LastPass - Whale for LG - LG V60 ThinQ Questions & Answers

Hello!
Has anyone tried to use LastPass in Whale browser?
I'm striking out. No matter what sign in page I go to, no results are found in LastPass.
LastPass works perfectly for Chrome, Edge, and all other apps.
Thanks!

I haven't used Whale before, but have had a similar issue. When it says no results found, try to add the site. Does it pull up a result like in this screenshot, with the Android System as the entry name?

Sort of.
It comes up and says "No Matches". Then I get the option to press the +. It brings up a screen like yours, however, it doesn't say Android System, it says Whale for LG Dual Screen.
Thanks!

In my case, the Android System entry addition can be caused if there's a pop-up notification on the browser screen when I try to use the LastPass auto-fill. Is there anything like that, especially as part of the Whale browser itself, when you try to auto-fill?

Yeah, I get the auto-fill popup, but no matter what login screen I'm at, the auto-fill is empty.

I installed Whale on my V60 and getting the same thing as you, and didn't see anything in settings that looked to affect it either. I guess I would suggest contacting Whale about it. If you have a paid LastPass account, you could try filing a bug report, and free users could try asking on their forums (paid about get priority tech support).

Weird. I installed BitWarden and setup an account. Threw my FB credentials in there. Opened Whale and went to FB.com and it prompted with no results. Same thing as last pass for me. I just don't get it. Works EVERYWHERE else.

Bitwarden will work for Whale iff the address bar is in classic mode. Won't work in its default setting.

Evo3d Default desktop browser tip.

Don't know if this has been covered or not here but I figured I'd post if it hasn't and for users who are not aware of this. If it has then someone let me know and I'll ask for the thread to be removed.
Now I use the default browser alot because "Imo" its a nice and fast browser and suits my needs. But I was frustrated when I went into settings and unchecked mobile view in the default web browsers settings and yet some web pages still came up as the mobile version. So after some google searching I stumble upon a nice little tip. I'm sure more advanced users/members might already know this but it was new to me. Henceforth.
To make the default web browser show desktop mode for all websites try this.
Open up the web browser. Then in the address bar type
about:debug and press the "go" key on your keyboard.
Then hit menu and choose the setting option for the browser.
Then scroll down and you wil see a new list of settings. Then choose the one that says "UA String" tap on that and choose desktop. Then back out of your settings menu and go back to the address bar and type
about:debug
Then hit the search key/arrow next to the address bar and it will return the browser back to its normal state.
However the setting will not stick if you reboot or close the browser via app manger. ""I think as long as you keep the browser running it should stick"" However the settings do remain they just have to be activated again. So say you reboot or close the web browser. When reopen it just type
about:debug and hit the go key.
Then immediately after that just type
about:debug and hit the search key/arrow
to reactivate them again.
It might seem like alot but it actually can be done in just a few seconds and its worth it to me. And I'm sure there are alot of browsers on the android market that can make it alot easier but I perfer the stock browser. And it very well could be different methods of achieving this but this but, I don't have the knowledge and this way seems to work. Also if you check the "smooth rotate" option it give the browser a nice little animation when going from landscape to portrait or vice versa. Also it makes switching views a bit faster. I'm still searching google for what the rest of the options are for and what's the risks and benefits of them because I don't know. So I advise not to altar anything your not familiar with. But if you do happen to know what the other options are for and if they could speed up the browser please post the info. As I wrote above this if this has been covered elsewhere post it and I will ask a mod to remove this thread asap. Well hope some members with the evo3d will find this helpful or fun.

I've also noticed this.
When I enable WiFi power lock it give you better download speeds.
Also if your like me and download a lot of files via stock browser after a while I noticed that my downloads will be a tad slower than say three weeks ago even after I cleaned cache via app and via recovery. What I've noticed is that the stock browser keeps a record of all your downloads. If you tap menu then select
downloads you will see what I mean. Now these are linked to your sd card's download folder. So what I did was create a download2 folder on my sd used root explorer to move all of my files from my download folder to my download2 folder. Then I reopened the stock browse and went to downloads and checked all of my downloads
"It was quite a few" and deleted them. After that I rebooted and the stock browser was back to downloading at the usual speeds. Not saying that this effected the download speeds to much but I want every bit of performance out of my phone Lol. If you try this don't forget to move what ever files you have in your download folder on your sd to a seperate folder because if you don't and you delete them from the browser you will erase them from your sd as well. Hope members can find this useful.
just tried it...didnt work for me. once i input about:debug, I got "about:%debug". what am i missing?
Interesting. I couldn't get any advanced settings. In fact, couldn't get stock browser into the debug mode. Went into settings to clear cookie data, cache, history and form data to get into debug mode. It still won't go into debug. But now I get all websites in desktop mode!
That's my story and I am sticking to it. Leaving it alone.

When you first type about:debug hit the go key/enter key on your keyboard. Then hit the menu button and open up the browsers settings. Then scroll all the way down. You should see extra options.

Yes, I see that now. But, I was able to enable always desktop by just clearing cookie data, cache, history and form data. And of course deselecting enable mobile view. I suspect the form data may be the key.
Now espn, profootballtalk, engadget, gizmodo all show in desktop mode on my phone. YMMV.

Oh ok cool. A did you check out the smooth rotation option?? Also single column view screws up how the website looks so I left that one unchecked. Also to the way you mentioned in your earlier post that way worked for me as well. But an example of how only some websites still appear mobile was when I was using the mobile app engadget and one of the articles had a link and when I clicked on that link the site appeared as mibile. When I checked my settings they were all the same as you mentioned above. That's why I started my srarch. Also it happened with the news app I use wtmj4.

Thanks but its not my method. Just info I found searching. And yea I'm really liking the rotate effect lol. Also I checked wifi power lock and it seems to hold my wifi signal a little better. When I to the basement of my home wifi usually drops to 2 or 3 bars being the router is on the 3rd floor. With that checked I have 3 bars solid. Still testing the other settings.

I also set my "Set connection count" to 20 and noticed a speed improvement on how sites load.
Other settings I changed:
Flash version - changed this to Flash 10 from Mixed
Enabled save Picture - turned this on
Enable GEP zoom - turned this on
UAString - set to Desktop
Thanks for the tip!
OP, what sites show up mobile? Engadget, Gizmodo, Espn already display in desktop mode..

I notice zoom feels a bit smoother, but nothing to great. pages with embedded flash feel a bit more responsive while zoned in but the phone is so fast I don't know if it truly made a difference.

[Q] CM7 ICS prefinal

Hi,
I cannot see an option to setup an email account outside of corporate or Gmail. I did do a search through the forums but came up empty.
Have I missed something fundamental.
Tried setting up the POP account through the corporate icon but of course it could not communicate with the server.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Sydpark

Can't you just select "email" from the application list and go from there? Once you type in the email address and password select "manual setup" and configure it accordingly. You will need your outgoing and incoming mail server etc etc.
If that doesn't work for you for some reason you can always download K-9 mail from the market. Its free and has a ton of features.
Good luck! Let me know if you still need any further assistance
I think I'm going to give this rom one more shot today. I like it, but I'm not so crazy about the on screen buttons at the bottom. They seem redundant to the ones already on the atrix.

Yes, they are launcher based, not Android based.
I really don't know how the real ICS would work on smartphones with harware keys. Redundant and i hated the ICS Launcher on this ROM just for that reason.

Can anyone help speeding things up a bit?

Hi there! I'm having some doubts about the phone, switching between apps forces app refresh, even if I switch only for a couple of seconds. If I was filling up a form and had to check something in another app (let's say a bank app), everything I completed resets itself. If I was using a browser, leave it for a couple of seconds, come back, it refreshes the website (spending data and time). Any way to make it better? A really fast phone but this is bothering me.
Here is a video I recorded to show what I mean.
https://youtu.be/b_wrBgJrS4M
Tried limiting 4 background process as someone suggested me but it didn't change behavior.
Thanks!

I think you should add wanted application to App protection (actually you have to remove them from the list of "killable" applications, they will appear in Disabled auto cleaning part).
You will find those settings in Phone Manager > Power saving management > App protection.
If you want all applications to be kept you should disable Ultra-long standby during sleep.
Let me know if it has worked.

Nothing more sorry, thought that adding borwsers to "don't kill" list would stop theses refresh. Maybe it's the way your browsers are designed. Try others to compare.
I tried a couple of browsers, opera, chrome, dolphin, they all do the same, the only that kind of works are the bubble type browsers but I don't find them stable enough. Oh well, if you think of something let me know, for now I'm grateful you could help me the way you did.

Well really weird
Btw just an update, I installed the USA .16s version and its a really nice improvement over the Chinese .14 that I had, now I can see my phone using the ram as intended, the old rom always had 1 - 1.6gb free and cleaning the memory all the time.

Off Topic question about this forum.

When I come to this forum, I sometimes need to go back to a topic/thread that I started to reference information but I cannot find a way to do this. If I click on the member icon in the upper right hand corner of the page, all I get is a login popup and no access to my account. What am I missing here? Thanks.

My best guess is something privacy related -- VPN, browser setting -- is blocking this. One browser I use (Brave) won't let me search in XDA threads, while another (Chrome) does.
Just try another browser (like Chrome) temporarily as an experiment. If it works then check your Opera settings.

Thanks for the suggestion to try another browser. Chrome worked just fine so I looked at the settings in my Opera browser and for some reason, this forum was not on the exceptions list any longer. So I added this URL and all is back as it should be again. Thanks for your help. Now if I could get an answer to my problem with making slo-mo videos.

Thanks for the suggestion but it was a problem with my Opera browser that I now have fixed. The browser had somehow deleted this forum URL from it's safe list. Once I added the URL back into the list, all is fine. I don't usually use my phone for web related things unless I have to. I don't even check my email on my phone unless I am away from home for a long while.

Default browser

Hi.
I first time use an s9+, and have some small, but annoying issue. I have kiwi browser installed, and I can't set it as a default browser. Or to be exact I can, and I did, but yet if I click on any link from social media, it still opens them with samsung browser. I never used a samsung before, so I would like to ask, what's the trick to fix this? And at this piont, looks like I'm also not able to disable samsung browser, and chrome as well. Is there any way to block those?

Hi, thanks, but it is set to kiwi, and looks like it ignores it. Also the section above lets me delete the defaults, and after I set kiwi again, but no changes with the behaviour, still opens in samsung browser. Also in that section where I should set links, it's inactive.
I just recently posted this answer in another post, worked for me on the latest Android 11 hope it helps you too
post:
Google is being so annoying lately... I had this same problem and found a solution:
just install a browser that you aren't going to use (or one already on your device) and then set it as the default browser. Then delete that app (uninstall it) and the default browser will be back set to none.
Just super annoying because if you hit the button again later to set a default browser you'll have to do this all over again
