Wondering USB hub with PD charging now enable on S20 line - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Accessories

was looking into upgrading to S20 but wondering if issue with S8 and S9/note9 has been fix thx for Samsung finally getting PD certification
So back in the day you could get USB C hub and hookup note9/S9 with pass-through charging, but charging speed wasn't enough to keep up with battery drain
playing a game or HDMI out or using GPS split screen with other app while hookup to hub will slowly drain your device even while charging ... eventually it will die.
or say using DEX
question is for people who already bought device S20 tested a USB hub with PD delivery see if there no difference in charging speed while phone is using say SSD or Harddrive or USB camera
and are charge levels while doing this able to keep up with drain speed / actually gaining % in battery rather loosing.
or does the OTG function is what limit all this from charging at respectable level

I did this with the s20u with the charger they provided it took 2 hours to charge no drain issue

If it's taking 2 hours it's probably charging at 5V/0.5A (2.5W) USB charging. So long as you leave it alone and don't use your phone it will charge .... Not doing PD charging (15W) that's a disappointing guess OTG disables anytype of fast charging.
If they would only enable 5V/2.4A normal USB charging I'll be happy under OTG

Ability to charge 7.7 with PC

This SIIG INC - SYNC/CHARGING HUB AND READER FOR GALAXY TABLETS - CE-H21112-S1 gives you the capability to charge your Tab through a computer USB port. Seems to work pretty good used it last night. Checked the net prices vary per vendor.
when I plug into the pc usb port even though it shows as not charging after a while the percentage goes up, so it does d a slow charge. Does the hub give a faster charge?
charging via USB is very slow
you can switch it from data mode to charge mode.

charge mode allows a better charge rate.
I'm experiencing a slow charging experience through USB port @ my laptop as well, like at least one of the users mentioned up there... Does this allow fast charging of the battery?
When i want to charge my 7.7 overnightI usually do it thru USB. FYI slow charging is always best for the batteries.
Since i got my 7.7, i have never used the included 2000ma charger. I always use my old GNote's 1000ma charger to prolong the battery life of the 7.7 since it is not easily replaceable.

[Q] Slow discharge with magnetic charging USB port

I've set up my Z2 as a Sat Nav in my car and using a magnetic USB lead plugged into a 3A charger. I've noticed that the phone doesn't really charge with Google maps running and playing music. It slowly loses the charge. Has anyone come across this?
Have the same issue with mine. I've got a magnetic adapter that I use with my ordinary USB cable and it can't charge the battery when I use waze and Spotify. At night I use a magnetic charger cable and then it's charging fast but not with my adapter.
Skickat via Tapatalk
Mine also charges very slowly or even discharges depending on the usage through magnetic port. My guess its due to cable being ****ty
I'm wondering maybe the cable is not delivering enough current despite my charger can output 3A.

i think this might be a Problem of the magnetic Ports!
Pretty sure screen on, gps and active sat navigation type app on nearly all android phones will lead to this.
Fact is the device is using lots of power, so much that the charger can't keep up. You also will likely find the phone will struggle with heat issues while doing this.

slow charging?

Anyone find charging the Z3TC painfully slow? It takes me 6+ hours to get to full charge using the magnetic connector. Is it faster over USB? Is there anyway to see how much current is actually being drawn without root?
I'm charging using a USB wall wart, 5V/2A rating.
while charging, go to settings/about tablet/status and look what battery state is saying: "AC" means normal charging while "USB" says usb charging. The latter often is usualy limiting to 500mA. This would mean that your wallmart charge or your cable has the connectors wrong so that the device thinkgs it is on a normal pc-usb port.

3:50 for me to fully charge on magnetic stand.
magnetic charging
I also experience the same thing with the magnetic changer but when I use USB it does change it faster
I've noticed that as well! That it takes over 6 hours to charge up. It's very mysterious as to why though. I have the usb cord connected to a 5v/2a rated wall adapter, that takes forever to charge it with. Anyone know why or how to get it to charge faster?
So I ordered a bunch of stuff from ebay and amazon and am going to try a few things over the new few days to figure out the slow charging
1). charge using 5V/2A wall wart through a "charging" micro usb cable. This is one where the 3 data pins are not connected, only the 2 power pins. I have a rooted htc one m8 that can measure the charging current and will make sure this setup is capable of >500mA charging
2). same as above but use a micro usb to magnetic port adapter
3). charge using the official DK36 charging dock(not designed for the Z3TC as far as I know, it came with my xperia z2 phone, but the tablet fits in it and charges)
Since theres so many links in this chain(wall wart, usb cable, dock/mag port connector) I figure its worth seeing if one of them is a weak link

[CHARGE TIME] [Q.CHARGE] Google Pixel Charging time @Verious chargers/P.Banks

Here there the main aim is to show the charging time from various charger
10W, 15W, 35W etc... etc....
QC1.0, QC2.0, QC3.0 Chargers & Powerbanks
Am waiting for my new Pixel phone when i got i will fill this thread by all the tests
It doesn't seem to support qualcomm's quick charge even though the chip has qc 3.0 capabilities. It uses USB c fast charging with Google's 18w charger.
No chance it will support Qualcomm Quick Charge as that technology breaks USB-C requirements.
No quick charge....
Is there anything wrong with using a QC2 charger with the pixel? I have one in my car from my old S6 and just swapped the cables. Seems to charge quick and without issues but I hope I'm not doing any unseen damage.
I was charging with the main google's 18w charger using the 'otg' and the usb 3 cable and the results was from 0% to 100% ~1.20hrs and just removing the otg from the charge and using the usb type C on both side the charge from 0% to 100% was ~40min..
Hi,
I will get the phone in the next weeks and i'm still trying to find good 3rd party charger as pixel in my country is sold without the original one.
Any good 18W chargers that you know that might work?

Note 8 drains battery while wirelessly charging

Late week i got my Samsung fast wireless charger pad
At first my device doesn't recognize fast wireless charging and not even show the toggle switch for turning on fast wireless charging..
It is simply says wirelessly charging but instead of charging..my note 8 drains battery...
I have the same issue. I wonder if our wireless chargers are to blame? I got mine from the Samsung/note 8 promotion.
Try a different USB cable. And what charger are you using?
what make and model is the pad? also if im not mistaken, fast wireless charging needs at least 10 watt/5v 2amp capable chargers.
also check for crappy usb cable, use an other one.
I in the past have found that most def the charge blocks and cables make all the difference in the world with the wireless charge.....
I will second these post
My Note 8 used to charge successfully on the Samsung Fast Charge Wireless station, but now it says it's fast-charging but it actually continues to drain. I have three chargers in the house, using the provided Samsung USB cable, and they continue to charge my Samsung S8 and S7, but the Note 8 does not charge successfully on any of them anymore.
