Congratulations!!!! Amazing ROM!!!

Hey, I finally tried this rom. And I will say this rom is perfect for me. I mean seriously, I can't believe that you don't have any pc. It's first time when I experienced this type of smoothness in any android q roms. All of the other roms are good but they are not very responsive , specially when you swipe across the notification panel.
Also , this rom has truly functional gesture navigation , which is my favourite I mean there are many other q roms out there ,for this device but none of them provide the back gesture , which is only present in your rom and as it is pixel experience then it is also clear that this rom feels much smoother than any other rom. And one more thing which I noticed is this rom booted in less than 3 minutes which is really quite empressive . Before the release of this rom , I was using aokp Oreo rom ported by franssisco funes because that rom is very smooth and stable than any other pie and q roms but now this rom is going to be my daily driver.
And once again thankyou very much for this great gift.

Hey dude! Thx a BUNCH for bringing PE (10.0) for this device, I have been testing out many ROMs and I'm download it and gonna test it today I hope, but my fear is it won't be getting more support and updates.
But as far as I could understand, it has a maintainer, right? So that means it will still be supported...?
And is there any chance of this build getting official support?

I am trying to make it more and more stable but i will not assure you of regular updates or making it official because right now i have only $30 credits left in my Google Cloud out of $300 credits of trial and i don't have a single dime in my credit card since from last one and half year, so therefore i apologize for not making it official and for regular updates?.

Oh dude, sorry if I "sounded" mean, I didn't mean it, I am Brazilian so I might type stuff in a bad way sometimes, but anyway, you're a genius just for having done it all without a PC, and I just started testing it and I really wanna use it as a daily driver, battery seems to be way better than in other ROMs, I just hope you don't drop support for it, that's what I meant. And I hope u get more money soon.

Lol sorry thought i put it in there just the same as others no rom is better on battery all the same
I appreciate all you guys input. You're right, rom is a bit bare ATM, the guys at TH are now getting in full swing in getting all their devices setup. This is where we start to add more goodies to this. I just wanted to let you know that XenonHD is not dead and all of us was simply waiting for Lollipop to finally get their source stable enough for us to work with it. I plan to add some extras to get battery better than it is now, since this is my daily on my device.
This rom is really buttery smooth. but face black screen when open some apps, especially opening the setting of the apps.

I think I know what he's saying. I installed the ROM but quickly noticed that tasks which can be interpreted by multiple apps (like when you click on a picture and it asks what you want to use to open it), rather than a menu asking what app you'd like to use, the screen just dims a little. It does this for videos, pictures, and it wouldn't go to the launcher before I went into settings and selected a default one. So I suppose the issue is with the menu itself, but for some reason it doesn't show up. Otherwise, the ROM seems to work fine in every aspect. Apps open quickly and fluidly, other than this one bug I see no trouble with this as a daily.
Edit: I'm using the most recent PA apps, which I flashed simultaneously with the rom.

AOKP-ANDROID OPEN KANG PROJECT
What is AOKP?
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.
Why AOKP ?
We were waiting for when you'd ask this.
There are a variety of reasons why a hilly billy Android user, on a bright sunny day, would suddenly start using AOKP and loving it.
For one, AOKP is lightweight. Most OEMs provide a heavy UI layer over Android and have loads of bloatware (i.e. apps that not everyone use every day, but you cannot remove because they're "baked in" by default). Since AOKP is built upon vanilla Android source, it has neither of the above.
Also AOKP has features that you will not find on your stock firmware. You can have a multitude of toggles to quickly flip a lot of your phone's settings right at your fingertips, or you can launch apps quickly from any screen using our Ribbons.
You can change almost each and every aspect of the OS, from its looks to the way it functions, with total freedom. And did we tell you, AOKP helps you make tacos?

woow..another Nougat from s.sawrav, nice.. :good: any screenshots please?
I'm sorry for this. I really don't understand, what is the point of making so many custom roms with unsolved bugs? I think, it will be more effective if you use your valuable free time to solve known bugs than create a new custom rom. Sorry, I'm just a user, didn't give any help to developer. But I truly love your works, and other dev works too. Please, I don't have any negative intents. Thanks for your works. :good:

I don't need to give you an explanation or anything but i need to say this, you don't know me,i'm not a dev,i'm just an android enthusiast but i learn along the way,i do what i can do,i contribute if i can,and i do all this because i'm interested in doing so,i compile ROM's that i like or am excited about,i fix things if i can,I did the AOKP build because i have been maintaining it(unofficially) since MM and i wanted to try nougat,so i did,and i shared it as i always do.
Now i don't understand what's the issue with that?Who is anyone to tell me/advice me what i do with my free time?Is anyone paying me?
And about the bug's do you think if i knew a solution to a certain bug,i wouldn't fix it?Nougat is still in early stages, hell, soon there will be another rebase, bug's will come and so will fixes, but it takes time and patience, and that's what XDA user's don't have.Everyone here is allowed to contribute in anyway they want to,but all i see here is a sense of entitlement and judgement.
Anyway,I'm sorry for the inconvenience but i'll still do what i like.:good:
i am very much familiar with this AOKP,
but i have few questions, (i will change the reply after my questions are answered)
1. Is VOLTE working......[you updated the title..just want to correct you ; VOLTE does work on many roms(CM13,zyphyr,HTC remix, etc)
2. Selinux
3. Is Busybox installed
4. How is the Performance
5. What is Antutu score
6. Substratum is working.
7. Will AOKP help me making sauce too while helping me making tacos .
I'm looking forward to this ROM , and thinking of making it my daily driver.

The AOKP goodness that you've always known
now for our phone!
Special thanks goes out to Team AOKP for putting this awesome rom together for us to play with!
I hate making these threads, but anyone who has been around for a short amount of time knows what AOKP is all about so I will leave it at that. The old Rom Control is there with all of the available mods, and everything seems to be working just fine with the phone moving right along.
Here is what you need to do:
1. Reboot into TWRP
2. Make a backup (I don't wanna be blamed for crap)
3. Wipe everything except your internal storage and external sd card (or if you wanna do a full wipe, knock yourself out)
4. Install AOKP (link below)
5. Install Gapps (opengapps works good)
6. Flash Magisk for root.
7. Reboot and enjoy!
Grab the latest AOKP here (12/17/17):

And last but not least, the sources:

If he built it from LOS & AOKP sources without modification then its 6.0. I don't think anyone is working on adapting to the 7.0 modem/radio yet.

Any thoughts on the battery life? I'm also having wonky battery with CRDroid 3.7. (Still think 3.6 was better) Lockscreen shortcuts aren't a deal breaker for me.

I'm going back to CRDroid, I'm gonna give 3.6 a shot, just make a back up and see how it does. I tried the final RR, but it was really buggy for me
I really like lockscreen short cuts, I use them a lot and its the only thing that has kept me away from Dirty Unicorn
I've been using this ROM for 4 days now. It's definitely one of the best. I'd place it in the top 3 for me, alongside GZR and AICP. Thank you for making this.
I have noticed much better battery life than other ROMs, but idk if it's the ROM or that I haven't installed a few particular apps. In any case, very smooth, very stable and it seems to have significantly less memory usage than any other ROM.
Any chance of getting the October security update in the next release? (If there is going to be another release that is)

CarbonROM is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look, build, and use our code at CarbonROM's GitHub... and at CarbonROM Gerrit.
Pre-Disclaimer:
THIS IS AN UNOFFICIAL BUILD. The intent is to showcase what is coming up soon. @frap129 and I have been working hard on getting taimen on a level we consider DD ready, especially from a security side of things.
Please keep any problems with those builds in this thread, we don't accept any bugreports for unofficial builds anywhere else.
Disclaimer:
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash!
Support:
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
Notice:
This build includes GApps for now. We're still working on ways to not prebundle it.
Before you flash, make sure you're on the latest 8.1 stock builds (and bootloader), then flash the ROM in TWRP.
MORE IMPORTANT NOTICE: We are very proud to announce that we are the first and only custom ROM to actually get the Now Listening Feature working on AOSP.

Is this ROM still in testing? And I tread that were supposed to have latest stock 8.1 build.. what's that supposed to mean?? I'm running RR Mod rn.. and I really wanna try carbon.. any help??
ROM is running very smooth! And it seems like it's the first one which doesn't push the cores of the G5 to 2GHz all the time so battery consumption is pretty low.
I had some crashes in the beginning after restoring APPs from Titanium Backup but by now no further issues. Camera is okay but could be better (crashes from time to time, 'Open Camera' is doing quite well!). But I guess this is due to the fact that Motorola hasn't released Oreo yet and some parts for building the camera parts properly.
- Magisk v16 works fine (had to install it twice but then worked)
- BT working
- ext. LTE support (can't test VolTE cause I don't have it)
- Safetynet passes
- SD Card access working
@rrajesh011, @vache - you did a very descent job! By now it's the best Oreo ROM I've tested.

Does this ROM support substratum theme engine? @rrajesh011
That would be awesome because I don't like the white menus from the interface.

Sorry to be doubtful, but are you certain? On all Q roms I've tried so far this seems to be an issue. I mean when you plug in the phone through USB and use AA with the cars built-in display...
Thanks so much
Does it have widevine L1 ?
If someone will be instal rom please write about encryption (working or not).
Sorry my bad english.

Widevine is a part of Firmware, not Rom. So with Firmware 11.0.4 you are on the save side
Another ROM that too with NGK. Thank You. Gonna try it soon.
