Any progress in unlocking bootloader on SM-G965U? - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

Howdy,
Anyone have any direction on this?
Background:
I have successfully followed guides to rooting my old LG G4, but I wouldn't consider myself intimately familiar with the processes for these things.
That being said I was looking to flash Eelo OS to a refurbished device and settled on a Galaxy S9+.
Phone arrives, and upon beginning the process I realize my fatal mistake -- I have the G965U model with the locked bootloader (I realize I mistook carrier unlocked for bootloader unlocked.)
Not easily deterred I dived into searching for a workaround, but I haven't seen anything that gives me hope. The phone also is running Android 10, so if I'm not mistaken, that complicates things, (no?).
So if anyone has advice or a guide they can direct me to that would be of immense value.
Alternatively, if the process would be overly cumbersome, I still have the option to return my refurbished SM-G965U. Were I to do that, assuming I didn't just go with the international model, does anyone have any other recommendations on a device compatible with Eelo?

G9650. It's a snapdragon from china or latin america mate. The us models will never be unlocked. The f model or exynos have worse battery and more heat compared to the snapdragon g9600 or 9650. We have several roms available from los 17.1 havoc evolutionx now. And a nice stock setup rooted.
There is root but its 8.0 only. System only root. No kernels no good. 80% charge limmit

Hey mate listen there is a way of unlocking bootloaders of US variants but its very risky, it is rarely been done by UFI via ISP pinouts by first wiping BL part and writing dump of exynos BL but its very complicated and risky not to mention costly not to mention limited only to some experts. Well one is in my town i know. He has unlocked J727T Bootloader for me for RS 5000 PKR DAMN!

Just buy eng certs. Your method is not viable
There is no way to do it. For a everyday person. And the ones who have the eng certs are out do to a lack of total development. So dont go spreading false hope

yea ok.. You seem so knowledgeable about it, why did you need someone else to unlock the BL of your easily unlocked J727T?

And to follow up your j7 is a exynos already. You can't flash anything from a exy to snap

J727T is T-Mobile variant BL:Locked, i know it is a exynos version i just pointed for reference. All BL:Locked devices can be unlocked i do not know the whole process but its done by emmc or ufs programming, its been done men there is lot going out there, Chill...

G935L, A variant of S7 edge which is Bootloader locked has been unlocked by that man i have saw the knox 0×1 in Download mode, the phone also accepts the Root Boot created by EFT Pro, for all ya haters i am going to upload the download mode pics soon.

wat r u even talking about? u do realize that this is a thread about a newer entirely different device than any u have even mentioned right?
who cares if a g935l is unlockable? it has literally nothing to do with this thread at all.
the s7 devices are literally 4+ years old..
