[PROBLEM] Can't access to fastboot menu. - LG G Watch

Hi there!
I had the following situation:
My watch first ran out of battery.
Then I waited a long time for a new one to come.
I changed the battery and tried to install firmware via fastboot. Honestly, I don’t remember exactly how it all ended. But it didn’t work out.
And now (after a few months) I decided to try again to solve the problem, but my fastboot menu does not open at all.
As a result, I have a bootloop with 4 icons and that's it.
Can you please advise a solution?

Please, help... Anyone.
I didn't find solution yet....

How to enter fastboot
Keep the power button pressed at the bottom of the watch above the pogo pins. The moment it restarts and shows the LG logo. keep swiping swipe from the top left corner diagonally towards bottom right. Also, the first boot takes a really long time so be wary of that.

I wrote the following in another thread, where I was also emphasizing a touchscreen calibration problem that plagues me during normal use of the OS.
Question #1: Does anyone know a workaround for this "un-clickable" Fastboot screen area that must be clicked on to get into fastboot mode and flash a new ROM?
Question #2: Does Anyone know what settings will allow me to keep the screen configuration set to "SensePeriodical"?

*Issue #1*
##########
The main point for posting this as a new topic is summed up by the sentence: "The area of the screen with an unbounded word "FastBoot" has not been clickable at all."
After booting while holding down the UP/DOWN volume buttons, I get the following.
I see only:
1. (Top Left) "Touch Calibration"
2. (Top Right) "FastBoot"
3. (Bottom Left) "Press:"
4. (Bottom Right) --Phone keypad with numeric buttons and the two labels "CLS" and "Enter" on their own buttons.
The area of the screen with an unbounded word "FastBoot" has not been clickable at all.
The first time I tried to boot into fastboot this way, these things appeared and then I attempted to use the numeric keypad --and each attempt failed, printing the wrong character. When I pressed "1", then for example, the number "6" would appear.
I then pressed the top volume button and the screen went dark. After ~3 seconds, the screen was repopulated identically, *except* for the word "FAIL" beneath the "Touch Calibration" on the top left.
I then retried without rebooting. This time, all my keypresses were accurate. I pressed the top volume button again, and the screen went dark again. The same display reappeared, along with the word "FAIL" in red beneath "Touch Calibration".
I then rebooted into fastboot again --but this time, all of my key-presses were accurate the first time. I filled up the 10 characters of space after the "Press" item on the bottom left by pressing the number pad buttons in sequence. I then pressed the top volume button, but then got the red "FAIL" when the screen came back on.
This phone was rooted (at least) once, then updated to 2.1, then (I believe) flashed with a 1.6 image. After the first aforementioned update, wiped with a factory reset.

*Issue #2
##########
Touch screen mis-calibration problems were reported/observed after the first manual ROM flash. That has still been a problem for me since acquiring the Streak, and the only workaround I have yet found is a temporary adjustment using one of the engineering tools beneath the Eng. menu item "EMlist". This workaround is only functional until the screen goes to sleep, and then I get the same behavior from the touchscreen that forces me to trickily press items quickly or in a swiping motion, which is maddeningly inefficient.
Here is that little "procedure", as I typed it up:
################################
1. Enable Engineering apps by dialing *#*#307#*#* into the Phone Keypad.
2. In Application drawer, Go to "EMlist"
3. In "EMlist", go to "Touch Panel".
4. In "TouchPanel", go to "Configuration"
5. In "Configuration", under "Interrupt Mode", I changed the selected radio button from "CoordinateCompare" to "SensePeriodical" --and the keyboard began to behave as I'd hope, with no trace of the difficulties before. However, upon opening that applet up to this point, I observed that the value had reset itself to "CoordinateCompare". There is apparently an "OK" button below there that needs to be pressed in order to save the Configuration change. However, upon reboot, the same old problems reappeared, and the setting had reverted to "CoordinateCompare". There must be a way to hard code this setting, but I'm not sure just where.
################################
Does Anyone know what settings will allow me to keep the screen configuration set to "SensePeriodical"?
The speculation from the last owner is that this may be hardware failure in the digitizer, which would kind of stink because I can't get Dell to fix or trade out this device from the Texas beta program.
I'm really hoping that this is a software issue, especially seeing how changing from the "CoordinateCompare" Touchpanel Configuration setting solves the main problem 100%, if only temporarily.
I'd love to get more input or feedback about this problem, and I also hope that this post of mine helps someone else make shareable progress.
Sounds like a hardware issue to me. Can it be sent back for repair?
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
It cannot be sent back for repair since it is a Beta hardware model.
If it be a hardware problem, then it's really kind of odd that the change in sensory detection or interpretation makes a 100% improvement. The "Interrupt Methd" should not be able to correct a hardware problem that would otherwise be really pervasive, don't you think?
I reallyy appreciate the feedback!
I think that the most important question for me and my little orphan is: "How do I make a permanent change to my Streak's 'interrupt Method'?" If it can be done satisfactorily with the utility in question, then where is the configuration file (in /etc, I'd imagine) where I can manipulate it?
Everything in the running GUI environment for the touchscreen is made better by this adjustment, but I don't know how to make it a persistent configuration change rather than a temporary one (and it is temporary when I change it with 'Emlist', reverting when the screen goes to sleep),
On top of that, I'm getting USB errors --oh, nevermind.
I have observed in my gnu-linux syslog that I'm getting:
###########################################
Sep 21 21:00:50 $HOST kernel: usb 2-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4
Sep 21 21:00:55 $HOST kernel: usb 2-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71
###########################################
...from the Streak when on the first FastBoot screen.
EDIT: Nevermind --My USB connection has been fine for ADB operations, so this is of no consequence.
I had this problem, such that the device was essentially unusable. Dell replaced my phone. I've seen on various forums that a number of people have this- hopefully Dell gets a fix for it.
Sounds like you took a spin on the Beta roulette wheel and lost. Sucks to be you, but youre not the only one, if it makes you feel better.

Do you mean that you had a USB problem or the Calibrate Screen problem?
My USB connection has been fine for ADB operations.
I have just noted that my first FastBoot screen lacks the border of dashes that can be seen at 01:58 of this HOWTO video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDXH17USk-g . I have never gotten a glimpse of the screen that appears at 01:31 of the video.
The FastBoot item on the first fastboot screen is not clickable, no matter how hard I press or how widely I go for a click/press.
This makes me think that the FastBoot "problem" may not be intrinsically related to the touchscreen's problem.
Any ideas? I am starving for ideas, especially since I just tried to use 'flash_image boot.img' from a Modaco recipe, which has left me unable to access the OS.
Also, there is no ADB access from the Dell recovery console. Is that true of all these Streaks? All I've ever gotten while in that recovery mode is "Device not found".
I had the calibration issue.
philverb, try a screen calibration, that might help.

I tried to take note in the OP that screen calibration actions in the Recovery Console and in the first screen of FastBoot do not work, failing with a big, red-lettered "FAIL".
Did you have something else in mind?
Maybe. I don't get the fastboot screen when I power up with both volume buttons pressed. I get a different screen, which has a couple options including screen calibration, but not fastboot. After calibrating there, you may have some luck.

There are two things here: the Recovery Console and the Fastboot Console/Screens.
Recovery Screen: hold down both volume buttons while powering up. You then get a menu of Four items:
1. Factory Reset
2. Software upgrade via Update.zip on SD Card
3. Screen calibration
4. Power off
--The Screen calibration has its own contextual instruction screen that indicates to "Press volume down key to calibration screen, Press camera key to exit." [grammatical errors not mine]
**This screen calibration for me fails with "FAIL" in red letters, no matter how many times I try.**
FastBoot Screen: hold down Camera button while powering up. This is where, as I have said a couple of times, the word "FastBoot" appears in the top right, but it is not surrounded by dashes as it is in the video I mentioned ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDXH17USk-g) at 01:58 of the video. It is the missing dashes that appear to define that "FastBoot" area as a button. In my version of the bootloader/fastboot thing, that area appears just to be a "dummy" area and intended not to be a clickable button.
--There is also a non-clickable area labeled "Touch calibration" in the top left screen, and I can activate it by using the left-hand volume button.
**When activated, this function makes the screen go dark, then returns to the original screen (also described in great detail in the original post), but then has the word "FAIL" in letters highlighted in red.
I really do appreciate your interest, and I hope that it doesn't seem tedious that I repeat myself in order to try to clarify, since you seemed to have gotten the wrong idea from the laborious detail I threw into the original post.
I think that what you have just mentioned is included in what I've been saying I have seen, no?
Thanks!
Did you tried opening the streak and reseating the touch panel cable? When I opened my streak just to check it out I saw a finger print in the camera connector, that made me think that MAYBE some wires weren't fitting 100%. Just a tought.
Good thinking....

That's a strong thought, and I thank you for it. My phone is (semi) bricked at the moment I am wondering now about the question of whether or not the screen problem may itself be preventing the FastBoot GUI from creating the border and therefore a clickable button.
I never get the the button border that is visible at 01:58 of the video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDXH17USk-g .
What do you think?

New streak, start up and it freezes (HELP)

i just got my dell streak and so far when i press the start button i see the dell logo and then the screen just hangs there (black) until i remove the battery. I tried to charge the battery up to full but i since i do not see a battery charging indicator i really dont know what to do with it. help
everything is stock, i dont even know if its GB or not since i havent been able to start it up It's a rogers phone though
Tried a factory reset
Sent from my Dell Streak using xda premium
yeah i tried that. i also went into fastboot and it says on the bottom "default nv checked #2" and i cannot click on the fastboot option. When i press the volume rocker up or down the screen goes dark and then comes back in a little bit saying that the "screen calibration FAILED"
i did however succeed one time in getting the screen calibration to "pass" and then i was able to press the fastboot option. From there i used the DSC installer "flash" exe and it updated the phone. Then after the reboot i was able to see the lock screen but unable to press any buttons.
im figuring
1) the touch screen is defective, hence iam unable to press anything and thus the screen calibration keeps failing
2) the connect to the touch screen is broken or lose and i might need to open'her up to see
3) fack it, ill just tell rogers to send a replacement.
So far ive done step 3 but since its the weekend, i felt like tinkering.

[Q] Black Screen and Loading... Loop

Hi All,
I've been coming here for a good while, reading articles, looking up help tips, and I gotta say, XDA is super helpful! I love reading about the new apps and seeing what people are making. But now, I'm running into a problem that I'm having trouble finding an exact duplicate or matching answer for. I've been looking through the boards and I see some things regarding somewhat what my phone just started doing, but it seems like everything is for custom roms or kernels. The difference between them and mine is that I'm on stock, nothing modded on my evo 4g lte at all.
This morning, I checked weather on my phone, loaded up some music and headed off to work. When I got to my office, I turned the volume down to vibrate only and plugged in the USB cable so it charges during the day while it buzzes from twitter updates or txt messages, etc. Anyway, about an hour or so ago, I turned on my phone and saw the lock screen, but it was different than what it normally is. Normally the lock screen has the weather on it but this time it had just the normal field wallpaper (one of the stock images). I pulled the ring from the bottom of the screen to unlock it and the phone immediately went to a black screen with the little box that says "Loading..." for about 2 seconds, then disappears. The buttons on the bottom (back, home, open apps) are unresponsive. I can, though, see the bar at the top with the time, signal, etc. and I can drag it down and see any kind of notifications in there. If I click the settings button, nothing happens, however the bottom phone button to show me open apps, it starts to work. I see little app cards for settings, but if I tap it, it zooms to the screen but it's still black.
After about 10 seconds, I see the "Loading..." box pop up, disappear, pop up, disappear, continually.
I called my phone from a land line and I could answer, but if I left the phone screen, it was just black. Eventually, an error came up that says "com.htc.bgp" has stopped unexpectedly. I hit don't send the error, it goes away, and I'm back to a blank (black) screen with "Loading..." continually popping up and disappearing.
Also, I can pull the task bar down and select the USB option and then select any of the other functions...HTC Sync Manager, Charge Only, Disk Drive, etc.
Every now and then, when I see "Loading..." pop up, I can see a stock HTC image (the orange colored fields picture) flash on screen just before it goes black.
I'm really stuck and don't know what to do. I'd love to try to save everything that's on here if possible (images/movies saved to internal storage). But if not possible, then oh well. I was able to find this link forum.radioshack.wdsserve.com/t5/Sprint-Discussion/How-do-I-hard-reset-an-HTC-EVO-4G-LTE/m-p/17981 on how to do a factory wipe, but is there any other options I could try first? Also, what do the other options under this section mean; like clear storage, is that like wiping a browser's history?
Thanks,
Sin.
Update: My EVO kept looping the "Loading..." message, even when I did a power-off by holding the power button for 10 seconds. I found out, though, that if I did the force shutdown (hold pwr for 10 secs roughly), keep holding until it buzzed at me, then when the phone turns on hold volume down and the EVO will boot into safe mode. It would have the "SAFE MODE" logo at the bottom corner of the screen, but it booted up without anything other than stock apps on the screen. I'd do that, let it sit for a while, go to sleep, wake it up, sleep, wake up, etc. It never went to that black screen that just said "loading..." Everything seemed ok, so I did a normal restart, let it load up, and all seems to be good now.
I was using live wallpapers before, but when i switched back into safe mode, I made sure that just a stock wallpaper was set. I think that may have been the problem, maybe one of the live wallpapers got corrupted? Who knows.
So if anyone's having trouble, try the safe mode trick, remove anything crazy, then reboot normally...do that before wiping out.

[Q] Samsung Note 3 Lollipop Issues (Sprint Stock Build)

So i was just forced to install Lollipop by Sprint. I was having a minor S-Pen issues and Sprints "FIX" was to update me to Android 5.0 Lollipop. Well now I have 500000000 other issue with my phone. Most i can live with, but there are 2 in particular that at driving me absolutely bonkers and I cant fix. I was hoping someone around here would have an idea how to fix it without me having to root, and go back to the previous OS. (The Sprint Root seems a little intimidating and I cant afford to brink my phone even for 20 minutes).
The main issues I am having are regarding the lock screen. I cant get the lock screen to stay open more then 3 or 4 seconds and if I botch my pattern or don't swipe fast enough, the screen will turn itself off. Then I have to turn the screen back on and try and unlock it again. Sometimes the screen even turns off in the middle of trying to unlock it. It is EXTREMELY annoying having to try and unlock my phone 4 or 5 times just to get to the notification screen ...... As for the Notification screen, once i finally am able to get my phone unlocked, then when i try and swipe my notification bar the phone will sometimes turn the screen off as well, then I have to go BACK to trying to unlock the phone and try and do everything faster then 2 jack rabbits banging in order to just get to my notifications. Its become a major problem in that sometimes I just cant get the sequence and speed right for 10 or 15 tries.
Anyone else having these issues or have a fix???

I can't say I had any problems like this. I was running Stock rooted OC5 for a while and had really no problems with it. I didn't have any pattern or pin unlock though, so maybe it would have been different? I would have stayed stock but my Flashaholic took hold and made to start trying out other ROMs.
As for rooting, I have found it very easy to root this phone. I haven't had a problem either using auto-root or flashing superSU.
Factory reset is easy.

before a factory reset, you might try doing a wipe of the cache partition.
turn your phone off
press and hold, Volume up + home key + power until you see the blue booting to recovery mode message
wait for recovery mode to display (the menu will show after the green robot)
use the volume rocker to move down to wipe cache partition and press the power button to select it.
now select the yes line and press power
now reboot your phone and see if that helps with the lock screen behavior
good luck

Sorry for bad quality this was the best I could do since the text was very tiny
I was downloading PUBG from the google play store (I have no idea if that has to do with anything but the app was 600+ MB), browsing reddit on the Reddit is Fun app. Then I locked my phone, and after a couple of minutes pushed the power button to unlock it. The screen didn't light straight away, and after 5 seconds it lit up with the lock screen. I entered my combination to unlock, and my lock pattern disappeared and only my lock screen wallpaper was showing. I just stared at it, waiting.
After around half a minute I tried pushing the power button again, but nothing happened. That's when I removed the battery, put it back in and booted the phone. That's when the text in the picture showed up. I looked around and there was only one guy on the internet with the exact same problem and he got no replies. Please help me if you know the solution. Thanks for everyone who read all of this.
