Recently, received my Elephone S8. Feels great and seems super fast. I put my old SIM card from my old galaxy phone into the Elephone and then contacted Verizon to restore my SIM card, which was retired, but they re-flashed it. Now when I open my Elephone I have the message "com.mediatek.ims.lmsApp has stopped" I have the option to close the app but the message just reappears. Verizon had told me I may have to turn my phone off and on several times and that I may not be able to make or receive phone calls for up to 24 hours. Now I'm no techno genius but from my research it looks like I need to do something to the phone to receive 4G. So any help I an get would be greatly appreciated.
Ok, an update to my above problem. I no longer have the issue of my the com.mediatek.ims.lmsApp has stopped. Last night I had put the sim card into the number 2 slot. So I notice I have a voice message, I click on the message and I can hear the phone dialing the number and then its just dead air. Tried calling my wife same thing. I also notice the icons at the top of the screen don't say anything about 4G or even 3G. I'm able to get on Instagram, Facebook, and my emails, but no phone calling.
Try replacing the default dialer app.
I haven been noticing that I been missing a lot of calls and getting delayed text messages once in a while I am currently running on the t-mobile network here in the US. I have a one plus 6t as well and I tested it and I receive my calls with no one mention that my phone has went to voicemail. I have even performed a hard rest to see if maybe it was an app or a setting and still continues. Anyone else experiencing the same thing? Call log shows no missed calls and asked several people to text me with the time they sent out the text and it's delayed at times for over 30 minutes thanks in advance
I've had an issue similar, no one could call me until I call them first, Just went straight to voicemail everytime someone tried to call me.. I think it has something to do with the Wi-Fi switch because I turned off the Wi-Fi and turned it back on and it corrected itself. I could still receive msgs but where delayed until then.

Hi mate,
I had similar issues (at least with delayed text's) when locked. It was a battery saving issue, just make the Messages always run without power-saving option enabled.
Had issues with calls when Call over WiFi was enabled (enabled by default), disabled it and now works flawless (even with VoLTE).
Yea, been having this issue since I replaced my S9+ with the Mate 20 Pro.
My MintMobile SIM registers as T-mobile on the Mate 20 Pro. Most of the calls I don't receive and my wife says it goes to voice mail after first ring.
Where in the settings I can make adjustments to help eliminate this issue? Thanks!

I'm having the same issue on MintSim in the US. Messages seem fine but sometimes calls seem to go straight to voicemail. There is no calls over wifi setting on my phone as far as I can tell (and no volte) so I would be interested if there is a fix for this as well. I never had the issue with my P20 Pro but it's happened several times with the Mate 20 Pro.
I'm tempted to manually input the MintSim APN settings but since the signal is very strong with the default T-Mobile settings I'm not sure how that could help.
I'm using the MintMobile Ultra APN settings. If I default to the T mobile settings, mms don't work.

This only happens to T-Mobile and most likely related to WIFI calling, incoming calls goes to voicemail right away for me sometimes (both Note 8 and Mate 20 pro), but my wife on AT&T never had this issue

Strange. With the default T-Mobile settings mms works for me and my signal app shows a stronger signal than with the Ultra settings.
Which signal app are you referring to? For me, I usually have to turn wifi off for mms to come in or sent out. It doesn't work when the wifi is On, with either the T-mobile or Ultra APNs.

Hi everyone,
Did anyone find a solution to the problem? I still have an issue with text messages and calls. I'm wondering if I should get a new phone....
Actually I just found one. I believe it has to do with Wi-Fi calling being on. Normally this option is supposed to be usable under settings and mobile networks, but since I'm using T-mobile I find the option completely off the phone or so it seems. I downloaded quick shortcut maker from the Google play store. Once opened I just typed in the top search bar Wi-Fi. From there you'll see 3 icons, a phone, settings, and wifi. Select the settings icon, scroll all the way down. Now you should see 2 entries that read Wi-Fi Calling, select the first one, the click on the middle button that says try. Wifi calling should be enabled, just switch it off and that should be it. Attached some screen shots of the process so it shouldn't be difficult. I was going crazy when people said they tried calling so many times but not one I receive or messages that are delayed for up to 30 minutes. I hope this solution helps anyone in this situation
Wi-Fi calling on my Mate 20 Pro is grayed out. So that cannot be the case for me.
Yea, my wife gets very upset when she calls me. Out of 10 calls, just one will come through. She will leave a voice mail, and hours later I will get the notification.

You selected the first one? When trying the second wifi calling option in shortcut maker the wifi calling was greyed out and the slider didn't work at all
Same issue
I've been fighting with my Mate 20 Pro since the day I got it. I'm on T Mobile. Some calls go to voicemail, some calls make it through. It's hit and miss. I haven't been able to find a common denominator. There's also a cellular data issue with the phone. When streaming video, the connection will suddenly drop out. The phone shows good signal, but it loses data. Turning the cellular data off and back on again fixes this issue. I think the data issue may still be related to the Visual Voicemail issue that T Mobile has with these phones. I was able to get Visual Voicemail to work (mostly) but I think the data is still affected by the Visual Voicemail issue , albeit to a much lesser extent than then it was before. I've been in contact with T Mobile and they have no solution to this issue. They did a sim card swap for me, but the issue persists.
Same sort of problem here. I'm on a KPN business contract, have been for many years. Never a call problem with the mate 9 and 10 but if people call me on the m20pro they don't hear the dial tone so they usually hang up thinking my phone is switched off or something. This really sucks!
I loved the m10pro especially but the m20pro is not my friend due to the calling issue and the really crap LG screen.
I've posted this issue on T-Mobiles Forum in hopes of getting them to take notice. Here is the link.

Thanks! I will try that and see if it changes anything. I missed so many calls that don't even appear on my missing calls list. I hope it's gonna fix the phone because I really like it, other than you cannot receive phone call lol

So far this seems to be working but 1 day without any missed calls is still too early to celebrate.. Thanks for sharing what you found--the missed calls were driving me crazy.
There's another option that I disabled in Hope of fixing the call issue. I attached some images of what to look for. The option was enabled by default so just click on the slider to disable
I'm having an ongoing problem communicating via text with more than one recipient at one time. I am running Stock (rooted Oreo), have tried numerous texting apps (Message, Pulse, Signal, etc) If I copy two people, it sometimes takes forever to send out the text. And quite often when one of the recipients replies back, I do not see it or it arrives much much later, or they squirt onto my phone all at once. Am on T-Mo and use wifi calling. Any ideas? I use my phone for work, so solid communication is required with my tech out in the field.
I have used Messages (Google's replacement for the stock messaging app) and Hangouts for multiple-person texting for years with no issues. I didn't see you mentioned these, so I wanted to mention it. I'm on stock rooted VS996 on TotalWireless.
As mentioned, I have used Messages, Pulse, Signal , they all seem to suffer from this same issue. If I go in settings, and disable combine group texts, the individual ones get to recipients, but then that defeats the purpose of using multiple texts. The two people I most often text with use Apple phones, unsure if that is a factor. very frustrating when trying to work from home & run service department. I thought Google closed Hangouts?

Not yet. I use it every day, as does my wife.
Ahh, crapple... that's likely the problem. Crapple loves to do non-standard crap, and that may be issue you're facing. Their incompetence makes SMS group texting impossible (because they suck at using standards).
That said, apparently you may be able to force MMS on your Android, to work around their idiocy: https://joyofandroid.com/group-messaging-android/

Indeed Crapple. Checked out the link, but it seems that I already have these settings in place. (Messages and Pulse are the two I switch between) Trying Textra now. Thank you for posting this
Do your MMS work? I haven't had a video gif work in Messages in a year!
I can text gifs. I support our two service techs out in the field, and we text each other all day. So I text them both some info, or a question to answer or whatever. It may take up to a minute for the app to show my text has been sent. Then I don't hear anything back from either guy. So I retext hey did you see my earlier text? Then they will reply, yes, and I answered you. But I do not have any response. Then later on, suddenly it get several texts squirt thru all at once, minutes or hours later. They both have iPhones. Here at home, wifi calling is the only way for me to use my phone as we have horrible signal at the house.
Yes, MMS works for me in Messages just fine. I also get them on my work phone (Moto Z3) from iPhone users, too. No issues whatsoever...

I wonder what the heck is wrong with my service? Anyone on Verizon with the US99820h not getting MMS to animate? Mine literally just come in as blurry pictures and tapping it does nothing.
@christoophat: Do you have Battery Saver or Data Saver enabled? If so, turn them off.
But if you have poor cell signal at home (I am familiar with that predicament) then SMS (including MMS) will always be spotty.
You can get a Google Voice number and use that instead: It all goes through data (WiFi or Mobile data) for calls as well as messages. I'd do that in your case.
You'll have to give your coworkers the Google Voice number instead of your current mobile number. Behind the scenes you can (optionally) route incoming and/or outgoing calls through your mobile number instead of using data. But certainly at home just let it use data.
In the old days, you'd use the Hangouts app to do Google Voice messaging and calls. I still do. But today you're probably better off using the Google Voice app, which has everything built in.
Edit: I should have mentioned that you can also port your current number to Google Voice if you don't want to give your coworkers a different number. But that will terminate your current mobile carrier account. And it can sometimes take a day or two to go through.

Battery saver is always off. I set up a Google Voice number to try out with my techs to see if that does any better. Many thanks for your response. I am lucky to get one bar here at home (null zone)

A great benefit of Google Voice is that you can make/receive calls and send/receive messages on any number of devices, including right inside Gmail on your computer. I write most messages this way because I prefer a real keyboard and selecting/editing with a mouse. I also do a fair number of calls this way. My PC has a wired connection which means lower latency than WiFi.
We also have Ring Central phone app, but it's used mostly for client only communication, so I can keep personal phone number separate. But you can't do multiple texts to anyone outside Groups (people who also have RC on their phones), so that is limiting.
Hah, I didn't realize the Google Voice is a separate app now that I will use to text. Will try this out & see if it does a better job. Thanks again
Hi guys, I am using mate 10 lite.I am having the problem that the caller cannot be reached on the phone as follows; There is a network on the phone, I can access the internet, there is no problem communicating on WhatsApp. Everything looks normal on the phone. But those who called me say that the phone cannot be reached off the phone. I also tried it with my wife's phone. When I actually call I get an unavailable message. But at the same time I access the internet, whatsappa without any problem. Also, when I call someone, the call screen is waiting too long, the call ends before the other party rings. After trying a few times, the other party rings? I called Huawei support, they did a few procedures. they deleted the phone and call settings cache but the problem persists. What could be the problem?
my english is not good. sorry for this
Anyone else experiencing this?
Had the phone about 5 weeks. Reside in Canada, its a Version C unit.
Experiencing delayed receipt of texts in group chats and single texts. Using android messenger after a full reset w Textra as previous messaging app. Settings left stock, initially after reset worked fine and boom all of a sudden receiving mms and texts as old as 4 days ago in group chats. Getting to point that considering ditching device. Spoke w carrier they show no issue on their end. Issue seems to be xross plaatform w iphone users. I dont want an S22 and only option is a Pixel 7. I bought ZF9 for size, everything else i like but this is too much

NO as I far as I can tell I am not as I am outside US, being in Canada on Virgin/Bell network. Is there a way I can look or turn off this feature as I am using the default android messenging app
I'm in Toronto on bell and have the ZF9.
All text are working fine.
To check RCS, open the message app, go to settings, chat features. Should show connected or maybe trying to connect.
Try deleting data/cache for both the message app and carrier services. Then re enable RCS.

Thanks going to try this as I did find settings and turned of RCS features. I have RCS chat features turned off currently. I have deleted data/cache now for both messaging app and carrier services, will pull sim and turn off device , reinsert sim and restart. Wondering if I should re-enable RCS chat features or run without first to see if issue continues before re-enabling
Update: even following the above and having RCS disabled since restart, reinsert of sim and clearing of data/cache on carrier services and google messenging app w/o messenging app connected to my google account I am receiving delayed texts in a group chat from iphone sender. I am beginning to wonder if clearing cash on their end may resolve. My Virgin carrier says everything seems fine on their end even though they don't support this device. I guess I may have to wait a period of time to see if this resolves as I am unsure what I can do that is left. I have already factory reset the device as well. Any additional comments are welcomed
