Mac Address Shifting Option in LG V30 - LG V30 Questions & Answers

Hi All,
Currently I am experiencing an error in my TIK TOK as Network Error .
When checked online, a youtube video showed how to resolve the option, by changing default option of Mac Address of wifi to Phone Mac.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37fZxNusJDw this is the link of the video about the solution.
Unfortunately, i am not able to change the Mac Address option in my LG V30, but that option is available in my Samsung S20.
any help will be much appreciated.

[Q] OpenVPN Routing Problem

Hello
I have installed OpenVPN and its logging on to the vpn and is visible on the network list BUT I dont get any connection to another client in the vpn. I tried to ping another client from my SGS2 and from a client to the SGS2 but its always a timeout. I tried it with the phone and serveral wireless networks.
So I think it could be a routing issue but I dont have a clue how to see if thats really the problem and if its true how to fix it. I read some other posts and maybe it could also be a tun.ko problem but the SGS2 with 2.3.3 should already have installed it on the software, so I'm not sure how to see if thats ok. The Busybox is installed at /system/xbin. So does anybody have an idea how to find out whats actually the problem and how to fix this?
Thanks for your help!
Manolo
It's not clear to me if you tried connecting through your mobile data plan. Did you also tried that?
What is the IP that you are getting when your are connected to the VPN?
If it something like 192.168.1.* Then that's could be your problem. If the WIFI your are on, also gives you an ip adress as 192.168.1.* then that causes the problem. Either change the ip range of your network to 192.168.10* (just an example) or the ip range of you VPN.
ps can you post your VPN server settings?
Do you mean my own ip or the ip that i have in the vpn?
my own edge telekom ip is 10.219.127.35 and my internal vpn ip is 10.10.0.22
I can't post my vpn server settings because i got some key files for the vpn.
If you have installed installed this .zip
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16182571#post16182571
Then all you need to do is download openvpn settings from the market. And run in.
If you already did these steps, then the problem lies probably with your server and I need the server config. I don't need the keys of course
Thx!
How does this update work? I see no instructions on the post. Is it just to copy on the root folder?
Ah yes... I found how it goes and its working perfectly!
Thx a lot!

[Q] Android routing problem

Hi all!
I'm currently upgrading my home network router from a windows server to a OpenWRT one.
I've set DHCP leases from range 192.168.128.50 - 192.168.128.150 and set a static IP for my phone to 192.168.128.20
My phone is a Galaxy S3 LTE (I9305) with the stock android 4.1.2 installed and is rooted.
My OpenWRT router is giving me some problems with android/iOS phones, as a result, the only way to be able to use my wifi is to set a static IP in to my mobile. Which I prefer not to (because I want everybody, who I give my password to, to be able to go online without further setting changes.)
From what I'm able to see with LanDroid, the only thing that changes is a little thing in the 'router' part of my connection. As visible in the attached image(s).
Does anybody know WHY I have to set the static IP into my telephone? I've heard about the DNS option 121 & on my windows server I had to set option 119...,
Feel free to ask more information if I ain't clear enough.
Anybody, please?? :s
Still having the same problem and I really would love to get some help from you guys...!
fixed it myself
Hi all,... thanks for your support.....,
I've noticed my broadcast address was wrong. I've also installed raspbian instead of openwrt.
Then I followed this tutorial: http://imranasghar.blogspot.nl/2009/09/how-to-make-ubuntudebian-as-router.html ,, made some small ajustments. And it worked!

I had trouble with VPN and my G Box as well. I subscribe to VyprVPN and they said their apps don't support Streaming Boxes. However, after lots of playing around, I found that Open VPN app works great with my VyprVPN username and pass.
Hopes this helps

2.4 Ghz WiFi issues. Help!

Well if I had hair on my head I'd be pulling it all out right now. Had this phone (US998) for over a month now and still can't get it to connect to the 2.4ghz interface on my router... (Linksys WRT1900AC running OpenWrt). It had this issue before I ever bootloader unlocked and rooted or modded in any way. It connects to 5ghz without issue. I'm able to connect to certain other 2.ghz routers but others it won't. I turned on verbose logging and when I connect to my router it says "Saved", then "Disabled" and then says "Network_Selection_Temporary_Disabled", "Network_Selection_Disabled_Association_Rejection". My other phones and devices connect fine to 2.4ghz. The list of things I've tried would be a mile long. I recorded a log cat while connecting to the network and have attached that. I see some errors and lines of interest in there under the various wifi sections and wpa_supplicant but can't make sense of them. I tried adding my AP into the wpa_supplicant.conf, I tried duplicating the settings in wpa_supplicant.conf in my other LG phone onto this phone. Tried various different settings in wcnss_qcom_config including setting band capability to 2.4 only, Phy Mode to auto, 11n, 11n only. Disabled 5ghz on my router then on 2.4ghz iface changed channels, channel width, SSID, password, tried different encryption & disabled encryption and set as Open, mac address, N and legacy mode, tx power, assigned a static lease to my phone trying differnt Ip's, disabled mac filtering and hide essid. On the phone i've tried static ip, third party connection manager app, wifi analyzers, network reset...and much more. I'm so frustrated and burnt out on trying to figure this out. I have the wpa_supplicant.conf file but I can't find wpa_supplicant in system/bin or anywhere else on my phone. I just don't get it, can't figure this out and really need your help. Thanks, Duh
I don't know what the exact cause of the problem was, but I upgraded my OpenWrt firmware and now my phone will connect to 2.4ghz. But my phone still won't do screen sharing even with my Lg phone and Lg Tv (LGUK6500 AiThinQ) both connected to 2.4ghz. Any Ideas?

Did you use any of the silly "debloating" guides? Someone else did and lost the ability to mirror to their LG TV.
My opinion it's silly, because we have found out with LG stock firmware many system apps are connected. By debloating what you think you don't need, later you do need or it causes lag -- because the system "looks" for it before moving on. Also the "packages" you are removing don't have clear labels as to what they do. Any guides written are NOT written by LG nor usually even Devs, but people who mean well but don't have access to LG database.
Better to "freeze" anything unwanted in Titanium Backup, than actually remove it.

No, it's been unable to do screen sharing even with a fresh install. When I did debloat I used the debloater magisk module and removed facebook apps, instagram, some games, and froze google photos and google movies

Randomized MAC address blocks wifi access

Samsung Galaxy S10e, Android 10 stock.
I am currently a patient at an acute care facility and I use the public Wi-Fi here. Recently, changes were made to the Wi-Fi here, I understand that a new router was installed. Since then, I have been trying to access the Wi-Fi with the correct password, but I get a message that sign in is required and when I click it, I am forwarded to a page that does not load. If I select the menu option to use network as is, I seem to be connected but have no access.
In the past, when accessing this Wi-Fi, I was forwarded to a web page where I had to click a button, and then got access. That page has been gone for quite some time now and the Wi-Fi connected without any issues
Others accessing the Wi-Fi do not seem to have this issue. I tried numerous things to fix this issue, such as deleting the Wi-Fi connection and re-enabling it and resetting the network connection. The only thing that I found that resolves this issue is turning off the randomization of the MAC address and setting it to use the phone Mac address.
For privacy reasons, I would prefer to use the randomized MAC address. If for some reason my phone is being blocked on this network, which is the only thing I can think of, in my limited knowledge of how this works, it would seem my phone Mac address would it be blocked but not a randomized MAC address, because it changes.
My old Galaxy S4 running CyanogenMod Android 6 connects to the Wi-Fi fine, but I don't believe the MAC address is randomized on Android 6, if this is the reason, though this seems unlikely to me as every newer phone would have an issue, since they randomize the MAC address by default
Can anyone supply me any info on this?
@rsngfrce
If the randomized MAC address ( e.g. 32:8c:27:26:72:34 ) doesn't contain the original OEM code in its first 6 hex-numbers you might face a lot of authentication issue.

Thanks for your reply. The phone is doing the randomizing as a function of Android and I would have to assume that it would maintain the original OEM code in its first six hex-numbers if this is required (and I have read about that issue). I never had this issue until the new router was installed and I am unaware of anyone else having an issue.
