Hello, my V30 does not wake up frequently, which means that the fingerprint sensor has no function, knock on does not work until I have pressed the power button twice. I suspect that the problem only occurs in the dark.
With the older G models from LG, you could set somewhere that switching on should be deactivated in the dark (in your pocket, for example). However, I cannot use mine in dark rooms as desired.
Or was that only possible with LineageOS?
My V30 is a Korean 300K and is in a clean state, rooted with the latest V31 Android9 from day one. I've only had it for 4 weeks and the problem has existed from the start. Stock launcher, Stock Rom.
Anyone a tip, instead of cleaning the fingerprint sensor again?

Hello, i bought this device yesterday, and i found a bug with auto-rotating
for example camera, if i hold it normally all the buttons are rotated to side (like i would shoot horizontally), if i hold the phone horizontally then the buttons are rotated to above my screen.
And it is making me crazy, also i'm on 4.1.2 so there's no accelerometer/horizontal calibration. Any help is needed, how can i fix my phone to work good without taking it to services?
I also looked google for like 1-2 hours, but no hope.. I just got this phone and i don't want to throw it.
SOLVED!!
I downloaded 2 firmwares. 4.0 and 4.1 official ones, I flashed the 4.0, Calibrated the screen with it (the feature was removed from 4.1). After i tried it in 4.0 to see if it works, i flashed back to 4.1. This made my phone stop bugging with auto-rotate and now i have a bug-free mobile! :victory:
I have the following problem with my LG G5 (official latest EU ROM).
When I touch and swipe to scroll or move the screen, the scroll will just start after I have moved the finger about 0.5-1cm (when moved normal or slowly).
After this trigger point, holding the finger and move up/down, the scroll is instantly and works normal.
Lifting the finger and do a new touch swipe results in the problem again.
This actually happens in mostly all apps and on the home screen (Nova launcher), and I have the feeling it is even worse in the Google Play store.
The weird thing is, it does not happen in the android settings menu / list.
Can someone please tell if it happens on their phone too. Is there maybe a way to fix it?
I have tested it on an Android 4 and Android 5 tablet too, and there it is the same, so it seems to be a global Android problem.
bump
I don't have that problem on my G5 or on my tablet that still runs on Jellybean, and the S4 I had until last year didn't have it either.
So no, I wouldn't say it's a global Android problem
Sounds to me like your problem has to do with using Nova Launcher.
Have you tried uninstalling it and seeing if the issue persists?
I have two G5s (one mine, one wife), both stock and no added bells and whistles. Pretty different profiles, very different users. Neither phone lags at all.
You may have an accessibility option turned on?
The stock ROM of my Moto G6 Play had a feature where if you'd pick it up it'd wake up automatically. I think it worked with the accelerometer.
On the Blackberry Leap I had before that you could just swipe up on the screen when it's off and it'd unlock.
For the past years I've been running GSI ROMs on it, where it seems you have to press the physical power button or use the fingerprint sensor to wake the phone up.
However, both the power button and fingerprint sensor are getting more and more broken over time.
So it would be... very convenient to have a more convenient method to wake the phone.
Is there anything that works on a GSI ROM without Google services?
I found WaveUp on F-Droid, but it works very poorly on my device, unlocking only after excessive waving for a good while.
I purchased my S21 about 5 weeks ago and I am not sure if I have been experiencing this issue since I bought it but in the last week, I have noticed this issue. When my phone is locked, the AOD will either show for a few seconds to a minute or just won't show. I've ensured it is set to always show, power-saving not set to turn it off, no Bixby routines and any updates are installed for phone/AOD. I've even factory reset my phone and removed the case and screen protector and the issues are still persisting. Does anyone else experience this issue?
Disable all power management... it screws up all kinds of things.
Does AOD show if you tap the screen?
I have disabled all power management that I am aware of and still experiencing issues. I've set it to show on tap and while it worked the first time, subsequent taps do not show the AOD
Video demonstrating AOD tap to show issue
Sounds like a firmware glitch or the flash was corrupted.
Double check all AOD and screen lock settings.
Try turning AOD always on.
Try disabling screen lock... a lock out is the last thing you want anyway.
Play with it... Android's wuv attention.
The case or screen protector won't do this more than likely.

I normally use AOD always on, I'd tried the tap on the option to test. Going to try flashing it today to see if that helps despite the factory reset not helping.
So I've flashed the stock firmware back onto my device and the issues are still persisting. I've contacted support through the Samsung Members app and it's been escalated to the Research and Development team and am just waiting to hear back.
Did you update any Samsung apps after the reload before testing it? Go with the factory app loads.
Try disabling the lock screen... they tend to end up locking out the intended user anyway, sooner or latter.
If no one else is having this issue it very well maybe a hardware issue.
Did you ever wonder what happens when one or two micro transistor junctions out of the millions in a phone fail? Yes, well...
Unfortunately I can't recall if Samsung apps updated before I tested. I've already factory reset a few times so I'd rather avoid that for now. I've noticed the issues occur when using auto-brightness on AOD in lower light settings. When I say lower light, I mean in my study during the day which I never experienced issues with on my S20 FE. I've sent a report to Samsung Members and am waiting on them to come back to me.

Did you ever get this fixed. I have the exact same issue on my s20 ultra
Edit: Nevermind just fixed it after 3 days troubleshooting. Oddly it was the the disable AOD while in power saving mode that needed to be disabled even though I don't use power saving mode. Samsung never seem to amaze me with these dumb persistent bugs.
Glad to see you solved the issue. I'd already confirmed this setting was off for me. It's still happening. Looks like it's something to do with the level of light detection as the issue only happens when I have auto brightness set for the AOD. The problem is it's not even that dark when it's happening and never occurred with my S20 FE.
Hey guys i bought this phone few days ago i am facing proximity sensor issues right now
when i try to call someone it will randomly go to dark screen
proximity sensor in testing apps does not work correctly
i tried removing the screen protecting glass and case it still persist
i thought this issues might have been fixed with the new update it doesn't guys should i return this device and get new one
Mi 11x pro uses a ultrasound chip for the proximity sensor and this works combined with other sensors like the gyro. So when you put the earpiece to your ear it detects an orientation change and switches the display off. I'm currently on indian miui v12.5.2 and don't face the issue you mention. Slow movements are known to confuse the phone. Other than that the screen shouldn't switch off after initiating the call unless you change its orientation. Testing apps work with orientation change.

Almost all of the sensor apps fail this, but in call I have no problem whatsoever.
Are you having trouble during calls?

Annoying as hell... You call someone, he doesent answer, and you cannot cancel the call because the screen is black and no way to turn it on! Or to check a phone number or email.... I will send it back as a warranty isue....
The problem is with MIUI 12.5.4.0, we need to wait for the fix with newer version of MIUI or try to install xiaomi.eu ROM
