Hey guys i know there are many forums that discuss this but do you really see a difference in battery life between the two? (60hz both) for me the battery life is the same...
I left mine on 1440p 90Hz since day one and I have never depleted the battery on my day to day use. Usually by the end of the day I have anywhere between 50% to 30% left before I plug it in to charge.
Battery life is great using 60 or 90 but mines set to auto using auto90 app. I use fhd to. I lose 7.63 percent a hour screen on currently.
Would say mines also on 7% per hour...
With Samsung Internet darkmode battery life is insane..

Battery life has been pretty great on my EVO 3D using juice defender and SetCPU.
Switched to Sprint for this thing yesterday and I gotta agree. Coming from an SGS I've learned to be paranoid about my battery life, so when I barely see the battery draining off this thing I have myself convinced that it HAS to be a bug lol
How is your awake time so low compared to your up time!!
How can I see what is keeping my phone awake.

Because in the time that the phone has actually been powered on, its only been in use 4 hours. If he had been really using it, the battery would be down more than it is, but its still good battery life.
I agree, of all the devices have had so far, HERO, EVO 4G, EPIC, 3D. the 3D (comparing all of them on stock) has had the best battery life of them all. Heck even my Rooted EPIC with SFR 1.1.1 didnt get quite as good battery life, and it was rooted.
you guys know that the 3d has a larger battery than all those phones listed right?
still has the best battery i've used.
Well you will get amazing battery life turning the display brightness down anyday though. Still i have to agree this phone has great battery life. On auto my biggest battery drainer is the display but still I can get through all day with the phone. I unplugged the phone yesterday at 6 in the morning and at 9 at night I still had 20% battery life and that is with medium usage.
you barely used it. i can get great standby time too. but once i have the screen on and turn data on or a game you drop something like 10 percent an hour.
in the past 53 minutes ive had my screen on for 17 minutes. lost 8 percent.
Up Time: 37:49:30
Awake Time: 05:17:50
Battery Remaining - 52%
Impressed with battery life thus far.
I think the battery life is even better at 1.5 GHz and stock voltage.
well you guys are lucky cause my battery life stinks. medium usage, brightness at 30% sync accounts knocked back , no 4g and im getting 4-5 hours out of this thing which I think is terrible. something is wrong. Anyone else experiencing the same ?
how much of the battery is listed as "display"? last week while i was working i would leave my phone in my truck and come check on it an hour later to notice a 30%+ drop in battery. it would die after only being unplugged for 5 hours. but then i realized my screen wasn't ever turning off so if i got a text, notification, etc. that turned my screen on, my battery got drained idling in my truck.
rebooting usually fixed it but i think it was one of the early temp roots that really was causing it because i don't think it happens anymore
under battery usage the display is 75% percent of drain the rest is voice calls
mine is stock, no root here
Wow thats crazy my phone has an up time of 87 hours and an awake time of 69, i still have 95% battery left.
I'm dominating all of you.
Or maybe those two numbers mean nothing besides how long the phone has been on, and not anything to do with battery

Battery life is awesome on this phone. I still think its too good to be true. When I turn off mobile data, I can easily go a whole weekend without charging my phone. And that's with sending and receiving over a thousand texts, taking random drunken pics and vids, and talking on the phone for long periods of time. I only turn on mobile data when I need to sync up for fb, email and such or look up stuff, and I've pretty much been charging my phone every other day, and sometimes on the 3rd day. This alone makes this phone priceless to me and I've never been so satisfied with a phone like I am now.

All and all battery life on this phone is average. It lasts the same 9-10 hours as every other android i've owned. I spend the same amount of time doing the same things day in day out.
The only android I've ever noticed an exception was the NS4G and it had crazy battery life, easily 20 hours.
I think its better to post time the display or voice calls was used rather than percentage.
I'm at about 13 hrs usage with about 2hrs and 50 minutes with the display on. Probably close to 20% battery left

It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the HTC U11 Life before depleting the battery.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
So I know this is probably atypical, but as I've been on my phone a lot today, I thought I'd check my SoT when I hit 15% battery. I'm coming from an old Nexus 5, so I'm probably more easily impressed, but my phone has been on battery for ~12 hours with an estimated 2 hours of life left and a whopping ~6 hours 24 minutes of SoT. This is a heavy usage day for me, and if this is my battery expectation on a heavy day, I will never have a SoT issue with this phone.

Me too come from Nexus 5 and can only agree. I was a little concerned about the smallish battery, but it looks like it will be enough for my usage.
Right now i have:
last full charge 14h 3m
screen usage since full charge 4h 17m
and i have 53% battery left
Does anyone else experience bad battery life with A11? Before I had 7-8 hour SoT a day, now it's barely 4-5 hour with the same apps and same usage... Should I change the battery? Where can I order good quality replacement battery?
Even I am getting 4 hrs of screen on time from 100-10% and 2-3hrs when playing playing games.
Phone heats up when calling /playing games/ charging near camera.
with android11 phone charges rapidly even with normal charger.
Battery life with different android version:-
Normal usageHeavy usageAndroid 914-15 hrs11-12 hrsAndroid 109-10 hrs6-7 hrsandroid 114-5 hrs2-3 hrs
The best I was able to achieve with android 11.
I'm not really satisfied with battery life of my less than two months old Realme GT 12/256 GB.
What is your average screen on time on this phone?
Mine would be in the 3.5-5 hours range in a day and a half, maybe more if I watch a movie or something.
I'm not playing games and only have Viber, WhatsApp, Facebook... usual stuff.
I didn't see any tanglible difference between "auto" and 60 Hz screen mode regarding battery life.
Also, what percentage of battery drain do you see overnight?
I'm on latest firmware, tried every possible battery saving combination, but always have at least 3% battery drain overnight (usually around 4% in 7-8 hours) and that with radio and all apps off and various battery saving settings applied (global and per app).
I'm starting to believe it's "normal" for this phone and its SD 888 chipset.
Thanks.
Same
I have very similar results as you. Battery life is just ok.
Current battery life:
from 93% to 28% in 1d 19h, SOT: 3h 15min.
Before this I had Poco F3 for a month or so and I don't recall exactly, but it was something like a 1%, 2% max. drain overnight with pretty much the same usage pattern.
Also I have Lenovo tablet with far weaker MTK CPU but not much bigger battery (5000 mAh and 10.3'' screen) and that one almost doesn't use battery in standby mode (beats all phones I had).
I'm currently disabling various apps and testing and I'll post here if I find out something useful.
Optimized standby - Ultra standby makes exactly no difference in my current setup so I turned it off completely.
Quick device connect is also turned off and not in use, as far as I can tell.
Hi everyone!
Hope you're enjoying your S23 Ultra as much as I am!
I wanted to see if people were charging their phones to 100%, or utilizing the battery protection bit and charging only to 85%?
I charge it only to 85% and don't let it drop below 25%, what about you?
Thanks!
I created a routine to charge to 85% during work days as I'm home and I don't really care about full battery and 100% during the weekend as I tend to go out and I'd want every juice of it
I charge it every night on my wireless charger and as far as I remember it hasn't dropped below 40% yet.
I charge to 85% and never go below 30%... Long lasting battery for minimum 4 y like my old 10+... after 4 y still 5h of SoT...
That's amazing, thank you both! I've been charging it once every day and a half really! But that's with about 3.5 hrs of SoT and over a day with screen off time

same. I do took care of my battery and my almost 6yo oneplus5 had 4h SOT on a 3300mAh battery (+/- 9-10h sot day1) and uptodate app and rom. I never used fast charging.
After 5 years lithium battery will naturally loose +/-20%.
Then add your use, heat, nb of charge/discharge, you can add an other +/-20% lost.
I was about to change the battery of my OP5 simply to see when this phone will be slow, but in the mean time I dont pay for my phones and a 6yo phone is not that bad.
Pretty sure Ive could get it to 8y and still using all googleplay app no issue.

I do the same.
I switched from a 5 and a half years old S8+ which battery ended dying on me just 2 weeks before the S23 Ultra was released. I had bad habits with the S8+, letting it go often below 20, charging it always at 100 and even using it while charging.
With the S23 Ultra i want to do it right from the start, so 85 max and not below 25. Fingers crossed it will last longer than S8+, and i'm liking it so much that if i manage to keep it in good conditions i might have a the battery changed in 4 ou 5 years instead of switching phone again.
you always can do routine to help. During the day I rarely need to charge, and night I might be around 40%, so not enough to start a day.
- IF hours between 9hpm and 5ham > THEN battery protect 85% AND Battery saver ON.
So plugged during night will never get over 85%, around 30 min before wake up, the phone will charge up to 100% . So it will most likely never be plugged in @ 100% for long period of time.
I set it to 85%. I would struggle to kill this thing in a single day so why not?
Keep in mind that setting it to 85% doesn't stop battery wear if you leave it on the charger as it will keep charging itself every time it falls under 85%.
