hi guys, i recently bought xperia 1 and i need to use the hotspot with 5ghz band, but from the system settings it doesn't seem to be activated.
can anyone tell me how to do it?

Can any one tell me how to connect to adoch wifi networks. I created an WIFI hotspot using My nokia 5800. Previously i used it with some other phones like E63. In my X10 it is not at all showing the wifi signal.

Hello Together, I'm running the Xperia Ray on SE Stock Rom 4.0.4 with Sirkay's kernel 8.22 and realised a problem with the WIFI connection.
To expand the range of the network I installed a Fritz!Box 7390 (newest firmware) (base station) and connected a further 7270 Box in WDS mode with the same SSID and the same password.
Unfortunately the Ray doesn't switch automatically between both access points. It only switchs by disabling and enabling the WLAN in the menu.
Hansip87 wrote in his tutorial the WIFI Tweaks (Burstmode . . .) unfortunately they aren't available anymore in tiwlan.ini only the option for 2,4 and/or 5Ghz band.
Does anyone know how to force the ray to switch the access point if a stronger network is available? I tried the app WIFI jumper, but it doesn't work. Therefore I tought, the problem is caused by the settings of the ray.
Maybe someone can give me an adivice.
My Xperia Tablet Z Wifi seems to be having issues connecting to only HIDDEN 5GHz band Wifi access points. If I unhide the SSID's, the Tablet Z will connect to them. Has anyone run into this issue? Is there a workaround? I have the Xperia Z LTE phone, and it connects to both 2.4GHz and 5GHz hidden SSID's just fine. The tablet is an SGP311 w/ JB 4.1.2. I'm pretty sure it isn't a router problem if my Z phone and other 5GHz devices don't have any issues connecting to the 5GHz hidden SSID. Any help and/or insight appreciated, thanks!
there is a way to connect to hidden networks. Tap + to add networks, enter network name (ssid) and password and it should connect to it even if it is hidden and is not shown in networks list.
Hello, I'd like to ask if there is a way to make Xperia P use 5GHz WiFi networks. I've tried setting my router to 5GHz band but sadly after doing that the network wasn't even visible for my phone. I've heard that Sony disabled it for the phones although the WiFi chip supports it, so maybe there is a way to enable it. I'm on custoMIUI rom with Phantom kernel now but I've tested others, stock based too, with no luck. Thanks in advance.

Recently i bought a xiaomi duel band router and i have separated 5GHz and 2.4GHz band in the router setting.
But my redmi 9 pro is showing only the 2.4 GHz SSD. Though it worked on 5GHz for few hours.
***There's no problem in the router as my laptop and other devices are working fine in 5G band.

I tried to manually add the network SSID and password but it didn't work.
Then i have tried to change the channel in router setting. It didn't work either.
Did anyone have faced this problem and know any solution?
This is a bug in android 11, the temporary solution is first open the hotspot and the connect wifi , wifi connected then go to wifi setting and change 'dhcp ip' into 'static ip' and then turnoff hotspot.

Sorry didn't get you. 5GHz SSID is still not showing so how can i connect to that?
