Can I unroot my device with a custom rom? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm curious to know that I could install ios emojis and upgrade to the latest version of Android. But some of the apps I use won't work if I root my device. So my question is can I upgrade my android version with custom settings (fonts n stuff) so that all apps work normal.

@ultrahalf
IMHO using SuperSU by far the simplest way to unroot your Android.

You can install any of the touchwiz based ROMs in the development section
or
you can install the OTA and then root it again.

[Q] Lost root access on i9300 INT 4.2.2 on cyanogen mod nightlies

Hey guys
had a problem with installing barclays bank mobile app on a rooted phone so used an app called hide my root.
After playing about and trying various things such as deleting SU and Super SU i know cannot get root working again.
Any ideas on how to restore the root access. Once this is restore i want to update to the lastest cm10 version.
Android 4.2.2
Cheers

Root is in the ROM, so if you flash the latest ROM from recovery, you'll have the binary and apk back anyway.

[Q] UPDATE

Hallo.... Guys, new android updates are coming. After root its not possible to get OTA update. What is the plan ? i mean, this thread its going to be about the ways how to update our beloved ZOOM to the newest firmware.
QUESTIONS ARE:
It is someone going to work on root for 4.3 - 4.4 ?
It is better to "stay" on stock firmware ?
How its possible (where to download) to flash the stock ? (unrooted)

Android upgrade

Hello,
I'm new to Android world so wondering how to upgrade it from one version to another.
I've a device having Honeycomb and would like to upgrade it to Jelly Bean at least.
Does anyone know where to download Android Jelly Bean from and what it takes to upgrade it?
Thanks
Anyone?
What are the Android upgrade steps?
Can you do the upgrade yourself ?
Thanks

It needs a Custom Recovery & a Custom ROM(JB or Above) To Upgrade, Search In XDA or Google it, Does Your device Has These Two Means You Can Upgrade..

There is no custom recovery or a custom ROM available that I know of. The device is Vizio Co-star.
If you don't have these 2 things, does it mean you can't upgrade?
Are they are patches or can something be done if the device is rooted?
Thanks

No There Are No Other Ways, if Your Device Supports Official Updates Means You don't Need These Two..if Your Device Doesn't Support Official Updates Means You need Custom Recovery & a ROM to Upgrade From One Version to Another , & Root Helps In Flashing a Recovery, If Your Device Doesn't Have A Custom Recovery Means Root Can't Do Anything With That.. Root is Just a Assistance for Flashing a Custom Recovery ..
CM ROMs Even Have In-build Root With ROMs, So Root is Not A Big Issue Here ...

Is there any way to unroot a "system as root" ROM?

i recently flashed new rom which is a "system as root" ROM
i don't need it to be rooted since i have some banking app that i need, but it can't be used cause the app read the rom as rooted.
i know i can just flash magisk then use magisk hide to make the banking app run but i prefer to not be rooted.
is there any way to make it not read as root ROM?

XDA mods have removed all download links to this ROM, so something is fishy or wrong with it and you shouldn't use this ROM
mods locked the thread because they forgot to put the kernel source
by the way, the rom itself is quite stable
my only hope is too use the rom without root since i don't think i need root for it
