Don't waste time on this device. It can't be rooted. I have tried using all methods on internet, used some exploits but nothing!!
I think this is the worst device I ever bought.
But keep trying guys, and if you get any solution do share that here.
Thanks.
Tip: others who don't know anything about rooting don' t try the methods you can't understand from the web.

Anyone ever wondered if you can flash the oppo a12 firmware on oppo a5s? Their hardware specs are the same.
@abia @Thago You can unlock bootloader
1) downgrade the rom to version 17
2) use mtk easy su
3) in magisk install adbandfastboot ndk (because this oppo phone doesn't have fastboot)
run these commands
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flashing unlock
fastboot reboot
I have successfully unlocked my bootloader

Yes it works
1) you have to unlock the bootloader first by my above method
2) patch the boot image manually with magisk ( auto patching doesn't work) or I will link one afterwards if you can't do it
the root is persistant after this, the only downside is the taskbar constanty displays "your device is rooted message" but it can also be fixed with a xposed module

Hey,
so does anyone know how to root this device? Received it yesterday and am waiting for root since most of the Apps I am using require it.
Help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,

Well it didn't work for me. Tried both the APK and Windows version. Meh.
Ok, then I suggest you try Megthebest's TWRP method from here:

Ah, I'd have to reset my whole settings, widgets, etc., then. Don't feel like it. I think I'll wait for Kingroot to update. Thanks anyways!

I don't think so... (Or am I missing something???)
All you need to do is install PC drivers, flash TWRP as your recovery.img (=system, data and other user images are unaffected) and then just flash root using SuperSU .zip.
Can't see that there is a need to do any resets or wipes to get it working, nor should you flash over any of your personal settings.
Recommend you check with Megthebest, he's a user and has another thread on the Ulefone Power here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/ulefone-power-real-reviews-discussion-t3300315
There might be other rooting tips there too.

Has anyone tried using fastboot on this device?
You can boot into fastboot by holding volume up and power. Then volume up to select fastboot and volume down to select the option (weir but it works).
I was able to use "fastboot flashing unlock" to successfully unlock the device. You can also see what is available by using "fastboot OEM?" command.
I did not want to flash anything on the phone and wanted to just boot TWRP for the device using "fastboot boot <image file name>" but it failed to boot. I think the boot command has been changed since and now needs memory locations.
I have tried "fastboot flash recovery <file name>" and it flashed successfully but trying to go into recovery still gives the stock recovery. I'm not sure what really flashed and where.
This is a great phone ! Just hope to find root !

Multiple Tool Flash Recovery Check and unlock Bootloader
Download unzip somewhere inside PC and run with double click the Recovery-Tool.bat .
Follow instructions and check Bootloader Unlock *flash TWRP or Stock Recovery etc. Try it with your own responsibility.
Alternative you can put new TWRPS inside phone and Flash them through there as image files.

Because I realized that you don't know.. so...with check bootloader tool you find out if your bootloader is locked or unlocked and you could proceed with safety to flash custom recovery to have the full abilities of this phone at your hands. Because if you try to flash any other Rom with locked bootloader you can have a full brick. And the second is that you have the power to choose between 2 recovery's or to flash back with 2 click's the official Stock recovery to have it if and when some Nougat or else Rom came out.

Nothing is wrong. You just have locked your bootloader without permission to unlock. Did you put 26s with TWRP? THAT'S WHY. You must have stock locked allowed bootloader for unlock.

Hello,
I am for the last days trying to root the Neffos X1 Lite no success. None of the main rooting tools worked, such Kingroot, Kingoroot, Root Genius, etc.
The rooted boot image that I've downloaded from the web left the device in a bootloop with glitchs on the screen, then I've restored the stock boot imagem.
Also no CF-Autoroot zip yet.
Any ideas?

Use fastboot to check status of your bootloader.

Did you ever figure this out? I'm having the same issue with pretty much the same scenario. I can boot to the bootloader/fastboot mode but recovery is not working.
I've tried some of the bootloder unlock methods to try to flash recovery but to no success. Other than that, the table boots to the stock ROM ok, but that's really no fun. I can't even factory reset because that needs recovery, lol.

Unfortunately, the aftv-tools were patched a while ago, sneaky Amazon updated boot0 on firehd 2014 via some hidden data in either LK or TEE1. So that method won't work.
So without a recovery or root there are really no options.
Now, there is always the path to trigger the BootRom mode via some contacts (as on other models), but nobody spent the time yet to figure that out:
