So I just got the new miui update, however I'm noticing left screen on time compared to miui 11, so I was wondering if it was worth it to switch to xiqomi.eu or miuimix , and whether itll have any significant impact on battery
Is anyone using either of the two roms could post some screenshots of screen on time that would be great

Hi guys,
I bought a MiPad a week ago. It came with Miui 7 (the stable and official version). I changed it to MIUISmoke (to get a rooted device, no lag on YouTube app, MIUI 8 interface,...). It has an incredible performances, but battery life is not was I expected (only 3 days and 3 hours of screen).
I'm looking for a ROM with a better battery life.
I only use my tablet for YouTube, web browsing and mails (no games!). I was thinking about xiaomi.eu (7.3) or CM 11 (more stable than 12 actually).
Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot!![emoji1]
I think the best rom would be the stable version.
Any other rom i tried had worst battery. Especially the AOSP/CM/Lineage roms.
I've tried MIUISmoke, BDITA, xiaomi.eu and the stable one. In my opinion the best is the stable and official version.
Thanks a lot!

You should definitely try the Lineage 13
You should try AOSP Extended
I read some comments that they used to get 8-9hrs of SOT, some said they could manage to get 10 or more hours on SOT, so ive been thinking on creating thread to get some info on what version of miui is the best for battery backup, ive used miui7 and yeah i got 8hrs of SOT back then, miui8 is pretty fast on battery drain, so can i have something on you guys? what version is good on battery backup?
I don't think there's a simple answer to your question. Everyone's use of the phone is different.
Playing games uses more battery than browsing or watching YouTube.
4G uses more battery than 3G.
3G uses more battery than WiFi.
Bad mobile signal uses more battery than good signal.
Setting the brightness higher uses more battery than setting it low.
Overclocking uses more battery than running at stock speed.
MIUI 8 uses more battery than MIUI 7.
So there is really no way to objectively compare SOT between users.
I never managed to empty the battery of my phone in one day, no matter what I was doing.
And as long as you come home in the evening and still have battery left, you shouldn't worry about other people's screen on times.
But do you even need to use MIUI? I have used both MIUI 7 and 8, for many months and I used to think that the user experience was pretty great till I installed an Android 7 rom here from XDA, Slim 7. Only then I understood what a great experience this phone can offer. I have been using Nitrogen OS for close to two months now, and not only does it have all the customization options I need, my phone is smooth as a flagship and I get 10-11 hours of screen on time regularly, with heavy use.
You could use a Marshmallow ROM if you really need a perfectly stable camera, but the camera works 9 out of 10 times anyway.
Custom ROMs are better in every way than MIUI.
Now im on miui7.5.30 battery back up is pretty good. I love aosp based rom but suddenly my fp breaks on NOs, dont know why, since then i get bootloop when i installed custom roms so i settled now in miui
I love aosp to but alarm dont work when turn off phone. And that is important to me.
I'm getting this phone tommorow and I'm wondering do I update to latest 10.2.3 firmware because I see people having problems with battery life and performance or do I stay on previous
if your phone comes with miui 9 and battery performance is your priority then dont go to miui 10 but if you want cosmetic changes, a bit smoother experience go for miui 10.
one more thing,my phone was much louder with miui 9 too.
If you update i suggest to use open beta as is more stable than stable
Hello fellow Pocophoniacs!! I am on MIUI EU rom now. Not any problems but I was wondering if there is any custom rom that can have the same or even better battery but that also has good camera. The same photo quality at least. Any to recommend?
Are you on the latest eu rom? How's the battery life?
I'm on 10.3.4
Battery is great. I have no problem. The only reason I want to change rom is to see other stuff and because I always had oneplus phones so I'm more of a Aosp style rom. But in less than 10 days I will need to have a stable phone with the best possible camera because we are expecting our baby girl to arrive. So I can't install any problematic roms now. That's why I'm not testing and I'm waiting for users to tell me.
What's the difference between MI EU rom vs MIUI global rom?
I was wondering the same thing. I used the Xiaomi.EU rom a few months back and the battery life wasn't so good, so i changed to LineageOS. The energy consumption in this ROM is very minimal, but it's also lacking features. I want to go back to Xiaomi.EU, but if the battery life hasn't gotten better it's not worth it.
So LineageOS has good battery. Good to know. How about the photo quality?

You can test the Gcam on MIUI, possibly, that will be the camera app you use in any custom ROM.
Mi Globe Rom
The best rom for Camera and battery. I have been on the latest Mi-Globe rom - Stable 10.3.4.0 (PEJMIXM) - for the past 1 week.
Awesome camera, great stability, light and excellent battery life. I get almost 6 hours SOT with about 25% remaining after 1 and a half days usage.
Additionally you may use Google camera port if you require more...

Hi, some curtana(redmi note 9s/9 pro(india)) phones received the MiUi 12.5 update, and since its possible to change from Global to EEA/India/whatever can you provide feedback on the user experience?
Is it stable?
Battery drain?
Dual sim working, Second Space?
Memory management?
What apps could you remove/disable?
Nothing special ram management is worst and its laggy when you try to use phone faster then normal and battery drain is screen on 7-8 hours
Like in miui 11 battery gives me screen on 12-16 hours
Hey,
a few years ago Cyangogenmod was my absolute favorite. But then I learned to love MIUI. With the latest 12.5 xiaomi eu insalled on miatoll you could also throw your phone into the bin. Absolutely slow, laggy and the best stuff for "anti Xiaomi" fans. I cannot understand how xiaomi could mess up their os that bad.
I am now on GSI. Best choise.
