Samsung Lock after Hard Reset - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
I think of rooting my phone, that's why I post here, I am not a developer at the moment but I have an issue I think you can help me with.
I hown a Samsung S6 Edge (I think G-925F). I did a hard reset from within a shut-off phone, Before I wiped the cache (in Recovery Mode), and both the Samsung account and the Google account have been active, as far as I know.
1) Getting into the Recovery Mode contained an error:
I press the buttons to get there, afterwards the Andoird Logo appears, Installing System Update message is shown, and a while later an error:
No Command
But after waiting for about 15 seconds the Recovery Mode is entered. Anything to think about here?
This issue still remains after the hard reset, but the Recovery Mode is entered always.
2) Main Problem:
I want to set my phone up again, but I am prompted to enter my Samsung credentials (Samsung Account, not Google).
I cannot skip. I entered the right (!) credentials. Just a message "in process" and "logging in", but after that nothing happens, idle.
I can log into my Samsung Account from my notebook, I have 2-Factor-Authentication(2FA) activated (cannot deactivate there).
At first my S6 edge was recognized there as logged in device, even though I could not move forward in the S6 setup with the credentials. I changed the password, just to be sure, now it is not even recognized as a logged in device, maybe because of the changed password?
The code for the 2FA is sent to my SIM card on my iPhone.
I also put this SIM card into the S6, but I did not get any code for the 2FA.
I was connected both via WiFi and LTE to get through the Samsung Login on the S6.
What can I do? Any Bypass? Rooting mandatory?
Thanks!

no idea?

[Q] Enter recovery password?

So my daughter got a hold of my phone. "I think" she tried entering the password too many times. Now phone just displays:
Just my Background Picture and this message below.
"To unlock, enter recovery password"
______________________________
Under this message is a Emergency Call button.
I tried my phone password, google password, and Outlook password. All not working. After entering my password, and it is incorrect I get this message:
"You have incorrectly attempted to unlock the phone 1 times. The phone will now be reset to factory default" OK button. (DONT CLICK OK, Just restart phone by holding down power button)
I then just power off and restart. After restart -> Samsung logo -> Verizon logo, it goes back to the "To unlock, enter the recovery password" screen.
Don't want to go to factory default, Any help or suggestions???
Verizon Samsung S3
Verizon just pushed out the KitKat update to my phone last month.
NOT rooted, just stock Verizon ROM.
I can call this cell. I still works. But can't get to regular unlock screen. Always just goes to this Recovery password screen.
Do a hard reset.. no another way
Really... Is there no Default "recovery password". I don't remember setting one up. Any Google work around? I tried searching online, and I don't see anything about this "Recovery Password"... Is this new or do people just not get to this screen?
Well, if there is any Odin-flashable recovery for your phone, you can flash it and then pull important data using ADB. You can also take a Nandroid backup and then use Nandroid Manager to see if you can recover any more data from the ROM.
This will void your warranty.
Bingo... So if anyone is still having this issue, you DON'T have to do a factory reset. I finally solved it (at least it worked for me). Here's how I did it. You need a Google account setup already for this phone. Go to: wwwgooglecom/android/devicemanager (add dots, come on xda, I'm not a newbie -> join in 2009) I tried to Locate and I tried to Ring, they both worked, but you need to do this -> Click the LOCK icon. Then it will try to find your phone. If it does find it, it will ask for a NEW password to "LOCK" your phone. After entering your password, your phone will "LOCK" itself. (Even though it has been locked out already) Once that is done, I went back to my phone and try entering this "new" password I setup in the: recovery password location. It works. Good luck...
Not sure how to mark this Thread as Solved...
Bloody Legend!!
You wanted to say thanks mate.
My S5 has presented me with this screen twice, in the past week! The first time it wiped my phone (and SD card).
Happy New Year!!!
J.
Going to wwwgooglecom/android/devicemanager doesn't work anymore. Now when you try that process, you will get a pop-up saying that the device is already locked and the new password you put in will not be used. You are still required to put in the old Recovery Password. I have wiped the phone and tried to find where one would put in a recovery password and cannot find it.
I contacted Samsung and they told me to use their system. Go to findmymobile(dot)samsung(dot)com and log in (assuming you registered). I logged in, went through the process to unlock my phone. I could see the notification that the unlock was successful, but the lock is still in effect. Samsung support said I would have no other option than to wipe the phone again. I asked how I could get support for the Android lock that was in effect, and they referred me to support(dot)google(dot)com. If you go there, and work your way through the menu, you find that the manufacturer of the phone is supposed to handle Android OS support.
So Samsung has added a proprietary remote unlocking feature, but somehow forgotten to disable the built-in one. Since they have that extra "feature" they won't support the default one.

Invalid/lost PIN for secure startup/ask PIN on boot screen

Hoping someone can help because my phone is completely unusable. I was in work yesterday and decided to restart my phone because the battery was draining and I didn't have a USB-C cable. It got to the "enter PIN" screen, and the PIN I've always used was invalid. I'm pretty sure I never changed my PIN, but I've used 15 of 30 guesses trying any number that I might have changed it to, and none work. I usually unlock my phone with my finger print, but that isn't possible because this isn't the standard unlock screen, it's the screen before the phone even fully boots up. It's not connected to the internet yet so I can't reset it via Google and there's no "forgot PIN" option.
To further complicate things, the power button on my phone doesn't work (though the finger print sensor still does.) The phone was in my pocket and got moist from sweat on a hot day, and hasn't worked since. So I'm not even able to get into recovery mode. I can turn the phone on by holding volume-down and connecting then disconnecting the charger. I can also get into "download mode" to flash firmware by doing the same thing holding volume-up.
I have my camera photos backed up, but nothing in my downloads directory is saved, nor any pictures received in text messages. I'm sure there's plenty of other stuff that's not backed up too. I hadn't enabled encryption. Is there any way to transfer files off my phone? I'm assuming no, especially since even "adb" doesn't see the phone in either download mode or the PIN entry screen. USB debugging was enabled, but it seems like it's only connecting in "charge only" mode.
I'm not even sure how to get the phone working again, even if I have to wipe it. Should I try flashing a stock ROM (it's not rooted or un-bootlocked)? What happens when I enter the invalid PIN 30 times?
Thanks for any help.
Edit: If it helps, it's the AT&T model, H820
think you must reflash the Rom with fatory reset option. not the best, but you have a usable devive again. Bad you cant root the device and delete just the two *.key files

What happens after 30th attempt to unlock Secure Boot?
I have forgotten the unlock pattern for my G5, which has been sitting in a drawer for the last couple of months.
What happens when I fail to correctly enter the unlock pattern for the 30th time? Will it clear the data and reset itself, if so, no biggy, or will it turn itself into a brick, which would be a biggy?
Regards,

It clears all data and factory resets itself. The only other thing is that you need the password for the Google account it was associated with, in order to use it after it resets. I think it's to prevent phone theft. I remember hearing you shouldn't try to change your Google password within ~3 days of resetting the device either, because it might not work.
Note that if it's the actual screen lock pattern you forgot instead of the startup/boot PIN, you can probably just reset it through Google's Android Device Manager website.
LG G5 SE H840 stuck on secure startup
Hi everyone.
I've tried to flash TWRP on my phone using fastboot and it seems to have worked, but when I reboot, my phone is asking for a secure startup code.
I don't have it because I don't remember setting one up... Each reboot uses 2 of the 30 try allowed and now I'm at 12 left.
I tried default_password, and some other things... not working.
I tried fastboot -w to do a factory reset, but it doesn't want to write "userdata" : "cannot flash this partition in unlocked state"...
Code:
Created filesystem with 11/32000 inodes and 4110/128000 blocks
erasing 'userdata'...
OKAY [ 0.609s]
sending 'userdata' (138917 KB)...
OKAY [ 4.361s]
writing 'userdata'...
FAILED (remote: cannot flash this partition in unlocked state)
finished. total time: 4.989s
For what it's worth : I'm french and the secure startup is in french... Is it because the initial stock rom that I used is still behind whit my settings ? Factory reset should have brought me back to English at least ?
Any help please ?
New problem, new thread.
I remember that I set a secure startup pin in my Lenovo TB3- x70L . But when I typed the pin the tab displayed incorrect pin . So I restarted it a black display appeared to enter the pin.
I tried many times typing the pin what I set . It shows all are incorrect pin . And after many attempts it says "your tab will be wiped after 7 attempts with incorrect pin".
My debugging is off ,OEM is off.(Initially).
But I some how activated debugging.
Pls help me guys if you can.
Same issue
Have you guys ever solved this issue? I am facing the same with my LG G5...
Hey i have a lg aristo 2 and forgot my lockscreen passcode i have tried multiple tips off the web and me and my fiance are both logged into her google account what can i do to get into my phone....
Lg vs087 g5
Had the same problem....Secure boot enter pin. After exceeding the 10 attempts it factory reset itself and went into setup.
I have the exact issue also on my LG G5 H830. it recognizes my fingerprint but the pin ive been using for years says its wrong pattern. I can only unlock my device with my fingerprint. f**king weird.

SM-A300FU FRP Bypass or removal

Hi there
I'm looking for some help on bypassing FRP for a Samsung Galaxy A3. Reason being is the phone was reset back to factory settings but on turning it on again after inputting the Wi-fi details, I'm greeted with a Samsung account box saying something like "this was an abnormal reset please enter details". The original problem was that I forgot the Samsung account password and thought this would remove it. At the time the AOL email address was not receiving the password reset email which is why the weird reset. To actually reset the phone, I looked on YouTube and did the way via Google Account Manager.
Anyway, to fix the problem, I read on other areas about something called Odin and managed to get other stock firmwares (UK 3G v5 and 6 of Android) but none worked to bypass this reactivation lock. Obviously the easy fix would be to log into the Samsung account and I eventually did by resetting the password (came 1 day later) but when I enter the correct details, I'm greeted with a "Processing failed" message.
I looked on YouTube again and did some RealTerm stuff which nearly worked but I could not open a browser as the phone said something about "for security". Patched I assume?
So basically is there anyway to remove FRP via some method or software that is not patched? The phone has none of this rooting or anything, I could barely understand how Odin worked. It's as stock as you would get from a shop. Ideally some software where I put the phone into Download mode, connect the USB and click "Disable FRP"?
Thank you

Here's a thought. You said that it took a whole day to get the new password from Samsung. Whenever I have asked for a reset like that, the new password was only good for anywhere between 10 minutes to a few hours. If it was delayed, I had to start the process over.
Could this be the problem you're having?

FRP & Google Account Verification Persistent Problem - Samsung Galaxy J3 2016 J320FN
Hi,
About 1 week ago I factory reset my device, and choosing language and connecting to my WiFi, it asked me to sign in to the google account last synced with my device as the device had been factory reset. So I put in my details, yet it it kept saying something along the lines of Unable to add the google account due to a recently changed password, please try again after 24 hours. However, I had not even changed the password on my gmail account AT ALL.. Then I tried with a different account, and another, and I just keep getting the same error message.
So since then I have tried wiping all data, and installing custom ROM/Stock ROM, and I am STILL getting the Google Verification crap, essentially the phone is USELESS..
It also says FRP Lock is on.
I am not sure I have any way of getting TWRP on to the phone as I do not have an SD card.
What to do?? Somebody PLEASE help!!

Question Blocked Mi 11 Lite

Hi. Yesterday evening I decided to debloat the Mi 11 Lite phone using the ADB console. Unfortunately, I did not notice that the phone was logged in to the xiaomi account and probably because of that I cannot unlock the phone now (I deleted the Mi Account and Mi Cloud apps, among others). I now have a black screen with a padlock and a choices:
- activate the device
- wifi settings
and below is some unlock code that I do not know where to enter.
After selecting "activate the device" I have to enter the password to the xiaomi account. Unfortunately, after entering the password, the phone locks up again after a second, even though the password is correct. I logged into my xiaomi account via www on my computer and removed the device from the list (there was only one to choose from) but that didn't help either.
I wanted to reinstall deleted apps via adb, but can't - adb can't see the device, probably developer options have been disabled.
Windows also does not see the device, I cannot download photos, etc. So the device is visible, but after entering the phone icon it is empty.
What can I do? The phone wipe is really the last resort
There are two ways to unlock account lock
One way
Operate directly on this phone
1. Click "wifi settings" to connect a wifi or insert a SIM card
2. Click "activate the device" and enter the password of your Xiaomi account
3. Click the Activate button
Another way
Operate on the Xiaomi cloud service website
1. Log in to your Xiaomi account on this website
2. Click "Find My Device"
3. Tap your locked device
4. Click the "three dots" on the top right
5. Click "Turn off Find Device"
6. Click "wifi settings" to connect a wifi or insert a SIM card
7. If the device still appears locked, try restarting the device
Hi.
Thank you for time in helping me.
The first solution doesn't work for me. As I mentioned filling the correct password unlocks the phone only for one second. Second solution doesn't work either. I see location of the phone on the map, but there is no "turn off find my device" option. Instead there is "turn on" option
UPDATE!
Although there was "turn on option" in find my device section, I clicked it and phone location has been turned off! And then instantly the phone was unlocked! Thank you very much.
what if I forgot my password and I can't connect to MI cloud and the above screen is still on the home screen?
how, in that case, to activate the phone regardless of the fact that I don't have to save the account?

I was able to use my second phone, where I also had Mi Accounts enabled, to change my forgotten password .
To authenticate, Xiaomi sent me the code by SMS to my previously registered phone number:
Bootloop Fastboot (stock) / Phone locked for security reason (Xiaomi.eu)
Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE (Lisa) Stock 12.5.8 EEA Bootloader unlocked, Orange Fox recovery and Magisk Canary 25.2 I was running the same set-up for a couple of months, by only updating when newer Magisk was released or some module. I never had any...
forum.xda-developers.com
You could probably also try to login via PC, and there should be a usual option like I forgot my password, that Xiaomi send you a link to your previously registered mail address, with a token to authenticate and for changing your password
thanks for the reply
