a single core (admittedly at 2.0 Ghz) and the same screen which the RAZR already had I was a bit disappointed with it, and switching on to T-Mobile now so I can get 4G I am hoping it does come out in the UK because I shouldn't take much to get it to work over here

Looks like it's available only at verizon but it has Gsm radios, have a look at GSMArena.com specifications. Need some confirmations though but specs wise it seems it has Gsm radios so it's possible to order it online and ship it

Doesnt the UK use 900/1800 gsm? if so then i may have to consider ordering this as soon as i can
I'm gonna pick one up next month ($650+tax for the device iirc).
I think the LTE won't work here (it's probably the 700/1700/2100 version, but with the latter two disabled), but after seeing EE's pricing and usage allowances, I have zero interest in an LTE service right now!!

I think exactly the same, i was under the impression that T-Mobile and Orange was going to be took over by EE then an upgrade for compatible devices to 4G LTE service. Thats why i switched to T-Mobile. Then when i found out you have to have a separate contract for like £30 a month for like 500mb I instantly thought forget that. Im pay £21 a month for unlimited minutes, texts and data, it'll do me for now
I actually asked Motorola this and they have no plans to bring the Razr Maxx HD to Europe (would post the link but I can't being a newbie.
Has anyone actually bought one from the States and can confirm it works in the UK?
Hey,
I never picked one up from the US in the end - I'm going to get an unbranded GSM version from Canada instead will report back and let you know how it works out!

I had a look at Motorola Mobility website in Canada, but couldn't find the Razr Maxx HD for sale

Ah I spoke to a friend who has lived out in Canada and she recommended Bestbuy and TheSource but couldn't find the Maxx on either. I did find it on Expansys.Ca though for around £300.

I started to cry with joy when I read that, I would still like a normal one though, but at the same time for that price I'd rather get a Nexus 4 or something

Well I had a Nexus 4 on pre-order, but cancelled it.... too many issues being reported (only 16GB, dodgy reception, glass back randomly breaking, screens not calibrated properly). Also the more I looked at the LCD screen the worse it looked next AMOLED displays. And LG isn't really that baller... so that was that
Let's hope the Moto is more solid!

Damn that many problems, I haven't really heard that many, only one really widespread problem which was a buzzing coming from the headset speaker, damn, maybe I won't get that then
And I hope so after all the shipping and stuff, it is a real shame they aren't bringing it to Europe, would of had at least one guaranteed sale off me

I've just bought a Razr Maxx, because I simply couldn't get a Maxx HD or they were ridiculously expensive. I have a HTC One X, but the battery life is just so poor and I tend to travel a lot. The Razr i just isn't very impressive and I wanted the battery life. Ordered it from ValueBasket. Free delivery and it came all the way from Hong Kong! So were these phones just simply never released in the UK?
I had a HOX before but sold it due to the horrendous battery life. Tegra 3 + 1800mAh battery = failure.
Maxx HDs go for a reasonable amount on eBay, but obviously there's the risk of getting stung with import duty...
But would the Maxx HD work properly in the UK?
I am toying with the idea of bringing one back with me from the USA. Turns out you can buy one from Amazon sim-free, but it will still have the Verizon logo on it (which I don't really care about, as long as it works properly on O2 over here!)
Should work fine - it's SIM unlocked outside of America. There's a thread here called "Maxx HD in Europe" or something with loads of people reporting success with it.

Where did you get yours mate? Looking on Ebay right now (UK) someone is trying to sell one for £895!!!!! Jesus. Then £683 from the States and as you say, there's a BIG risk of being hit by import duty.
I've just looked on Amazon.com - now showing as $99 - but looks like you need to take a contract with Verizon
Why won't they release this phone in Europe!!!! I think would be a sleeper hit once everyone worked out the battery life is awesome....as I understand it.
Is Jellybean on the Razr Maxx...yet?

[Q] DNA In Canada?

Hi guys,
I'm in Canada and using a sim card of Rogers. I love Droid DNA so much and I don't want to wait for the World-Wide Version or the Canadian version to come out. I just want to make sure that can I use Rogers 4G LTE on a Verizon Droid DNA in Canada?
Thanks

Were you able to just walk into a Verizon store and buy it without becoming a Verizon customer? Is it Factory unlocked? The web masses say YES but the Verizon people are probably trained to say No.
I popped in a friend's AT&T SIM and had no issues. It picked up service pretty quick. You should be able to buy the phone outright from Verizon without being a customer. In the past I was just asked for my ID (before I had Verizon).

why are you selling it ?
not as good as its made out to be? im curious.
im in the same boat.; in canada, just returned the samsung s3, didnt like it.
now on the fence between the iphone 5 and the droid dna.(beacuse i like a nice slick build quality and the s3 felt like a cheap vcr remote)
I would love to see the DNA come to Canada, but friend, DON'T GET AN iPhone!!! If build quality is what you're concerned with, i'm sure everyone here will agree with me that Motorola is the way to go, IF you want a device that has amazing build quality that you can feel in the hand. I am a Samsung fanboy, but i've also owned and reviewed (for my youtube channel) many Moto Android devices, and i have to say, they have, hands down, the best build quality of any devices i've held in my hands. Some people may flame me for this, but i think Moto has better build quality than HTC, and i really enjoy HTC devices!
But don't down grade to an iPhone! Coming from Android, you would regret it, i'm positive of that. =)
Cheers,
Jared

well I have an iPhone 4for the past 2 years. why do you say don't get an iPhone?
lets not discuss which os is is better. I'm talking about performance here. and yes build quality. and I've yet to see an objective comparison where another phone outperformed the iPhone 5 .
hmmm
iphone5 or DNA...
DNA! lmfao
im also interested in getting one. I am also from canada and might make a trip down to the states for the holidays. Can i just walk into a verizon store and buy one outright?

i just checked out a couple of motorolas, they are decent but still completely plastic. the iphone 5 is made from glass and aluminum. its pretty hard to top that.
but i dont mind the feel of the htc's.
can anyone tell me the best way to get one for use in canada?
should i just buy one on ebay from the us?
and does the droid dna have a sim card?
a local cell phone store told me if it has a sim card then they will be able to unlock it and it will work.
andybones, why lmfao?
why do you think the dna is so much better than the iphone 5?

Can't say too much on battery life, only had it for about a week, but it generally seems pretty solid, lasts me a good day of usage (browsing, facebook, twitter, calls, the reg, etc) just make sure you close apps that are unnecessarily running in the background as that'll slow the phone a bit (depending on the app) and drain battery. hope you enjoy your DNA

Hi, I just got the DNA in America to use it in the Netherlands.
In a actual Verizon store i could not but a DNa without a kind of plan.
Even saying I want to buy it without a plan, they say you should pay 599 for the phone and x per month as a subscription.
So not doing that we went to a general electronics store that sells verizon products but was not an Verizon original store.
Here is where i could buy the DNA without a plan for 599.
Hope it helps.
I have a problem with the data connection in the netherlands, but i do not know if this works in Canada.
I have a droid DNA here in Canada, I can confirm that it is in fact sim unlocked out of the box. I won mine, so Im not sure about the hassle at a verizon store. I am trying to get it to connect to LTE. I have read several reports of it working no problem for people here, but can't seem to get it myself. I do get it to connect to hspa without an issue by putting in my apn settings and changing them to default.

Question about unlocked phone and Verizon..

Hello All,
I pre-ordered a green Galaxy S6 Edge from MobiCity because Verizon was not going to carry the Green version of the phone. Before I spend the $800 on the phone, I was wondering if anyone could help me to confirm that the phone will in fact work on verizon's US network... I called verizon but their tech support wasn't much help. I'm not bashing their tech support, but usually my comrades here are more knowledgeable.
Here's the phone I bought: http://www.mobicity.com/samsung-galaxy-s6-edge-64gb-4g-lte.html#.VRrtGvzF9bg
Also, I have read some reviews online about ordering through MobiCity and they all seem good. I was wondering if anyone had any personal experience with them?
Thanks in advance!!
Cheers!
Honestly not too sure what version this is but any phone to be used with Verizon has to be bought from Verizon. This won't work with them. Also, the band doesn't seem to be compatible much with the United States carrier. You'll get 3G with att and tmobile that's about it. Not lte

can i be honest? its just a color. that is a lot of extra money to drop to get it in the color of your choice. I would say if you want that color that bad, have the back and front glass swapped out after the fact and still pocket the extra money.
Just my opinion. Take it for what its worth.

You are totally correct my friend. It was a lot extra for the phone. I didn't have the Verizon prices at the time and figured it would be on par, but boy was I wrong. Thank you for the input! I ended up ordering the white one. I am debating switching to the black version though.
My debate between white and black comes down to the Gear VR really.. I am wondering if the white will "disrupt" or make the VR experience less immersive than the black. I have noticed that the black phones kind of "pull" me in a bit more than a white bezel phone.
I don't know much about the Gear VR though so I am not sure if the Bezel is even visible and if it even matters..
Anyways,
Thanks again for the input/help guys!

Cellular strength and throughput

We know how much you like to stream, ahem, "videos", and so cellular data is mega-important. Rate this thread to express how you think the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge's LTE performs. A higher rating indicates that it's fantastic: throughput is excellent and signal strength is top-notch.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add.
I'll let you know how the Verizon one is for sure. Currently my Galaxy S6 Edge gets horrible service at work. If I am even able to get 1 single bar of LTE with the S7 Edge then it is definitely an improvement.
Hi. Thanks for you report.
Please can you make à complete review and comparaison of signal in différent conditions (low signal, high signal, work, home,...) with s6 and s7.
What about stability of signal.
And if you can put screen. Thanks
Thanks a lot
It's clearly better than any LG (G2, G3, G4, V10) I've owned. I'm pleasantly surprised. The V10 was supposed to have TruSignal, it was marketed as the first phone to use it, but I had horrible reception all over. I get excellent signal with the Samsung and this is the first one I've ever owned after swearing to never buy one lol.

Really nice glad to read that from a LG fellow. Can't wait to get my hands on that S7 Edge.
I have been using my phone for like 24 hours... I have to state the devices lte is way better then my note 5 WiFi calling has been beefed up as well it's solid crystal clear no issues what so ever the s7 edge was well worth the trade in.

I don't have it yet but I'm in Puerto Rico which is part of USA and I'm in the T-Mobile carrier so I guess it'll be Snapdragon. Unless there's a possibility to get the Exynos version?

very disappoint . Had iPhone 6S and Galaxy A5 before. and there is no improve over them.
Exynos version
hmm compared to my old nexus 5 ... i think the s7 edge is not as good as the n5
hope there is more improvement in the future
I'm not as happy with the service rev compared to the v10. I've had Samsung since the s3 getting a new one every year and having the note edge with no development I went with the v10, which didn't. So I came back and I think the note 4 had better service than the s7 edge and the v10, which I thought was much better than the s7
I love my T-Mobile connection, is way faster in México, in T-mobile at California is around 5Mbps to 75Mbps download and 5Mbps to 35Mbps Upload.
But as you see, speed is way better in México and Unlimited
I have Exynos version and using on USA T-Mobile network,my signal not as good as mate 8 the one before I used.
Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA-Developers mobile app
The signal is awful at least half that of the cheapest phone you could find on the market on the same network. The S7 is practically a polished turd, useless, unless you happen to be in an area with a very strong signal. There is no fix for this issue because the phone has been poorly designed.
As soon as I can I plan to sell this and upgrade to a OP3... at least it works and a fraction of the price.....
I have the Exynos G935F and my signal seems to have improved quite a bit from the Sony Xperia Z5 I was using before.
I've got the SM-G935U and I'm on T-Mobile in the Bay Area. I like the phone a lot but the signal strength in both my office in SF and my home in San Mateo ... kinda sucks. I had the Note 7 for a very short time and it was amazing. The Note 7 was my first Samsung in a while so it's just the S7E and Note 7 I can talk about ... but comparing the S7E to my Nexus 6P (6, 5, 4), iPhone 6, and a few others here and there .. the S7E doesn't stack up at all. Not sure why .. I was thinking it was T-Mobile's fault but in down town San Mateo about 8/10ths of a mile from me there is a HUGE LTE tower and I've had a mega connection when down there and the S7E doesn't perform near the others. *shrug* It is what it is. We'll see how the S8 does in a few months.
I find there's very little difference really between every other phone I've owned, with the exception that now the S7 can pick up the supposed 'Super 4G' that my S4 couldn't. That said, it doesn't even remotely improve my life.
Signal is fine it seems.

I owned both the s7 edge and note 8, both att us models. The s7sdge can be temp rooted and the note could be rooted but lost 20 percent battery from rooting but only on old firnware. Unless you are buying an exnos model do not expect root or much development ever since Samsung locked down the bootloader on all us carriers. Got fee up with samcrap and am on a OnePlus 6t now which can be rooted out the box. There is not much different between the s7edge and the side though.
