Is CyanogenMod the only ROM for Touchpad that has bluetooth enabled? I've been using Evervolv but it seems that bluetooth still is not functioning there.

From all the available Android ROM from this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/hp-touchpad/general/hp-touchpad-optimize-android-swap-t3901773
WiFi works on all ROMs:
Bluetooth works on:
Kitkat , Lollipop and Nougat.
It all depends what features of Bluetooth is been use. Is an old hardware it has it limitations.
For File transfer it is best to use WiFi, take a look here:

I'm wanting to use it for music streaming and bluetooth connect a speaker to stream from pandora/YouTube music.
Do you have a recommend?
Interesting enough, I'm currently on Evervolv which runs Nougat but bluetooth does not work for me.

What version of Evervolv Nougat?
I am referring to 7.1.2 from this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/hp-touchpad/general/hp-touchpad-optimize-android-swap-t3901773
The Tablet does a very good job at streaming and also playing with the loud speakers it has.
I know the Bluetooth works as I use it for the OBDII on the car.
When it comes to music and do not like Bluetooth for its low quality, I use wire AUX connection.

Looking at my settings it shows:
Android Version -> 5.0.2
Kernel version -> [email protected] #1
Thu Mar 19 05:47:08 PDT 2015
okay super old version
Interesting enough - the bluetooth option now seems to be working, but the wifi shows an exclamation point beside it and is not working atm. It was working a few days ago when I was trying to get bluetooth to work.
I'm going to do some googling but I think there was a way I could update directly from the touchpad.
Here I am almost 24 hours later and still unable to get the wifi to connect. Since I am already on evervolv - what steps would I need to take to update to the most recent version sans wifi?

WiFi works with all ROMs and Bluetooth up to Evervolv 7.1.2
For WiFi to work the router needs to be properly configure and the user must know how to connect to the WiFi network.
By the way, I did try Bluetooth for playing music on a car stereo and works perfectly, hours of playing with no issues. I was very impress!
For the second time, here is a link to all Android ROMs and to flash it to get the most out of it.

Hi All,
I am purchasing a Lexus IS250 shortly and I have been using a demonstrator version. I have a Galaxy S2 and can link the bluetooth ok for voice calls, etc. However I cant seem to link it for bluetooth music streaming. Does the S2 not have this capability?
I have tried using Checkrom (GB), Cyanogenmod (ICS) and MIUI V4 (ICS) and none seem to have that ability.
Thanks guys for any help!
Well, I am in India and the bluetooth streaming works great in my car.
After I connect my phone to the car, I get an option of "Streaming" in the various sources that I can select from viz., CD, Aux, Tuner, etc..
So, the answer to the question is, it does support streaming. You may want to fiddle a bit with the system on your car to see which option actually detects music streaming.
Check the bluetooth pairing in the phone settings. If you go advanced options (or whatever the menu is) you should see an option for connect to phone and connect to media. My guess is media is unticked.
I've been using ICS MIUI roms .. (used a few now)
Bluetooth works fine with them.
Even check ROM works.
What does'nt work and works only with MIUI roms is AVRCP !!!
I have my HOX+ connected to the car via bluetooth. The music streams brilliantly. No issues there at all.
What I do have major issues is with Phone calls. Making outgoing calls is impossible it refuses to conenct to the bluetooth speaker even if you manually select the option, it just goes to internal speaker. If you select external speaker it goes ok but just wont connect to the car sound system at all.
In comming calls are iffy. Some times they pipe through the speaker but not all the time.
I know there are issues with HTC and bluetooth in general just looking for some ideas on how to try and fix the issue.
I have viper rom and elite kernel.
I was even thinking about buying this to see if it would help!
HTCs bluetooth stack has known issues with certain kinds of HSP devices.
The problem is that since the BT stack is propertary and closed source
it is hardly possible to change anything there compared to AOSP roms
where this is open source
So even if I guess you wont like the idea I can only suggest that
you try an AOSP rom if this is really important for you.
There is still not a 100% guarantee but chances are better that it works
About which kind of car BT device are we actually talking?
Even with the AOSP BT stack there are certain devices that have problems
espcially some kind of car manufature propertary solutions.
I use a Kenwood BT capable receiver and it works without problems
The device you linked may not help you because from the description
this is only for A2DP which doesnt include BT phone audio (HSP profile)
...
- this dongle is compatible with all devices with BT A2DP profile
...
Hmm ok so it sounds like the dongle shouldn't work as expected then ok! Just dont want to spend nearly £50 and find it doesn't work any better.
I have a Kia Pro Cee'd 2 with standard inbuilt car stero / bluetooth. I think it is the fact that it works sometimes bothers me more than if it didnt work at all!
I did try osap for a bit and had similar problems but will try again and see if I can get a good connection!
In the car I have buetooth connection, usb charging port and aux connection that is compatable with iphones. I actually get an iphone connection cable with the car!
Most of the bluetooth boxes I have seen only seem to have A2DP and AVRCP
connection profiles so I dont think these would work either.

well then this seems one of those sh.. devices
if you already have tried a recent 4.2.2 AOSP rom and it failed
then it prolly will still not work
Allthough there has been a patch in bluedroid lately regarding connection issues
https://github.com/maxwen/bluedroid/commit/e6eaba415b3d9cb0043a590cc01a1e7d79fed5ca
I have no idea if this may help but you can try
Hey,
Anyone else having issues with their car Bluetooth after installing the new 5.1.1 update? Worked fine on 5.0 stock ROM also worked fine with cm 12.1 now after I updated to stock 5.1.1 ROM doesn't seem to connect anymore. Checked Google and the guys with the S6 also seem to have this issue. Anyone know of a quick fix?
Thanks.
I've had no problems with 5.1.1 and Bluetooth headsets or connecting to uconnect
i dont have issues connecting with the car bluetooth.. but if I use vonage to dial the audio is really low..
So ever since my pixel XL updated to 7.1.2 I have been having nothing but problems keeping Bluetooth tethering active. I can't say that tethering via BT ever worked well on my pixel out of the box, but there were a variety of apps like BTAutoTethering did a good job of ensuring BT tethering was switched on whenever a specific device was connected. However, all these apps seem to be broken in 7.1.2.
This is really causing an issue for me because the device I need to tether is a medical device. Without these apps to help me using just stock android Bluetooth tethering just turns off after 10 to 60 minutes.
Hopefully this is a simple yes it will or no it won't do it type of question
I want to make use of my Touchpad in my Camper Van specifically to connect it to a couple of battery monitors via Bluetooth e.g. to a Ctek 'battery sense' monitor
I think the monitors use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
To date I have not had any success I have tried Nougat and Oreo they connect fine via Bluetooth to my phone so I know 'proper' bluetooth works' but not to these two BLE devices
I have not tried KitKat yet
Should it work if so which rom should I try?
Thanks

In my opinion this is not a question of the ROMs available for the HP Touchpad (at least not only). The main thing is, that the HP Touchpad is from 2011 and it's bluetooth specification is BT 2.1. That means, it supports bluetooth EDR in the best case, but no BLE because for bluetooth BLE you need newer chipsets. Bluetooth BLE have versions of 4.x, not 2.x.
