adbd service is removed from my device. - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I am very new here and I have a big problem, I was working with a device that is using Android OS, suddenly its ADB is not working. I tried to start the service but I think the adbd file is missing. I searched a lot and found nothing, Can you please tell me how can I fix this issue?
I have no root access, I don't know how it is removed.

@newdevnoob
Basically adbd ( ADB daemon ) only present on developer-friendly Android devices, means what are debugable.
Have you enabled USB debugging in device's Developer options?

I have used that before, I mean, it suddenly appeared and I did nothing, I enabled developer mode and also enabled Debugging mode, but it still is not working.

How do you know that adbd is missing on Android device? What error message do you get PC-side?

I used Terminal Emulator to start adb Service manually but it's not working.
even I tried to find its executable, it doesn't exist too.
can you please help me to diagnose this problem?

@newdevnoob
OMG
You run ADB on PC, NOT on Android device.
My advice: Become familiar with ADB.

You are right, we run adb on PC but there should be a service that handles those commands so I am saying that there is a problem on the device side, I tried other devices and they are working fine, I only cant use this device with adb, I asked for your help not a joke.

ADB not recognizing device in debugging mode..Help

I am very comfortable working with ADB.
For some reason I cannot get it to recognize my device for the life of me.
Dameon Running etc. etc..
and then error:device not found
Help Please
Same for me .. what's the deal with Galaxy S2
Happens to me too, sometimes, but not only for the SGS2 but for the emulator as well (says "no devices online" even though it's running).
What so far always helped me was to give the adp.exe process a headshot via the Windows TaskManager (i.e. kill the adb process) and restarting it with "adb start-server", giving it a few seconds to settle and try again.
Which drivers have you installed? The google ones or the ones from Kies? Also are you running stock or using an AOSP rom?
hi, i saw this 3rd....i have the same problem. adb doesn't recognize my Samsung GS2. I enabled the debugging mode and set up the system but adb always says "Permission Denied". I use Ubuntu 10.04.
Please need help.

[Q] Rooting MAXX on Mac issue

hello, new user here. just got my maxx in today and love it!
ive been looking online on how to root it on my mac, seems easy enough.
however, went i go to type in "sh run.sh" to run the root exploit, it says:
[*] Waiting for device...
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
then it does nothing and just sits there.
am i missing something? USB debugging is on, it is on Charge Only. i cannot figure out if im missing a step here...
also, this is using the MotoFail exploit, if that helps at all.
so i think it might have to do with USB debugging NOT working. which is odd, phone is stock out of the box right now, why wouldnt it work??
Strange... Have you tried a normal command via adb like "adb get-serialno" if you get your serial number then debug mod is working.

I don't own a mac but you just need to open Terminal and cd to the folder where you extracted motofail.

Need help for rooting, how to enable USB ADB Access

When I connect the phone (SCH-I545, verizon) to the PC, I see two choices shown under the pulldown menu: Connect as Media Device (MTP), or Camera (PTP). And the MTP choice is checked automatically.
I believe my phone has the latest OTA update. And I have turned on the Developer Option, check the "USB Debugging".
Did I miss anything? Please help.

Are the drivers installed?
When you plugged in your phone, did the permission prompt for ADB appear?
What devices show up in the Windows device manager? (Windows/Break, then device manager.) You should see a "Samsung Android ADB Interface" appear if all is correct.
Yes, the drivers are installed. I first installed the samsung usb driver, I installed the kies package given I don't see the USB debugging permission message. Just tried the same thing in ubuntu, same result.
I must have missed something.... Just don't know what it is ....
The phone's developer option is on and debugging is checked,
On PC side the driver is installed. In fact, when I tested this in ubuntu, I ran "adb devices", it saw the phone ....

Got it!
The message showed up after I toggled between those two choices. It was done in ubuntu. Thanks very much.

The "this device is not supported" message means that your phone (m0? What's that?) is patched by the vendor to fix the flaw that Saferoot uses to root it.
You'll have to find another tool to root your phone.
Thank you!

Okei! Thank you for your help. It is a Galaxy SIII.
Just managed to update to Android 4.3 Jellybean at the same time as I changed mobile network operator. Mobile was locked and the NCK code from operator didn't work. Probably need the MCK (Defreeze) code to unlock which operator doesn't have access to. So no mobile phone for me atm.
I used VRoot and used a change-to-SuperSu guide and it worked. Couldn't find anyway to remove the network lock though..
Couldn't post the links on how I rooted and changed to SuperSu since I'm a n00b at this site.
And sorry for maybe posting this in wrong thread!
Best regards
Oscar

Phone not recognized by ADB

Hey guys. I'm trying to root my m8 by using the toolkit. Well, I try to get the Token ID but adb fails since it can't find any devices. I've uninstalled the drivers, re installed, tried different sources, everything and I just can't get it to be recognized by ADB.
Anybody have any ideas? I'm running Win8x64
Regards
Smith
I'm having the same problem

Make sure your SDK is up to date, and that you are opening the command prompt from the proper location. Also make sure that USB debugging is enabled in developer options on the device.
I've had the same issue. I did all of the above and even tried on a Mac and adb still hasn't recognized my phone. Im on win 7x64. Still researching for an answer.
I'm not sure if this will hold true for everyone, but what worked for me was to updat the adp.exe and dlls. Then after I did that, ran the get token script from the toolbox, open the phone to the home screen, and accept the connection request from the computer.
I ended up having to just start the process over again on a different computer, but it worked, so I'm happy lol.

You can also try disabling USB Debugging and re-enabling it while the USB is connected. Works for me so far

Realme 1 issues Android Studio

I recently bought the 6GB, 128 GB variant of Oppo Realme 1. I was excited in the beginning looking at the specs.
But now, I am very disappointed. Even though the phone is great, it isn't serving my purpose. The debug applications run all fine on the phone, the problem is the logcat. No matter what I do, I am unable to get this phone log the events onto to the logcat in Android Studio. I really like this phone and don't wanna just let it go for just this one thing. But at the same time, I can't get my coding done without the logs.
If there's someone with any sort of solution, please let me know.
Thank you.

have you enabled usb debugging?
Hey. Thank you for your reply.
Yes I have turned on the usb debugging..
Here's a list of things I tried..
Disabling and Renabling the usb debugging and the developer options.
Increasing and decreasing the log buffer limit on my phone.
Restarting the device several times.
Resetting the settings of the phone.
Clearing cache both on the phone and Android Studio.
Reinstalling the drivers and reinstalling Android studio.
Changing the USB cable.
Although none of these worked.
Finally, yesterday I factory reset the device and my device is all fine. It started logging again and haven't faced the issue again.
What could have been the proble?? Maybe its one time error?? Hopefully..
you just had to goto
settings->additional setting->developer options
then turn on usb debugging
See my previous reply

Yes I did..
It was just a one time problem. It's all good now..
Thanks
Thanks for the reply Sir. Now I am going to but this phone.
Also it's good to note that adb doesn't work properly when set to mode(USB for Charging)
Almost an year old thread, but can someone help me with adb commands on my realme 1?
1) Do I need unique realme 1 drivers for the device for it to be identified by my PC in the adb list? If yes, where can I get these drivers
2) Will 'minimal adb and fastboot' program work for issuing commands or do I need to get the full fledged android studio?
As of now, when I try to connect (with usb debugging on and tried the usb setting in media, ptp, charging only), it still doesn't identify my device in the list of adb devices
In windows, under device manager, the device is listed under 'other devices - adb interface'
Facing the same issue with my Realme X2 device, it worked for some time and then i tried many ways but it just doesn't show logs in android studio logcat.
