Not sure about data, but you can back up APK's with any good Folder explorer, I have used Folder + https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alphainventor.filemanager&hl=en to back up APK's in the past

Thank you to mi_vercetti.It would have been better if it is capable of transferring App datas also.I have contacted the Developer to know whether it is possible.

Didn't occur to me that I wasn't going to have Super User rights for the Titanium backup on the new 3d. So I have the Titanium backup files from the 4g but I don't currently have a way to restore them because Titanium's refusal to work with out root access. Any suggestions? And no, I don't have the 4g anymore. Only idea I have is to have someone at work with a 4g that would be willing to restore and then backup with something else not requiring root access. But would rather try this on my own first.

i got like 35 apps lol!
so im gonna be C:\ to my folder a lot today
FYI: The apk is actually inside a zipped file (gzip?). Make sure you extract it first. If you're using windows, I don't think it will extract .gz files, so use/install 7-zip.
Also, you might want to try "adb install c:\folder\*.apk" to see if it installs all the apk's at the same time.
No, adb install *.apk just re-install's the app but not the data. There seems to be a *.properties file also. I'm thinking that has the data.

The adb install c:\folder\*.apk works but just installs the app. It throws an error if the app is already installed. But still doesn't restore previous data to the app.
Is there a way to do this without adb.

Yes, use MyBackup, this will allow you to restore a Root backup to a non-root phone, and visa vera. But the Data of the application can only be done if rooted.

Root explorer. It works like a conventional file manager, without root.
I'm using root explorer but when I go to get an apk file it has a gz extension

Hi guys,
I have recently make a wrong decision with my Gs2. I tried to use Titanium backup to change All Sharing and Social Hub as a User Application. And that result in these apps disappear from my phone. I tired to put the dlna.apk and social-hub.apk back to the "system/app" while nth new come back after a reboot. I think that's because i miss the odex file related to the apps. As I am using Offical Hong Kong Rom KG2, would somebody like to help me by uploading those files [dlna, social hub apk&odex]
Thanks

I have tried this list and put those apk in to system/app, yet the program have not come back even after a reboot.....
I use Root Explorer for installing .apk files.
Can you not download Social Hub and DNLA via Samsung Apps?

I got those APKs from the list you have posted.
And install them by using root explorer
My way to install is to move from sdcard to "/system/app"
I even changed the permission of the apks but still they don come back
thanks!

I never move them before installing - just put them on internal SD and install from there. Try it?

Try applications>manage applications>clear cache and maybe clear data for those apps if they are there.
Otherwise I'm out of ideas...

Good luck. Don't suppose you've got a full backup via CWM or you'd have reflashed it, right?

yeah, and gonna try to flash some awesome rom too
Attached are both apps' apk & odex files.
Hope it helps mate
I don't think you can install system files with root explorer, you need to flash it through recovery. I was having the same problem and flashing worked for me.

You just push them to the /system/app/ folder and reboot - that's all a recovery zip would do.
Thx Guys!!!!
My finally method was reflash the official rom..... that nearlly kill me as i have to reorder the application icon which take me an hour to finish that....
I don know how to use the recovery method but hope this post would help others who face the same problems.
Btw is there any apps to backup the order of icon in Application page? Rearranging them again is damn horrible if u got tons of apps......

Hi,
I made a full backup into Kies in case anything went wrong, but realistically knew that anything I would want would already be backed up (contacts to Google, photos to Dropbox) - but I just realised I completely forgot about my girlfriend's 'The Curse' save data!
I'm running CM10 and have connected my phone to Kies, but it just says "Connecting" - I guess there's no way to restore using the app?
Where would I transfer app data from to restore it back to the phone?
Thanks

I might be wrong, but it would surprise me if Kies would work with a rooted phone (whatever ROM you are using) for the restore feature.

Damn.... thank you (I've made a huge mistake!)
In the Samsung folder on my local backup I have a file called com.toystudio.thecursefree-1.apk
Is it like iOS where I can copy the entire APK file to my phone (to which location?) and it'll copy my save data too?

the .apk usually is only the app itself. Maybe there is some way to open the KIES backup and extract the data file?
You could maybe try this one in the temp folders?
Thanks chris
Once u root your phone and use any custom ROM, Kies will not detect your phone...

So, my x10 crashed 2 months ago and I'm really eager to recover the contacts from the phones memory. Have tried searching for a way to do this but so far I haven't. The phone is stuck in a reboot loop, but I hope the data is still there to be recovered somehow. The only backup I have is a 5month+ old .sbf file, and I'm having trouble restoring the contacts from that on my new phone.
I KNOW now, that I maybe should have backed up more frequently to google (last done in december 2011..) but the sbf file is what i have that is recent. Any suggestions/threads/tools for this?

If your phone is backed up with your google play account then you should just use the email in another phone and you will restore your contacts if not then not so likely

If You can access the phones memory go to data>data folder and search for the phone folder. There should be a whole database of Your contacts

I hope You have root and USB debugging enabled.
If so, You can use my program to connect the phone in xrecovery mode and access the system files.
If You don't have root, You can try to root it, install good kernel (like doomkernel), backup Your current os, flash new ROM and restore the data.
Here's how to root the phone: http://adfoc.us/4207223735421

I have the same phone and model, the Y625-U21. Many weeks ago,I renamed accidentally the system file "framework-res.apk" and it won't boot until I will flash the ROM. You must do that to recover the apks. What's the problem? The phone was launched on July. There's no ROM of our phone on the whole internet and Huawei doesn't provide it. So we are without a functional phone until there's a ROM.

If your sister's phone is the Y625-U21 too and works, you can dump the ROM and flash it on your phone so it will work again
You have to install the phone and contacts app from the same version of the phone on the same exact update. You can not install the apps just by clicking on them, you need to use a root enabled file manager and move them to the /system/app folder and set the permissions to 0644 - rw-r-r.
