OTG Transfer Speed is so slow - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers
I don't know if this only happen for my poco f1. I use 2tb hard disk to transfer some movies but the transfer speed is so slow. The movie files usually around 800mb to 1gb size. It took so long to transfer 1 movie let alone transfer 2-3 movies.
My friend has Redmi note 9, he tried using my hardisk with the same OTG to transfer 4 movies, it only took him about 15 min. Doesn't even drain his battery. My transfer speed never exceeds 1mb/s. Which drained my battery very fast. And itll took about 30min+ to complete a transfer. While my friends transfer speed is around 32 mb/s. I know redmi note 9 is a slightly new phone. But i wanna know why does poco transfer speed is so slow.
I did use various file manager, it didnt really show any significant difference. Though using stock file manager is slightly slower.
Currently on v4.5 android 10 corvus custom rom.

Try to transfer your files into airplane mode (Don't surprise because otg not working with my poco if I'm not enabling airplane mode), If it's the same problem, try to check your flash drive transfer speed on your pc via usb 2.0 port if it's ok try to change otg device, Try also 3rd party file manager from google play store (like x-plore or file manager +),
Please note I'm using stock miui non rooted and by steps above I can reach over 30 MB/s transfer rate

Hi Thanks. I did try airplane mode it didnt do nothing. Does airplane mode let your phone recognised your hardisk or it speed up your transfer speed? Also what drive did you use?

I'm using SHARE ME from MIUI with Connect to PC option. It creates FTP connection via my 5GHz WiFi and I have speed about 150-200Mb/s

Airplane mode makes transfer process stable, because if I'm not in airplane mode the otg keeps disconnecting during transfer, The drive I used is kingstone but it doesn't matter, Try to test its speed on pc via usb 2.0 port

In custom ROMs, 5GHz in Hotspot mode is limited to Wifi n only(144Mbps). No Wifi AC 867Mbps sadly. Max. I get is 6-8MB/s,occassionally upto 10MB/s.
Edit: In A11 at least in crDroid 7.x this has finally been fixed. 15-20MB/s on average. I expected higher speeds as my old Redmi Note 3 with 1x1 433Mbps adapter did 30-32MB/s consistently.

When I plug my camera in to my host cable, it shows up as an external camera. I can take photos an then transfer them to the internal flash or upload to the web with wifi. On the player (mine is a 32it), there don't seem to be any apps that allow the camera to be used as an external directly? not sure what to expect even if there was?
Sweet I haven't tried it yet.. thanks for the good news..
[Q] Slow Transfer Speed (USB)
When I connect my Tab 10.1 to my PC (usb debugging is off) I can access the tablet through the explorer. However when I try to copy to / from the Tab it takes ages. ~18min for 3gig. Same USB port Galaxy S is MUCH faster. Is there any way to increase the transfer speed?
I have same question. And another one: is there possibility to see Tab in Total Commander? Because if it is connected to PC, I can see it in Explorer as disk drive but not in Total Commander.

And I don't think it is repairable
Damn, how are there guys copying their MP3 library to the tab? Just keep it running over night?
I noticed the same issue with slow transfers when moving movies over, I moved a few playlists over wifi using kies and out didn't take to long, movie was taking forever over wifi using kies so I went with usb.
Anyone try SD-Booster? https://market.android.com/details?id=de.mehrmann.sdbooster&feature=search_result Its suppose to increase the cache size which makes transferring faster for USB. Stock cache is 128 KB and the app allows you to increase it up to 2048 KB or higher pershoot already has what the app does built into his kernel if you want to try a custom kernel. His is set to 1024 KB I think.
[Q] Transferring Between Android Devices
Hi, I'm going on vacation soon and since my tablet (10.1) has only a limited amount of space, I was wondering if there is a quick and easy way to transfer files (movies and tv shows, ~700mbs) from my android phone (s3) to the tablet, without the use of the internet, as I might not have any internet connect and I wont be bringing my laptop. Thanks for the help.
wifi direct in the settings menu or try an app called airdroid if you have a wifi router. Using the browser you can via wifi download and upload files Sent from my GT-P7500 using xda app-developers app
Or get a USB OTG dongle (if your phone supports mass storage).
It can be quite slow, but I've used bluetooth to transfer files as large as 180MB between my phone and galaxy tab before. You could try packaging your files in a zip (use es file explorer or something similar) and then transferring with bluetooth (keep in mind, it can take around 10 mins to copy ~200MB).
Wifi file sender. Make one device a wifi hotspot. Then connect the other and run the app on both devices. You'll know what to do... Sent from my cm7 - powered Nokia 3210

Click to collapse I find myself in this situation because I travel pretty frequently abroad and for stays shorter than a month I bring with me only my smartphone (Galaxy Note) and my tablet (G.Tab 10.1" 3G) and there are tons of options: - Wi-Fi direct. it's built-in in both the G.Tab and the S3 and you don't need internet, routers or cables and it's pretty fast, it's probably the best option for what you need - free apps like Airdrop or Samsung Kies Air or (the one I use most because has both a browser-based files transfer and an FTP server, I have the paid version) Remote Web Desktop (for these you need a router though) - an USB OTG adaptor for the G.Tab (AFAIK there is only the original Samsung one) and then connect the S3 as "mass storage device" (check in the settings, on my Note it's under "Wireless and networks"-->"USB settings"-->"Connect as mass storage device". you can also use an USB flash drive to store your movies or even a PC hard disk if it's in a powered external case - the SD memory card reader adaptor from Samsung. same as the USB adaptor except you connect to it SD cards or microSD cards in an SD size adaptor. you can for example connect to the G.Tab the microSD card from your S3 (since you seem to store whole movies on your S3 I assume you are using also removable memory in it) - Bluetooth (exactly like Wi-Fi direct except it's way slower) I personally use all of the above methods, it all depends on what you have to transfer. Apps like Airdroid, Kies Air and Remote Web Desktop I use mainly at home with my PC (I hate using cables so rarely use the Note's and the G.Tab's USB cables with the PC), between my tablet and smartphone for small and few files I use Bluetooth, for big but few files I use Wi-Fi direct, for many files of whatever size I use both the USB OTG and SD card reader adaptors from Samsung (at the time I bought the G.Tab they were sold together with a small discount and they are both useful in slightly different ways).

I bought my USB connector for my Tab 10.1 for around £3 off eBay and also the USB connector for my S2 for around £2 from the same place (3 cheers for the 'Bay' ). Easy as pie and is a great help when travelling...
I've bought TWO (one at home other at office) of this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-Conne...uting_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item20c67757be Perfect!!! Plus with the cheapest(smaller) card reader : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-All-I...Readers_RL&hash=item2eb13e7e1e#ht_2399wt_1187 Just think the tablet could bring this interface on stock, but works just fine.
I personally use WiFi Direct for big files like that, not really tried folders or multiple files (I'll give out a go tonight though) but of tone not tried that feature, you should, it's one of those features that I think should be highlighted more by Samsung in my opinion. Cyanogen Mod 9 slow USB file transfter
I have been searching the boards for the past few days about this known issue. Does anyone know how to fix it? When you use the USB to transfer files the transfer rate is usually 500 kb/s or so. Its not terrible if you just want to transfer a photo or a song, but when you want to transfer videos or other large files it takes a really long time. I did find an app that lets you transfer files via WiFi. It works very well but I need to transfer these files to other computers that are not within my network. Its not the USB cable it self or the computers usb port. I used the same cable on other phones and it works fine.
