It should be leanback launcher, you can find it /system/priv-app/
Except "Leanback Launcher" is the launcher on Android TV 7.0 and below. Google swapped it out for "Android TV Home" in Android TV 8.0 and above.
yhea leanback launcher for atv 7.1.2 & older, android TV home for 8.0+
None of the above helped ! ..
leanback launcher is sucks .
Android TV Home launcher also fail to start with my android box ! .

Hi,
I'd like to buy an Android set-top box for watching IPTV, using XBMC and use several others applications (browser/facebook/Twitter/Netflix...), but I have troubles figuring out what devices will be enough for me and what apps I will be able to use with a "classic" Android remote (not a keyboard or trackpad remote controller).
Is there a way to list in the Play Store the apps that are compatible with a remote ?
I'm also confused about the new Android TV platform and the Android TV Launcher. It seems the first will only be available on some partners new devices like Sony and requires Lollipop and the latter is available for every device running at least KitKat. Is this right ?
Is it better for me to buy now a 4.4 set-top box (the Bee-link UBox R89 seems nice), or wait for a 5.0 Android TV-certified device ?
(Sorry, no links allowed in my post, I'm a new user)
Thx
good morning
I bought a few months ago a mini mx android tv box, the question I have is there a way of formatting the HDD on the android box to get rid of whats on there at the moment and then install stock android tv on there?

Go to settings, Backup restore, Factory reset.
If you want, you may install another launcher from playstore.
This APK is a modified version of the Vimeo app on the Fire TV. It works perfectly on Android TV devices, it just lacked Android TV launcher compatibility.
I've added that compatibility in, and a banner image for the launcher, in, so that it works seamlessly without having to go into the sideload launcher.
Here's the APK to download

If anyone's interrested, I used this tool to add the Android TV functionality:

I second this request!
thanks. it's very kind of you :fingers-crossed:
Thanks for your effort. Vimeo just officially added support for Android TV in their latest beta.
- Just join the beta for Vimeo.
- Go to the Vimeo play store listing in a browser (not the play store app). It should say the app name is "Vimeo (Beta)". Click the "Install" or "Installed" button. This should give you the option to choose which device to download the app on.
- Pick your Android TV device from the list
- It should show up on your Android TV within 5 minutes
Found out about this from Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidTV/comments/5eovq1/weve_been_working_on_the_vimeo_tv_app_for_the/

I think you must to extract tv firmware and mod it, because it is obsolete, i have the same problem.. I want to install app and i can't, and i think it's possible to activate "hdr" with an upgade, and i want to do, but i do n't know how to extract firmware (xscuse my English, i'm italian) i have experience with mod firmware, mod app etc..
The model i have is GRAETZ GR43E5600, and i think that with the help of xda developers we can do this
Recently got an android tv box the a5x max 4k, but having issues with most apps because the box is being recognised as a mobile phone to the apps won't work with the remote. I've a similar box that correctly shows the apps and allows for the remote.
Is there a way to force the box by android to display apps in tablet mode / TV mode?
Tried to root the box using king root but won't work
Anyone have a solution to this?
U're rooted? Xposed like the app " app settings ".
Yes, never heard of xposed before, going to look into it. Thanks for the suggestion.
