Hi, I just did the update to miui 12 and I notice that we can no longer manage authorizations for system applications.
User applications no worries, but the systems can't anymore?
So basically they can do what they want!
I missed something or we have to go back to miui 11 to get a basic function.
thanks

For some strage reason TTS settings missing from Android 4.0.4 installed on
Lenovo A789 device (223 firmware). Is there an option to enable settings menu or adjust TTS settings using some other way ? Google TTS files seems to be present in firmware - but I would like to replace Google TTS with SVOX version and as well to be able to choose language to use. In third party software built with TTS support if I press "TTS Settings" button - application just crash.
I found quite a few posts with similar issues on different devices running Android 4.0.x - but no solution posted so far.
System TTS settings suppose to be located in System settings -> Language and Keyboard settings but no TTS settings available there for my device...
By coincidence, while not trying to, I found out how to get them back. I will try and build this into my next ROM for A789, though I make no hard promises
restoring tts settings back in place

Hello cybermaus, I'm facing the same issue on a different device.
Would you mind to share the way you found to get them back?
It might apply on other devices as well...
thanks a lot!

If "Accounts" setting is missed in a Chinese Android Watch, how to solve it ?
I have bought an Chinese Watch like Android Wear, i.e. with standalone CPU & Android system inside.
As expected, it doesn't provide Google Play, but even worse, it also doesn't provide "Accounts" in the system setting interface (GUI). The latter problem will bring me difficult in sync-ing with (multiple) Google Accounts' Data. Even I think I can flash the OpenGApps with Google framework by rooting it, this solution can just bring me back the Google Play, but not bring me back the "Accounts" in system setting interface (GUI).
How can I solve it? Or any workaround ways/apps for me to access that setting ??
(N.B. Don't tell me to flash another custom ROM, since it is a rare product. No custom ROM or forum is available)
Hi to everyone,
since 6.0.1 the SIP Account settings under the phone settings are no longer available. I'm using now stock rom 7.1.1 and my questions is if there is a mod that enables the SIP account settings. My phone is rooted. I tried the Lineage and Bernis ROM,. These settings are still there but these roms have problems with loosing data connection after a few minutes after boot up. Out of this case I'm looking for a solution the enable again the in build sip account settings.
Thanks in advance for any hint
Hi,
so I had some time and I figured out, why the sip account settings are not visible within Xperia Z5C and N 7.1.1.
When I looked through my phone I saw within the oem partition the folder overlay. This folder is used that a developer do not touch the original android files and he is able to store in this place configuration files that overrides the original settings. In this folder are two files stores (of course many more) that are relevant for the SIP settings, These two files I found are: android-res-284.akp and android-res-305.apk.. These files are holding the settings for the SIP menu entries. After I deleted these two files, bingo I have my SIP accounts back and everything is working great.
So if your phone is rooted, boot into TWRP, mount your SD-Card and the OEM and at first make a copy of your complete OEM. Than switch into the OEM folder - go the overlay and delete the two files from above. Reboot your phone and your SIP accounts are back.
I'm using a 5ZC N 7.1.1 with Kernel 5.23 from tobiaswaldvogel and Stock ROM 32.4.A.1.54.
Everything what you are doing - do it at your won risk Of course your phone must be rooted.
Hi everyone, I accidentally deleted a hidden album on gallry app in my Xiaomi Redmi 5 plus, now on Miui10 mounting android Oreo. After trying to get them back trough various apps, which was pointless, I tried other recovery option using external softwares like dr.fone/fonedog/easus mobisaver. Every program finds my redmi easily, while trying to recover data seems impossible. I understand that each of these softwares need to install a service app on my phone to work, but obviously Oreo has a per-app permission to be enabled for unknown sources apps, this meaning that I can't tick a single f****ing box to do that, I have to find the app responsible for that install and then allow it to do that. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Which app is responsible for usb-installation? OFC none of the software houses above took care of explaining that for Oreo users. Any help would be appreciated guys
Every night I turn off my phone, the next day I wake up, and turn it on, and some applications such as messages, or google photos, brave browser, ask me for permissions or define defaults, this only happens after restarting the device
Which Rom are you using

In the settings for the "Info>Permissions" application in the system, there is an option to "remove permissions for inactive applications". The system will probably evaluate the application as inactive and remove the permissions.
Turn off this feature for the listed applications.
I cant find that settings anywhere
I'm on a custom ROM and can't verify if Miui supports it. But Android 11 has this feature and custom ROM also.
It's supposed to be where you set permissions for the application.
