Is it just me, or is Chrome horribly slow on this tablet? Samsung Internet and Firefox are fine, but Chrome ANR'S way too darn often.

Mine works fine. There's a few incidents of it not responding but it's usually solved within seconds and it's not happening with frustrating consistency. Chrome definitely feels slower here on XDA though, don't notice it much on other sites.
Same goes for me. It's slow and laggy compared with the samsung browser. It stops responding time to time especially when you use the split screen view.

Web Broswer is easier. I don't want to be switching to different apps for different forums/sites.
Chrome isn't much slower here, so it's not frustrating enough to require a different way of web browsing.

I don't know a whole lot about this browser. What would be a good reason for applying this hack and switching over? Is this a lot better than some of the other browsers out there? Thanks.
+1 on this.
Not working on my mopho.
Worked for me

I read that it uses amazon servers to load and compress the content, like opera turbo boost. I didn't notice any difference and other than that I don't see anything good enough to stop using dolphin, it actually feels a bit slower for me.
Going to try this out

In my opinion this browser doesn't even work well on the Fire. Had problems just loading pages. Opera has been stellar.

Its ok, it has its issues like being jumpy. So im not a big fan.

every morning after charging my prime overnight I lose all my open tabs in opera browser anyone have a guess as to why? Prime is def. not rebooting or anything Uptime still going.
The closing of tabs randomly in the background is an opera issue. It used to happen all the time on my Nexus S.

Yup. This used to drive me crazy on my Nexus S.
I have a Galaxy Nexus, and the browser is amazing. It really is great. So just hang in there for a few more days.
Also, there's a thread floating around w/ tweaks to make to the current browser in Honeycomb. The tweaks made my browser fly on my Prime. No more lags when scrolling, pinching or zooming. You should definitely check it out (sorry I don't have the link at the moment).
When I press home and go and check my email or anything else, and return to the browser...it returns to the homepage. It does this everytime. It's pretty annoying. I've never run into this on my Inspire 4G. It's like its force closing when I press the home button.
Help?
I noticed this earlier as well on mine.
I think ill just have her use Dolphin. Its what i use anyways.
Same here. I ended up using dolphin.

Anyone found anything on this, maybe a fix?
Its my girlfriend's phone and she says, its fine. I informed her that there are other browsers and changes you can make. Her previous phone...iPhone 4.
She isn't used to Android, and I believe doesn't care enough. Thank god I made the switch before I was brainwashed too.

I exchanged my note under the warranty for that exact same reason. The new note did the same thing. It will even do it with dolphin browser eventually sometimes, though not quite as often. Ever since I rooted it and started using cm9 and AOKP with ics+ browser, it hasn't happened again.
I wish she would let me root it. Lol
I have run several ICS roms on my Inspire and I told her she would love CM9. I guess ill just have to wait for the official ICS update for the Note.

I noticed this as well. Good thing is, it's not an issue with ICS.
I honestly can't say this has happened to me using dolphin (which I installed immediately after purchasing the note)
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
I think it has to do with using more than one browser. If you use dolphin, I think it takes over the allotted usable memory for browsers and wipes the other browser's pages out.
I keep checking every other day or so for.the official update, no luck yet.

It is a very annoying issue. I was holding out on rooting, but I gave in and rooted. Now I use ics+ browser. This doesn't happen anymore. I wonder what the problem is with it when it is stock?
well Dolphin HD and Chrome beta dont do that and are way better than the stock browser
they are free so should check them out
Running ShoStock 2.2, was happening on 2.1 as well.
The facebook app sucks, so I decided to just use the mobile site. However, I get the old site, not the one that looks like the app does. Tried a different browser, same issue. Different user agent, same thing.
Anyone else having this issue?

Same thing.
I don't think it's you. I am on unnamed and this morning I got the same thing. I usually don't use the mobile site, but someone sent me a link in an email.
I agree with the above statements to use Chrome, I just can't yet since I have't made the jump to ICS. comfortable now on GB.
It has nothing to do with ICS its Facebook it self.I got the same thing on my iPhone,iPod HTC(which is on GB). I believe they are trying to get more people to download the application.

That would suck, as the facebook app is awful. If I don't shut it down after using it, it runs the processor non stop, makes the phone hot, and burns the battery down in no time.
My friend with an iphone 4s just tested it and when to the new website.
Yeah it went back to a bare bones text version about 2 weeks ago!?!?!
It used to look like the app on my Galaxy Nexus. It looks crap now.
However, if its FB attempt to force me onto the new app... I won't be going there.
Not impressed with the apps permissions requirements (read and write to SMS folder and also read phonecall history and contact detail)
Will put up with the bare mobile site for the time being.

Haven't tried it on the 4s only on the 3Gs. This isn't the first time they have done it. If they aren't trying to force user to switch to the app they are trying to approve the site.It should be back to normal soon.
Edit: is the login screen the same as it normally? If so it could just be they are trying to improve the new version. My thoughts is because soon everyone is going to be switched to timeline.

touch.facebook.com works.
However on chrome, when scrolling it always flips automattically to top again. Annoying.
touch.facebook.com throws an issue on my phone. It seems this all started happening after last build of 4.0.4 android. ah well...
At first, wasn't digging the briwser, because it's slower than the s4, but this thing is silky smooth with apps and etc.
Although I'm kinda pissed, because the guy I traded with had a pretty busted up ONE, and lied to me on the phone about the phones condition, while I had a mint condition s4.
Overall satisfied. Screen size could be better, but overall nice.
Why do you prefer the ONE over the s4.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I had an htc one, then went to the s4, and bow I'm going back to the one on Tuesday and selling the s4 to a dear friend. I found the stock htc browser faster than touchwiz. Touchwiz lags on me big time. But I found out about next browser a few minutes ago By I really really like it. Works really well. Check it out. But I prefer the one because the interface is cleaner and faster than touchwiz. Also feels better in the hands

Are you talking about the stock HTC browser? Did I get a defective phone? Not being a smart ass. I really think I did. The stock browser literally takes 10-15 seconds to load certain websites.
Chrome is good, but I find that the HTC is horrible with scrolling and moving around the page.

I would imagine load times are very dependent on your internet connection. Especially if the web page contains a lot of pictures/flash/videos/anything besides text.

OK, NVM. Now the stock browser wants to be fast. I must've been doing something really wrong before, or maybe pages loaded from bookmarks are slow. Its very fast now.
I'll keep using, and update if it slows down again. My connection has nothing to do with it. I'm always fast speeds.
