I can't install new recovery (twrp) on my Samsung J320FN - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everybody, i am a newbie and i am trying to install a more recent OS on my J3 that has been installed with Android 5.1 by factory.
The first thing i tried is to install twrp on it and i did it with Odin but every release i try, does'nt install except for a old release (3.0.2) that i am able to install but receiving an error (RECOVERING IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING).
With this twrp release i am able to enter and operate so i have tried to Clean the device (according many internet manuals i found on internet) but when i go to install new zip file i receive an error and the device becomes unusable (i cannot go in to recovery nor start the normal operations, the only thing i can do is to enter in download mode).
So i have to reprogram it with the original firmware that i downloaded from Samfirm and i made another try (i have made many, many tries with no success)

[OPX][OXYGEN OS] | Stuck into recovery mode after OTA update

Hi there !
Today, after downloading an OTA update, my phone told me "Installation Failed", and now, it is stuck in recovery mode after booting.
I've been rooted (using kingroot im a nub ikr) but unroot as soon as possible cause i only needed to change the MAC adress of my phone to be able to use it in a hotel. Then, as i said, unroot, change back to my original MAC adress, install OTA and boom, stuck into recovery mode without any possibility to boot, normal or fastboot. I tried to wipe data and cache but it doesn't work. I've been looking to this thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-x/help/oneplus-x-stuck-recovery-failed-ota-t3262390 ) but, unfortunately, i don't have any SD card, so my questions are, will the thread method work if i buy a new SD card ?
And will i have to download and flash the full rom or only the OTA ?
PS: No custom ROM, no custom recovery. || Sorry for english, french student and not really pro.
Never OTA with root installed/adjustments made. You could manually download the OTA zip and flash it.
hi
1st are u on stock recovery or twrp
download the full rom place it on the root of ur sd or internal storage NOT in any folder
do a full wipe and flash the rom u should be ok good luck
I fixed my issue, i was on stock recovery wich means you can't access the storage, here is what i've done -->
Install ADB+Fastboot
Connect Phone to PC in fastboot mode
Flash twrp after unlocking bootloader
Now phone recognized, i've downloaded stock onyx ROM from one plus
Then i've flashed the ROM from twrp and my phone finally boot...
Full tutorial for those experiencing that issue

Leagoo Shark 1 - Flashing TWRP

Hi guys, after a long hiatus from XDA , I am now back in need of more advice.
I simply cannot seem to flash TWRP recovery on this phone.
I have followed multiple guides and nothing is working.
I have installed all the necessary drivers and I have tried multiple different versions of flash tool and TWRP Roms.
On an older version of flash tool, my phone just sits off and flash tool finishes by bugging out with an error like "the phone booted too quickly".
I then tried a new version of flash tool and it did actually seem to flash TWRP ,however when I boot into recovery, my phone bugs out for a split second and then boots into standard os.
Can anyone help me?
Managed to fix the issue with some perserverance!
But what did you do ? I got the same problem.

[Q] Can't flash or enter into custom recovery on chinese tablet

Hi, I want to install custom rom on my tablet but I can't flash or enter into any custom recovery I know.
Tablet specs:
It's a chinese BDF tablet 10''
Brand: JTY
Board: KT107_L1_20160428
Procesor: MT6580
Kernel: 3.10.72+
Android: 6.0 Marshmallow
I tried to do it using many tutorials and many ways founded on many forums, including this, without success.
During these attempts I unlocked root and bootloader, installed on my pc ADB drivers, Google USB drivers, MTK vcom drivers, PdaNet, on my device PdaNet, BusyBox, TWRP manager and ROM manager.
First I tried to install TWRP recovery using the newest recovery from their website and 3 others recoverys which I found on the internet and should be dedicated for my tablet. I installed each one of them using ADB in Command window, SP flash tool and Easy magic TWRP installer, which is dedicated for any MediaTek device, both ways: manual and automatic. Every attemp was successful but every time when I checked in TWRP manager, it said what I don't have any custom recovery installed on the device, when I tried to enter into it through the boot menu it wasn't entering into TWRP, only the chinese stock recovery.
Then I tried with Easy magic PhilZ 6 installer, but the effect was the same.
At the end I tried to install CWM using MTK Droid Tools, but this program doesn't see my device and I couldn't fix this.
Could any of you help me somehow, explain or give me a right recovery file so that it works. I really want to change my Android to a LineageOS and I'm tired of my fails. I'm working on this 5 days, accidently bricked it, stucked on bootloop and stucked on logo screen so many times that I can't even count, I'm desperate for help.
any luck yet ?
Hi !
I have the exact same issues with my Chinese BDF tablet. No matter how i try to Flash a custom bootloader to the tablet, it simply wont work... Even tho it looks like i succeed, whenever i want to boot into the custom bootloader, it always boot into the installed chinese bootloader, and the chinese bootloader wont let med flash custom firmware to the tablet. Let me know if you find a fix, and i will do the same if i succeed installing a different bootloader
I did not see this specifically in your question so as far as i understand it. You first flash the twrp.img, this is a temporary boot file. DO NOT REBOOT YET. flash Magisk.zip and twrp.zip - now reboot and you should be rooted.

Having encrypted device and root, is it possible with Android Galaxy A8 (SM-A530F)?

So I have rooted my Android Galaxy A8 (SM-A530F) Android version 9. To do this I used TWRP to install RMM_Bypass_v3_corsicanu.zip, no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip-6.0 and Magisk-v19.3.zip. Everything works fine, but I cannot encrypt the device! I have also tried the fast encryption option with no luck.
I tried a couple of suggestions from the following forum post https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/how-to/guide-how-to-root-device-encryption-t3742493?nocache=1 namely where it says:
- Flash the stock book.img back in Odin and apply no-verity-opt-encrypt in TWRP. Use 7-Zip to create a tar only containing the stock BOOT.IMG and flash it in Odin using the AP slot.
- Flash back a TWRP backup taken of the boot partition before installing a root ROM, but after flashing no-verity-opt-encrypt.
After following the two options listed above the phone just un-roots!
I have also tried to shuffle the order in which the three zip files(mentioned earlier) are installed via TWRP with no success.
Does anyone know of any other solutions to having both encryption with root? Are there other better ways to root the phone that might enable encryption?
Grateful for any help, thanks.

TWRP 3.3.1 on BV9500 Plus

Hi,
Firstly, sorry for the lack of references in my post, as this is my first one, I'm not allowed to add URLs.
I recently purchased a Blackview BV9500 Plus and I have been trying to flash TWRP, I wanted to try different custom ROMs since the stock ROM for BV9500 PLus is apparently no longer updated (info comes from a Blackview forum).
The TWRP version that I'm trying to flash is 3.3.1 for BV9500 Plus (unofficial).
I have tried different ways, using fastboot flash recovery, using SPFlashTool and flash directly the recovery file, and it looks like the flashing succeeded but I have never been able to boot into TWRP. When I turn on the phone pression the Volume UP key, I see the Blackview logo (which sometimes appears color inverted black <-> white) and then nothing happens, it goes back to rebooting until I let go of the Volum UP key, then it starts normally. I even tried with a different TWRP version (3.2.3 for Android 9.0 Pie MT6771, unofficial) with same results ...
I unlocked the bootloader (ticked it in the phone settings) and did a fastboot flashing unlock, I tried rooted (with last version of Magisk with which I patched the boot.img and flashed), not rooted ... with no luck ... (I even lost my IMEI after a complete format with SPFlash along with the googlekey, fortunately I was able to reflash everything thanks to BV support :victory
Many thanks in advance for your help, I have been trying to figure this all out for a few days now ...
Best regards.
