What music player are you using? There are plenty, well designed, music players that allows you to browse for files and add new music folder to your library. There are 2 options, 1 the MP3 file is corrupted and the music player doesn't detect it (try to play it by clicking it, if it plays then it's fine) and 2 (most likely) the download folder isn't a folder recognized by your music player, you have two choices: either you install a new music player (like retro music play for example) and you add the download folder to the folder list (and most of the time, third party music players scan this folder automatically) or you move the MP3 file from the download folder to the folder you store the rest of your music in (for example the Music folder).

[Q] Transfering MP3 Problems

Hi,
I find this unusual problem when transferring mp3 files to my phone. I use the Kies software on my PC to sync with my music folder. When it finish sync with the phone, it shows a complete transfer without problems, but when I open the music player my mp3s don't show up. After playing with the phone for a while, I found the mp3s to be in a folder called media. I have to transfer those mp3s to the music folder under Samsung in order for the mp3 to show up in the music player.
Why doesn't the transferred mp3 files go straight to that music folder under Samsung and instead I have to manually transfer it from the media folder on the phone? Am I doing something wrong?
Thank you
Bump to the top!

Well my suggestion is use Mediamonkey for transferring or managing music. In Mediamonkey you can configure the path where the files have to be uploaded, the order of uploading (artist>album>title) , file formats supported by the device and much more ! I have uploaded my music(FLACs) with Mediamonkey on SGS2 and all the music shows up correctly(along with track order) in the stock music player. Try it

SamSung Galaxy Player 4.2 playlist - observations and question

On my SGP 4.2 I noticed that both the stock Samsung music player and Poweramp seem to "eat" m3u playlist.
This is what has been happening. I would put together a playlist (m3u) file then put that file into a folder called playlist at the root of the ext.SD and as soon as I disconnect from the PC and launch either players the playlist (the physical m3u file) will disappear.
In the case of the SamSung player the playlist will show up under playlist even though the m3u file is no longer there. In the case of Poweramp the playlist will show up briefly and then it playlist will show that it is empty and vanish alltogether.
The work-around I found was to use pls files instead of m3u files and the stock Samsung music player sees and works with the pls file without making it vanish. I stopped using Poweramp due to other bugs so I have no idea if Poweramp behaves the same way around pls files.
Question: does anyone one know where and how the stock Samsung music player store it's playlist (one that was created within the program) ?
Knowing that will give me more options when manipulating playlists.
Thanks!

FLAC support default music player

Hi!
I can play FLAC files from within a file manager (EZ File Manager and Root Explorer). I get asked to use "Music" or "Google Play Music". Both work, but only a small music player opens!
But I can't get the FLAC files in the stock music player (in the list of music). Any ideas?
The FLAC songs are on external SD, but so are a lot of other songs.

Playlist question using system installed Music player.

Hi.
Have a XiaomI Poco F1 Android V9.
I have over 1000 MP3 songs.
Would like to create multiple Playlists using the System Installed “Music player App”.
Can create multiple playlists on Google Play Music(using a 3rd party app), Prefer to use Music player app (better sound quality).
Steps I perform:
- Connect phone via USB File Transfer with PC.
- Drag/Drop PC folder having 30 MP3 tracks onto internal Storage/Music folder.
- Open Music player app. Create first Playlist for 30 MP3.
To create a 2nd Playlist, (Drag/Drop), appends new MP3's to the original 30 MP3 tracks.
I have to individually Tick MP3 tracks to create a 2nd Playlist.
Tried:
After Drag/Drop MP3 folder to internal storage/music folder, right click folder to “create new playlist” Don't see Playlist in music player app.
Tried creating “.M3U” and .PLA” extension from MP3 folder. Sill no Playlist in music app player.
Tried 3rd party app “Playlist Creator 2”. Does create playlist on Google Play Music app but not on “Music player App”.
Using my One+One phone, when creating a Playlist in Google Play music, it Auto created a Playlist in its Music App. PocoPhone does not appear to do this feature.
Is there a way to create multiple playlists with “Music player app” w/o ticking them one-by-one?
TC.
Problem resolved! Found a workaround.

Extracting music files from Wynk Music

I use Wynk music app frequently but the app is very power hungry and lags a lot.
Is there ANYWAY at all to get the mp3 files from wynk so I can play them in another player?
I checked other sources and threads but they all seem either abandoned or not working.
I checked the app files and found what I think are the music folders ( each folder about 3-4 mb and the folder has the same no of items as all my downloaded songs ) but the folders have so many files named like (segment1... ) which don't have an extension (like .mp3) they just end like that and the system shows file type as "file". The files located in Android>data>com.bsbportal.music>cache>audio_cache
I'm thinking some app might be able to grab the Audio file as it is being played, assuming the audio has to be in an mp3 format while being played.
Or even some app that records the songs as they play and save them automatically with their name somewhere.
I have Android 5.1 rooted with magisk.
