Hi i have Samsung galaxy s9+ , probably from Verizon (By thw SW version).
The phone is currently being used outside United States.
I want to know the differences between the following official firmware, and understand which is the best for my use.
1. G965U(CCT) - Currently installed on the phone (Carrier open)
2. G965U(VZW)
3. G965U1(XAA)
4. G965U1(VZW)
I think that 2 is the original firmware that was on the device at first.
Is it better to install it on the phone? Is it carrier locked?
-
Is there any difference between 3 and 4 or is it the same firmware?
-
What is the difference between the Carrier Open G965U (like xfinity) to G965U1?
so install it and report to us.

Do any of these Root or Roms work with the 6.0.1 model 404sc / SW-G925Z from Japan ?
Im sorry, but they all fail to mention this model number.
I find it hard to believe that 20 versions of the phone have been unlocked, but japan has not.
is it possible to root - rom - back up the 6.0.1 404sc / SW-G925Z currently ?
could someone explain how?
ive rooted every android and iphone ive ever owned.
but this is my first contract phone, and its the first one which fails to be listed.
Try pingpong root app. It might work.
can any know if its possible to get 3g 900mhz band on s6 edge g925A variant, any method?
Flashing TMO us firmware onto Canadian device? Getting ready to spend a $1000 on a Canadian deep sea blue note 8. Just wondering since it's a snap dragon if I could flash 100% stock t mobile firmware on it and have it work like an "out of the box" t mobile note 8. I'm not interested in rooting(not just yet anyways). I just wasn't sure if this would be the same process of the carrier flashing we do here in the states. Flashing the stock t mobile ap/cp/csc/bl all on the Canadian device is what I'm trying to accomplish.
I don't see why it wouldn't. The only difference between the devices is the firmware. The hardware is all the same. As a matter of fact, a method of carrier switching relies on flashing the Canadian firmware onto your device and then flashing whatever other firmware variants you want. So, with that said, flashing a TMO variant on your Canadian device shouldn't be a problem at all.
I don't think you will be able to flash the American firmware onto the Canadian Note 8 without any issues. They have different model numbers (N950U for US vs. N950W for Canada) and therefore probably also have different bootloaders. The American firmware will have to be modified for the Canadian model by replacing the bootloader, CSC, and PIT files among others. A tedious process and not always a successful one.
Perhaps you will be successful but if not you can still switch CSCs with a CSC changer zip that's floating around. I've used it to switch from the Korean CSC to the Canadian CSC because I bought a Korean model and wanted it to work properly in Canada.
Check the S8 and S8+ forums...seems they have had success in doing this
Hi,
I plan to buy from a friend a phone samsung galaxy s7 sm-g930a that was bought from ebay.
But what I need is an international rom in order to have it on my local full language , like samsung sm-g930F model.
Is it possible to install an an international rooted stock rom on Samsung galaxy S7 sm-g930A ?
I yes then how to do it?
Thanks
The phone you're ordering, from the model number, is a phone with a Qualcomm processor. You can't use custom ROMs or unlock the bootloader on Samsung phones that use Qualcomm processors due to security measures.
However, you can root these variants, and, depending on your local language, you'll probably be able to select the language from the settings menu without having to use a different ROM. Just go through Settings>General management>Language and input>Language>Add language and see if you can find the language.
Ok, so I have the SMG991U and almost every time it's in 5G I have no internet: it feels almost as though there is no date.
Tried poking around and I can't find anything but I'm sure I can't be alone. I think I had the issue with 12 (hard to say as I was carrying two phones at the time - one work one personal). Now that I'm down to one phone and this is my primary, it's pretty damn annoying (to say the least).
There are places where 5G is working fine, but most of the places when it's on 5G it's as though I have no coverage. When it rolls into 4G it's flying.
If I could set it to run 4G only that'd be great BUT there is no option for that. Any suggestions?
I'm running Android 13. All current updates. Baseband is G991USQU5DWa8
Try this dialer code and report results.
It lets you disable 5g bands. The app won't work probably, it was messed up before 13 came out, try it out and let us know!
How To LOCK LTE Band Without Root on SAMSUNG Device
This method is specifically for Samsung Galaxy. Because the default hiddennetwork system application is available. for devices with other brands and types, I haven't tried it. Please follow the following methods: 1. You need to install this app...

" does *#2263# give you the menu to select bands for each SIM slot?
This is another way to choose LTE bands but a little annoying." .
Btw since you're on u5, you could roll back to the one from May 2021, i used the T-Mobile cvdb version. It lets me use that app to easily switch bands as a few bands are worse than dial up in my area
This is Verizon's cvdb

*#2263# does not work. Regarding rolling back to a different version, Verizon is locked every which way there is. Otherwise I'd be running a custom ROM

You can roll back... The u5 of your current version means you can roll back to that one I linked which is also u5. After doing this,
Also remember to adb disable the update app
( com.wssyncmldm )!
If it were u6, you can't go to a u5 firmware.
I forget what that's called, some kind of revision number. Older ones could be rooted and use custom roms.

Hi,
I have an AT&T S21 5G that I unlocked and now use on Verizon. It works fine but it's stuck on an older version of Android 12. When I check for updates in settings it doesn't show as having any, yet I've read Android 13 was pushed to Verizon already.
Is it because I switched carriers that it wont show any updates? Do I have an option to push Samsung OEM Android 13 to my S21 without losing all my stuff? Am I just stuck with what I have?
I'm just looking for options and some options.
Thank you for your help

Download the latest U/U1 firmware from SamMobile/ Frija and flash with Odin. Make sure you flash HOME_CSC, not CSC as that will wipe data.
Ok, so when I look up the model on SamMobile it only shows up to Android 12, so maybe 13 isn't available for it yet? My software version is AT&T, I wonder if I should push it over to the Verizon latest update even though it's not 13.
