Trying to run the adb commands for system ui tuner and I get this message when trying to allow usb debugging on my pc. Because an app is obscuring a permission request, settings can't verify your response. Anyone have an idea of what app it's referring to?
You need to disable the write over other apps permissions that you set because one of those apps is what's causing it. I don't know which one, I just know that that was the consensus and it fixed it for me.

I thought this was interesting....

The developer is claiming that it gives you root level access in an ADB shell without having root. Maybe somebody here can use it to solve our bootloader issue....

Chronus Pro, been using it for years.
Figured it out took it out of the double case and it worked fine, must have been something to do with the magnet.

Turn off accessibility altogether. If that doesn't work, no idea.

I hear all the time magnets have no effect on modern phones. If you ever use a magnetic accessory you stop saying that.

It uses a magnetic charger when in the dual screen case, took it out and plugged into usb and it worked. Back in the dual screen case with magnetic charger I can run the commands just needed it out of case to get permissions from my PC i guess.

It's simply because of an app displaying over other apps on your phone.
Simply take away all the permissions of the apps displaying in the overlay and you're good to go.
Probs the dual screen overlay app.

And then when you took the charger out it reset it.

Was screwing around trying to get the wireless tether to work, and decided to backup then uninstall the mobile hotspot with titanium backup. Except for some reason TB won't restore it now. Can someone post it up for me?
It's dangerous to go alone, take this! http://www.mediafire.com/?7w6t68o0xcc24d0,ropfja21j9wvv2d P.S. That's the closest thing I could find.

I tried ImAustin's apk, which wouldn't install (thanks for the try though). However, I found a workaround. All I did was install "Hotspot Widget" by Muller from the market. Once i put the widget on my home screen, I was good to go again.

I've had the same problem. I've tried re-installing it with TB but it never completes a restoration of the app. I also tried ImAustin's apk and no luck
Wow, didn't expect this topic to still be alive.
Yeah, I did get mine fixed. I copied the APK and whatever that secondary file that some apps have to the system folder where they're all stored, and made sure the permissions were the same as the other APK's in the folder.
The updates don't look to see if the apps are installed, they just check to see if the files are in the right location. I ended up having to fix the Slacker radio app in the same way.
VERY quick google, and I think this thread is close enough to what I did

I checked to see what this is and am thinking of uninstalling it. It is the second biggest puller of power from my battery. Will there be any issues if I uninstall it?
Why do you say that? I use it only when there is an issue. Used it on my ipad and note.
Does not seem to drain.

I can verify on two separate Notes that the Mark the Spot app runs in the background constantly, and was often second or third in use of the battery. Even force closing doesn't work, it loads back up soon afterward. It seems to be using GPS occasionally in the background as well.
OH Snap, will look a bit closer then. thanks

OK, I just looked in the Task Manager, and in the About Phone for battery users, nothing in there for the Mark the Spot app.
Am I missing something.?

Have you opened it since you last rebooted? Maybe it doesn't autostart. All I know is on the two Notes I've installed it on, it kept showing up as a top battery user, and while it didn't appear in the Samsung/TouchWiz task manager, it did appear in the default Android one as being active and sucking up RAM and CPU cycles. And I noticed the GPS in use frequently. That all stopped when I uninstalled it from both.
Since my exchange question never got answered ill ask a more broad one.
Im using Jelly Bean. I have a ton of "trusted credentials" which i dont know where they came from. (a few are in another language, which makes me concerned). I would like to clear them all out, but doing them one by one would be extremly tedious and time consuming. I see their is an option to remove all certificates, however it is disabled/grayed out.
Why and how can i clear them out all at once?
Thanks

I can deactivate them one by one, but there are a ton of them. The problem is the button to clear ALL of them is disabled and i dont know why or how to re-enable it so i can just wipe them all out at once.

Ok. Appearrntly, it will only let you so a full clear of credentials if you have your phone encrypted. However, even that wont clear whats in the "trusted credentials" area. Looks like ill have to just disable them one at a time.. What a pain in the ass.
I am having the same issue. I'm having hard time believing that there is a button to remove credentials/ clear all certificates, but there is no way to use the button. Anyone have any ideas. I've searched everywhere.

I'm having the same problem with a Galaxy S5 on version 6.0.1. Has anyone figured this out? Not sure where all these certificates came from either but I want them off my phone and one by one will take forever. Plus, doing them one by one only turns them off. It doesn't remove them.

Well I have some questions about some options, features etc
Because I'm kinda new to android
Hope you S3 experts can help me out with this:
1. I have the copy/paste bug. Can't use that anymore. I've read that I had 2 options. I want to go for the option to reset my phone, because I don't want to root it or it will void my warranty. But before I want to reset I'd like to know if everything is back-upped, like my messages, all my apps, my save games from my games I've been playing etc?
2. Since I've update to JB, when typing a message there a 2 buttons the "send" button and the "media" button. Is it possible to hide the media button because it makes my text field bigger and I don't like that. I don't use that quite often, so I only want to use the media send when selecting it through my options menu. Is this possible?
3. When or why should I use the option 'lock message'?
4. Is it possible to secure 1 thread of a person with a pincode? Without rooting..
5. I have 2 routers in my house 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs. But when I'm up and going down it keeps connected with router upstairs, but the signal is very weak. Shouldn't it automatically connect to the one with the better signal quality?
6. Is it possible to connect my S3 to a laptop through bluetooth and use it as a mouse and/or keyboard without installing any software on my pc?
7. On ICS I could squeeze out 2 days worth of battery. Now on JB It is very hard to keep it alive for a half day. Did something major change? I've been taking screenshots since ICS every once in a while of my battery usage. Just look at the file names its the date Some of the latest are JB ofcourse. Images can be found here (https://www.dropbox.com/home/Public/battery)
8. Still had 1 more question but forgot it... Will post it if I remember.
Hope you guys can help me a bit!
Thanks
Can not 1 of you experts really help me? Not a single question?
Well I remebered my last question:
I' ve been reading alot and it seems that it is better to not use a task killer. But what about the build in task killer of touchwiz? You know when you keep pressing the home button. Do I need to close my apps there or not? Or shouldn't I mess with that either?
for the question number 3
lock message means that the selected message is locked
so even if you chose to delete all messages, the locked message will remain undeleted

4. I tried GO sms but didn't like it that is why I'm asking I'd like one with a plugin or something like that. Without rooting or installing a replacement sms app or something like that. But I guess there will be no solution for that huh?
5. Yeah it doesn't do that. But I'd like it to do it though. Is there a solution for that? I had an iPhone 2G and that one did it automatically and I kinda miss that option

I also have been reading a bit about this matter. I still don't know why people are rooting :s
To changes themes etc? I've installed some launchers and themes were changed instantly. So don't really know what the big advantage rooting has.
And won't my warranty void?
Thanks for the help and the answer guys! Great job

Root is to gain a higher degree of access to the operating system no more and no less.
You only root if you need it not for any other reason . It does not make your phone faster your battery longer or anything else .
99% of custom roms and modifications on XDA require root as do a number of apps.
No root and no XDA development .

Answer 1
use App backup & restore for your app. I saves the apps but not the game progress
use SMS backup & restore to backup and restore your sms
Answer 5
your router are not 'intelligent' enough to release your phone since it detects that your phone still getting the signal from your router. Not sure what router you are using..but normally home routers don't have that functions to do roaming. you will need something like ruckus or those with controllers to control the signal and of coz that will cost a bomb
Hey,
on older Huawei devices you were able to add any app you want to the App Twin feature using this method: https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-clone-any-application-with-emuis-app-twin-feature-no-root/
It doesn't seem to work anymore for the M20P. Does anybody know if something changed? Did I miss something?
