Hello everyone,
My aunt gave me a chinese smartphone (n9000 i9220 pad) with the lcd screen broken.
I tried to control it from my pc with this software ([email protected]). It NEEDS USB debugging to be activated in order to work. Since my aunt obviously didn't have it activated, I could only see the smartphone's screen when I entered to recovery (Where i think debugging it's activated by default). So I need to activate the USB debugging option with no image from the smartphone. To archieve this, I found a solution that consists in editing manually a file on /system, but since it's not rooted, I don't have write permissions on /system.
I'm not gonna die if I can't do this, but I want to know if it's really possible.
More info:
Exact model: e1809l_v75_gq1008_ov5647_v20
*I can access the smartphone with adb, so If anyone needs more info that I could retrieve from it, just tell me.
Hey there,
Recently my Galaxy S3 fell to the floor and the display broke. Now I'm desperatly trying to recover all of my data from the internal phone memory. The memory has 16gb in total, but when i copied it to my hard disk drive i could only copy 2gb. It seems that the camera folder (DCIM) is the only folder taht has been completely restored. Is it possible that all other folders are pin locked? Or is it more likely that the storage is broken? Anyway, what i really need to recover is the phone calendar, since not all entries had been synced with google calendar. I can't find ANY calendar file on the internal storage, and i've searched most common places (data/data/android.provider.calendar etc.). My research showed taht the only way to access the phone with recovery apps is when the debug mode has been activated. Since the display is broken there's no way for me to activate it.
In short, my questions:
- Why can I see only some of the internal storage? (2/16GB) -> broken or locked?
- do you have any idea how i can restore the phone calendar since there doesn't seem to be any calendar file?
- is there a way to activate the Debug mode with a broken screen?
I consider buying a new display just to be able to access the files. But since i don't want to waste any money i need to be 100% sure that this works. But the fact that i've only been able to copy 2GB from the internal storage and that i dont seem to find the calendar files makes me doubt that this will help at all.
additional info: I'm accessing the phone via USB cable without a sim card.
Thanks for any help.
Edit:
I also tried connecting the phone to Kies (i never used Kies before) by activating the "download mode" on the phone by pressing some buttons at the same time when turning the phone on. Kies seems to recognize something but it just keeps on saying "connecting to phone..." for hours. I take this as another indication that the phone might be broken beyond the display.
Edit2:
I found this:
inaccessible folders: folders you won't see due to lacking permissions, e.g. those in /data. To protect your apps' data, those folders belong to the corresponding application, and are only accessible by the app (in the context of file-permissions; please see the tag's wiki for closer information on those). To make those visible, you need root access on your device, and a file explorer supporting that (e.g. ES File Explorer)

Is there any way i can get root access to the phone with a broken display?

You can try it by means of Android Device Manager
Through Android Device Manager which is also called as the Find My Device, you can remotely ring a device, change its lock, locate it or you can even erase its content. For this purpose, you will have to follow a few steps given below.
From any device, go to the Android Device Manager’s Official Website.
Once you open the website, Log in with your own Google account credentials.
Here, a list of all the connected devices to your Google Account appears.
When you select your device, you will get different options to choose from- Erase, Ring or Lock.
Now Press the Lock Option so that you can change the lock pattern on your device.
Now you will have to provide a new password for your device and also write an optional recovery message.
Choose these changes and then exit the window to change the lock your Android Device.
I have tried it earlier. When i click lock device it just locks device with my customised message. I think from Android 7 ownwards their is no option to change password from Android device manager when device is locked.

I got the paid version of EDS by sovworks. You create a container like TrueCrypt/VeraCrypt and use it that way.
It works very well for me.

For Android handsets and tablets running Android 5.0 Lollipop or newer, you can navigate straight to the “Security” menu under settings. Getting here might be slightly different depending on your OEM, but with stock Android, this can be found under Settings > Personal > Security.
Here you should see an option to “Encrypt phone” or “Encrypt tablet”. You’ll be asked to plug your phone in to charge while the process takes place, just to make sure that your phone doesn’t shut off and cause errors. If you haven’t done so already, you will be prompted to set a lock screen PIN or password, which you will need to enter when you turn your phone on or unlock it in order to access your newly encrypted files. Be sure to remember this password!
Main objective: Find any way to enabling application transfer from internal storage to external storage.
The device has 16 GB of internal memory, which is definitely not enough to use additional applications. It looks like the option to transfer apps from internal storage to external storage for this particular model is forbidden. This situation makes it practically impossible to use this device any longer. I have tried many ways to resolve the problem. Unfortunately i failed. Therefore, I am asking for help from specialists from this forum if there is any way to make it possible way to do this taking into consider the inability to obtain the code from the site, which I am writing about below.
What i have tried already:
Enabling programmer mode and therefore changing the option that is blocking transfer to external storage. Unfortunately switching is not possible in this case. Enabling this option automatically forces return to the previous state.
Installing applications that are supposed to enable such transfer. Most of them are crap and scam.
Attempting to upgrade system with a built-in option and with Hi Suite. There is no option to upgrade firmware or downgrade by using this options.
Attempting to upgrade system with Firmware Finder for Huawei. I don't think I can get anything more than just downloading the firmware using this app. The idea was to force the installation of a newer version of the operating system by forcing some changes in the built-in updater.
Root and open firmware attempts:
At first, I was looking for a way to gain root access with the app available (kingRoot, KingoRoot etc.). Neither of them worked
I tried to install custom recovery. I turned on usb debugging, disabled the OEM lock and I was able to set the connection to the device.
When I tried to upload a custom recovery I got a message saying that this method is forbidden.
I was looking for information about the problem and so I found out that the botlooader is locked and that I need a special key to unlock him.
Next I found information that it is possible to obtain this key using paid applications and I'm skeptical about them.
Another option was to try to get this code from the manufacturer. It turned out that it was actually possible, but for some time Huawei as a manufacturer no longer provides these codes, which was confirmed to me by a person employed on the HelpDesk hotline.

Thanks for the tips I was able to unlock my AGS-W09 for 4 euro too (I would not have paid 40 euros for this device!).
I just lost several hours to understand and find the way to the "manufacter mode" on a tablet !
For those looking how to: launch the calc app and enter ()()2846579()()
an hidden menu will popup and you will be able to setup USB ports.

Sorry, it wasn't mine, I don't have it anymore.
As I remember, It was the stock calc app, in landscape mode in order to have the "()" but that's all.
But the firmware is very important: it should be Android 7, and not the 8 (I don't remember the exact firmware version).
This said, I wasted my time rooting this tablet, it's pretty useless. Apart removing two stock apps and installing AdAway, I was not able to do much more. Unfortunately, there are no custom rom to give a new youth to device.
I got all the prerequisites, try to flash twrp in recovery but get the error: the partition table doesn't exist. Is there any solutions for this?
