Where did this accuweather widget come from?

So I'm playing around with custom ROMs when the official ICS update comes out. I load it and decide I want to re-root and move back to a custom ROM.
I loaded FJMOD's ROM and then updated to his build 3.
Somewhere along the way, this accuweather widget comes up on my lock screen. It never updates so I want to get rid of it.
Now I'm showing my newbiness - how? There's no option to uninstall in applications. I can see 2 icons listed in System -> Applications - Accuweather Weather Daemon and AccuWeather.com. I can't uninstall either.
I'm guessing this is easy, but I can't find it. Can someone point me to a reference to uninstall "uninstallable" applications?
BTW - I tried to disable the apps, and that worked. But I still can't uninstall.
Thanks
Download tb free and un install. It'll be a system app but you can remove it

Hide or delete software updates

A friend has Samsung Galaxy s6 edge. Not having data slot card, runs out space.
Software update has been clicked , not installed, pending.
Stopping/disabling clear data or disable system notifications and google play notifications do not work to hide the update.
Does anyone know the file location of System updates to delete the update as it is 1.5G? or a way to hide the notification without ROOTING the phone as this will void warranty. Package disabler roots the phone, so we cannot use it.
Searched in /data/data/ google android gms nothing in there....
You can't access unber root / the files without root the device
You maybe see some stuff but the folders will be empty and not reachable
The /data/data/ needs root access sorry...

Create system app with the ROM and prevent from being disabled

For a project I need to install an app in a custom rom as a system app to prevent being uninstalled. The problem comes with Android 6, where some system apps can be disabled. For example, Google apps like Youtube or Gmail can be disabled, but other apps like Calendar, Messages or Clock can't be disabled.
Now I'm placing my apk inside /system/priv-app but my app can be disabled. ¿Any idea how to prevent that?
Thanks in advance!
With custom roms there is no way to prevent it. All it takes is root and a root browser or an adb command.

Thanks for the quick response. Well, I assume that using root or adb apps can be unninstalled.
The only thing I want is to prevent a "normal user" to uninstall the app throught the Android UI.
With the app now on /system/app/my.apk I've achieved to prevent Android from uninstalling the app, but it can be disabled (Android 6.0). So my question is how can I prevent also from disable the app?

As far I know there is no way to prevent it. If there is it will be a bool settings. I would look at an app that doesn't allow disabling it. But I think you might need a Google signature for that.
Search stack overflow and you might find something.

Is this Malware and how to find what it is?

Hi All:
Quick question: have you ever seen something like this? A software update that does not say what's the app or operating system to be updated and who is the publisher?
When I click the back arrow to the left of "Software Update", there isn't any other user interface. I am simply sent to the home page of my cell.
Is there any way to completely remove this package? From where?
Thank you very much! As a new user, I can't post links to screen captures, but you can just add http to the front of these:

Is this really a system update then it can be official but if not then it is probably a malware
Go to system settings< about phone<system update and check weather there is really an update or not. If yes, then it is official but if no, then you will have to uninstall the malware using some root removal apps available on play store abundantly
Also check u have not given root permissions to whatsapp and zygote since both if them are malwares which probably ask root access as soon as your device is rooted

You can't remove any of the the system apps using a app. No matter how many times you try. It will restore again. I tried it and finally decided just to disable those things which i don't want.
I successfully removed the SYSTEM UPDATE app of EUI. I tell the method. But i don't know it will work for all. If you removed something you don't know, it will flood error messages. Take a backup before doing it and I'm not responsible if you got phone bricked or flooded with error messages Just install root uninstaller.

It will show the importance of any system app. Except these updater, file manager and the apps you know which can be replaced, don't do anything to the apps marked as key module.
You need a root browser for this. I use solid Explorer.

Give root permission and go to ROOT -> SYSTEM - >APPS
all the system apps are here. Just find the one you don't want and delete it or keep it somewere else if you want it again. Reboot the phone. Some apps have services installed as separate app. Most of the google apps will have that. You have to remove both. Or else the service module will show tones of error messages. Be careful in doing this.
