How to bypass Lockscreen - Samsung Galaxy A21s Questions & Answers

Hi all,
I recently purchased a Samsung A21s, running Android 10, for my wife and set it up so that when she pressed the power button to use it it went straight to the home screen. No Lock Screen at all.
She wanted to try the Fingerprint option so I set that up however she did not like it so I deleted her Fingerprint. Now I cannot find out how to bypass the Lock Screen, she how has to swipe to unlock. There is no "None" option either in the Lock Screen Settings, cannot remember if there was originally.
At the moment I press the power button, swipe on the lock screen, and it takes you to the home screen.
It used to:
Press the power button and it takes you to the home screen.
I just cannot figure out what I did initially to bypass the Lock Screen altogether. Can anyone stop me from going mad?
TIA

No ideas anyone?
I would really appreciate any input at all.

Try this go to Settings < General Management < Reset < Reset Accessibility Settings if that doesn’t work choose the first option Reset Settings.

Thanks for the suggestions, however neither solved the issue.

How to change the setting to get to the home screen, without swiping. Go to Settings > Lock screen > Lock screen type, and from the list select None.

Unfortunately there is no None option in the list.

Sorry if you tried that already, then I'd say the phone might need a software update.
If the software is up to date, lack of the "None" option, might have to do with a finance app, such as Google Pay, Samsung Pay, or banking apps. I think they have to have a lock screen, if you have a finance app installed and active, that might be why the option is hidden.
Related to this, I notice there's a toggle setting called Security policy updates. It's in Biometrics and security > Other security settings > Security policy updates. I'm not sure exactly what that does, but I'm assuming limiting options in settings, to comply with app security, might be part of it.

Thanks for your reply. I have no finance or banking apps on the phone so I guess this is not the cause of the missing "None" option. I still think it was related to me enabling fingerprints and then disabling it, though I'm not 100% sure. It is just do annoying. Have also contacted Samsung who "jumped" onto my phone to have a look around and they were unable to find the cause as well.

Settings lock screen then lock screen type and then none it should be there

Need Quick Widget Locker Help

I have my widget locker all configured to my liking and such, but when I press the power button to turn off the screen, it shuts off but then instantly comes back on again. Basically I have to press power twice in order to achieve screen off status.
I'm wondering if there is somewhere in the settings I did this or can fix this? I'll reset and start all over if necessary, but was hoping someone here could help me.
Hmm... sounds odd man. I never had that issue and I have been playing with it for a bit. My best guess is you may have Easy Wake on in the settings. That will wake your phone when you touch Home, Menu, Back, or Search. Maybe your palm is hitting those buttons when you hit the power button??
If that's not it I would start over...
Nah man Easy Wake is unchecked as well as everything in that section. I really wish someone would have a fix for this. I guess I'll start all over and then post if I'm still having the problem.
Haven't reset everything yet, and I'm just noticing some more problems. If I press the volume rocker up or down while the screen is off it turns the screen on. Also sometimes when I turn the screen off, after about 5 seconds it'll randomly turn back on. This is similar to my original post problem, but the screen waits longer to come back on. Anyone use Widget Locker on your ThunderBolt and have success with it? I'm having nothing but problems.
1) Go ahead and go into applications under the main phone settings clear all Widgetlocker data. What you're describing is Easy Wake mode though you say that it unchecked. WL's settings might have gotten screwy and clearing the data should set it straight.
2) Go into the advanced settings of WL and make sure that you haven't disabled the notification icon. For some reason the old sense lock screen would cause issues if I had that checked.
3) Are you rooted? If so go into the advanced settings of WL and make sure Root Helper is checked.
Let me know what happens.
Shoot kevin an email. Hell get back to you quick. Very responsive dev.
working fine on my TB, not that it helps you any lol.
Seems as though my problems have gone away by simply disabling my security pattern.
mob87 do you use a security patter/pin/password with widget locker? Does anyone else?
Any one have any suggestions on how to get my security pattern/pin to work with Widget Locker?

I am having the same issues as the OP, will clearing all the data as described above, wipe everything that I have configured for the lock screen and I will have to start all over or not?
Also what does selecting "Root Helper" in advanced settings actually do?

Yes, it will clear all wl data and you will have to reconfigure your lockscreen. As far as roothelper I've never used wl so I really don't know, hopefully someone else can help you with that

I'm on a rooted Desire HD and I'm having the exact same issue with the screen coming back to life immediately after pushing the power button. I'm forced to have a PIN due to Exchange security settings.
I'll report the issue to the dev.
im having the same issue on m HTC desire. and im using Password pin protection as well.
i tried clearing the widgetlocker data/ downloaded the new superuser app from market and even reinstalled the app but still i can't find the solution.
if anyone has the update on this please let me know.
Anyone come up with a solution to this? I have an Inc2 with the issue. I also have to have a PIN for my Exchange server, so I imagine that's what's causing it. But, it's quite annoying and it'd be nice to have a fix.
Short Answer:
This happens on some HTC devices if the PIN activates immediately after the screen goes off, it will not happen if you delay the pin by either:
System Settings > Security > Lock screen after > 3 Minutes
or
WidgetLocker Settings > Long-press volume down for Experimental > HTC > HTC Lock Delay > 10 (seconds).
Long Answer:
WidgetLocker actually never turns the screen on by itself, however it does activate at screen off. HTC's pin screen on some (mainly newer) devices will wake the screen if something happens after the pin has activated. So WidgetLocker activating trigger's HTC's pin to wake the screen. (Ugh). But if it's delayed then it's no such issue. I haven't found a non-delayed solution to this yet. WidgetLocker's setting does the same thing as HTC's, however WidgetLocker lets you enter the number of seconds as whatever you want. Less than 10 seconds may work, but 10 seconds seems to consistently work across different devices and configurations and it's still really short so I'd recommend that.

[Q] Disable screen lock

Hello,
I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy SIII.
I used to have no password protection on my phone, just a screen lock that had to be unlocked by swiping. However recently, I had to agree to enabling a password when installing an application (I forgot what application I installed). Now, the options 'no password', 'swipe', 'motion', 'face unlock' and 'face and voice' are "Disabled by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage".
Is there a way to enable those options again? as mentioned, my phone is rooted.
I hate having to type a password or pin everytime I unlock my phone. Furthermore, when the screen is idle but the phone is unlocked, tapping the home button takes you out of the application so the power button has to be pressed. However this power button is also the lock button, so often this locks my phone when I tap it twice by accident or when I tap it when the screen is on but backlight is dimmed.
Please, I know many people would advise me to have a password on my phone, but I don't want it period. So don't try to convince me to leave it enabled.
Already many thanks for the help!
If the application that forced you is still there there is no solution.
You should look in Settings> Security> Device Administrators to see if the app is admin, and disable it.
Thank you for your reply.
However, I went into settings > security > device administrators: there was only one application ticked as a device administrator, being Samsung Kies. I unticked the box, and rebooted my device, but in settings > lock screen nothing has changed.
Furthermore, I guess Kies has to be an administrator to have it function properly?
Is there really no solution to this?
Hey
Which rom are you using?
And also try a factory format..that migght get this okay again...but it will DELETE ALL YOUR DATA LIKE APPS, CONTACTS, etc...
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
i had the same problem but i installed some CA security certificates for WiFi hotspot on my university(credential storage) that requires more secure screen lock (password,PIN,gesture pattern)
here is the solution, fail your PIN/password/pattern on purpose enough times to see the "Forgot password"option. Then click on it and unlock your phone with your google account. afther that it will lead you to "Choose your screen lock style" page, and DO NOT click any of them since you will be only able to choose PIN/password/pattern, just click back button few times to exit from that screen, and that's it. you will now have screen unlock with swipe AND with whatever-asked-you-for-secure-lock working

[Q] Is there a way to disable the secondary lock screen?

Hello,
I'm not sure what the name is for the second lock screen but a lot of times when I try to wake my phone and get to a text message or email or the browser, it wants me to go to a screen where you can probably add some apps but not fully open the phone but I just find that annoying as can be. It has a little plus at the bottom. I NEVER want that I just want to always fully unlock my phone when I swipe the screen.
Is there a way to do that or what am I doing wrong that it brings me to the second lock screen?

Settings > My Devices > Lock Screen
Uncheck "Multiple Widgets"
Also, go into "Lock Screen Widgets" and turn "Favorite apps or Camera" OFF, though the above option should disable this entirely.

[Q] Disable screen lock on G3?

Hello,
I had tried a password, then I switched it to PIN. I realize I don't really want a lock at all but the top option to disable it is greyed out - my only three choices seem to be to switch between PIN, password and patten. I'm guessing there is another place to disable it but I can't find it.
Thanks

Yes - that is the problem the top selection - NONE is greyed out. I can only select between pattern, pin and password.
ALL items but the bottom 3 choices on that screen are greyed out.

You have an application installed that requires a password.
Maybe you have an exchange account and the policies are set, something.
I can disable the password on my phone with no issues.

Go into "Settings"
Then "Security"
Then "Phone Administrators"
Then you will need to deactivate "Foxfi" as a device admin, by selecting it then deactivating it.
If that doesn't work, I'm at a losss.

Thanks - I looked there - I have email - which has always been there and android device manager.
It turns out it was indeed foxfi. I went to security - clear credentials and it worked!!

[SOLVED] Turn off suggestions from settings in Nougat?

I really don't need to dismiss "on body location" yet one more time. Is there a way to turn off these things that appear unbidden at the top of Settings?
I'd like to stop these annoying messages too. Anyone know how to turn them off?

It took me awhile, but I think I've come across the solution.
First, you need to set up some kind of screen lock (not just swipe). I just used a "z" pattern. Next, tap on that annoying nag at the top of settings. This will lead you to some blah-blah. You need to enable this useless feature (which probably does not work on the NT anyway....) and then reboot.
Return to Settings>Security and look for "Smart Lock". Disable on-body-location. Now go back to your screen lock setting and return it to what it was (swipe, in my case). Reboot.
So essentially you need to enable the feature, reboot, disable the feature, reboot, and you're good to go.
Go to Settings and if the nag is still there use the three dots to banish it. It's gone for good
That worked. Thanks a ton for the tip!
