SM-F907B problems with firmware, MDM l - Samsung Galaxy Fold Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi. Hoping that this thread will be moved to the development section or wherever the mods consider appropriate as I can't post in the Development section.
I have an Samsung galaxy Fold 5G SM-F907B with the following issues: an MDM lock and an issue with the firmware currently installed.
The current installed firmware according to the recovery, I haven't been able to find it online. It's as if it doesn't exist. As a result I can't flash TWRP or anything on it. The firmware is: F907BXXU0ASH7.
Also the MDM lock doesn't let me reset the phone , flash with Odin or fully boot up the phone.
What could I do to get past this lock.
The attached pictures shows the issues.
The last picture show the lock screen that I get when booting up the phone. It's an app called Galaxy Keeper.

[Q] An app messed up build.prop, please help!

Hello!
I'm a newbie and I really need help with my bricked(?) phone. First a short intro to how the problem came to be:
I own an old (but I still love it) and extremely rare phone, the original Samsung Galaxy Beam (I8520).
There is no official update for it, so it is stuck on Android 2.1.
The thing I miss is Netflix, and Netflix officially only supports 2.2+, so I thought I could try to fool Netflix into running anyway by editing puild.prop.
But to be safe, I used an app called Device Spoofer. In this I could try different model infos by selecting different phones in a list.
I tried a couple and found one it would except. Then it required a reboot, I believe, and now my phone won't start up.
I get to the Samsung logo and then a Starhub carrier logo, as usual, and then the phone just turns black.
There is supposed to be a way to get into download mode by holding some buttons, but that doesn't work on my phone. I have read something about it being a bug on some Samsung models. But anyway, I have bought one of those usb sticks that puts the phone into download mode, and it works.
I have tried to use ADB, but it doesn't seem to find my phone. I also tried to flash a firmware to the phone, but that doesn't work either, Odin gets stuck at "SetupConnection..". The only firmware I have found online is one called I8520STHJI1.tar, which is the last firmware version made for the phone and the version that is factory installed on my phone.
The I8520STHJI1.tar contains the following files:
cache.rfs
modem.bin
ramdisk.img
SS_DL.dll
system.rfs
userdata.rfs
zImage.img
Is there anything that can be done?
Thank you!
After googling, it seems that I need a certain version Odin to be able to flash the i8520.
What I need is Multi Downloader v.1.7.3L
Does anybody have that?

[Q] EXTREME Galaxy S3 i535 Brick?!?

I was recently attempting to root my father's new Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3, when I encountered an extremely heart-dropping fail...
I have ran into an issue of being unable to enter ANY OS or ROM on the phone. I had a stock Android 4.4.4 ROM on the phone, which I rooted with no problem. I then attempted to install TWRP (I used TWRP Manager (Root)) in order to install SlimKat. However, at this point I encountered an error. I attempted to reboot the phone into recovery mode using the app, and encountered a screen saying "System software not authorized by Verizon Wireless has been found on your phone. Please turn off your phone and go to the nearest Verison Wireless store for help.". I get the same screen when trying to boot the phone without pressing any extra buttons. I also notice red words in the top-left corner of the screen saying "SECURE FAIL: KERNEL". The only other screen I can get to is the Odin Download Menu.
However, when I try to use Odin, I cannot get anything to flash to the phone except the PINs for the phone (it is an i535 Verison Galaxy S3). Anything else gives me an error, as shown in this image: www(dot)dropbox(dot)com/s/mc6srpy5vhpb9of/nand%20fail.bmp?dl=0
Basically, I am asking if anyone knows of a way to try to restore even just the stock ROM to the phone. As of right now, it is in an unusable condition and I would much prefer if I could fix my father's phone. I will try to give any new info as requested and I am willing to try almost anything to fix it.
P.S. I apologize for the URL issue :/ . I cannot post links yet xD

My apologies. I did not notice a secondary thread for my model, due the time at which I was posting. Is there a way to move this thread to the correct place or delete it from this forum? Also, is this the correct forum for me to be posting in: forum.xda-developers. com/galaxy-s3-verizon/help
Again, sorry about the URL inconvenience.

[Q] S6 Edge Bricked SM-G925I

So, I rooted my phone, went to ROM Manager and pressed...something (not sure what). My phone then rebooted automatically and said "Custom binary blocked by Reactivation Lock". I gather this is because I didn't click some option on my phone before it restarted.
So then I started looking for ROM's or anything to bring the phone back online. I downloaded Odin and tried installing a ROM and I get "Custom Binary(RECOVERY) Blocked By R/L"
So now, I'm trying to download the stock firmware but, the problem is...I have no clue which firmware to use. I don't have access to much on my phone other then what I can see on the back of the phone.
SM-G925I UD
My provider is GCI out of Alaska and my phone is unlocked from the store. Which firmware do I use because from what I've read, SM-G925I is an international version and I'm not sure which I should use.
One thing to note...I'm the worst nerd ever when it comes to this. Thank you so much for any help you guys can give.

I have same phone, same carrier, and after rooting I was messing with different options and ended up with the same error message. After several hours of searching, trying different methods without success, I found a video on youtube called, "Samsung Smart Switch for PC Flashing Firmware to Galaxy S6 Edge" and I was able to reflash the phone to the stock firmware using the emergency recovery option "Device Initialization". I had to put in the s/n of the phone, hopefully you still have it on a label somewhere. Anyway, after the restore, it was upgraded from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1. and the Carrier boot animation was gone. Now time to re-root!
Hopefully you find a successful solution to your issue, good luck!
I want root without the problems

I have the same phone with the same carrier; I live in Anchorage. I haven't done much tinkering yet because I don't want to break my phone, but if this works-- I would really like to be able to root my phone and upgrade it to Marshmallow when it becomes available. Can either (or both) of you confirm that this method did work for you to get the SM-G925I rooted and working again with GCI?
Thanks!

[/COLOR]here is the firmware for the s6 edge g925i that i could find on the firmware section ..http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G925I/
Just download samsung kies on your computer, put your phone in download mode and then do a emergency software recovery (can be found from some option on samsung kies)
Have any of you other Alaskans with GCI successfully loaded Marshmallow onto your G925I? I managed to root my S6 Edge successfully using CF-Autoroot but I am hesitant to try and flash another firmware from Chile, or Uruguay, or India etc onto the device because I'm worried about disabling the radio or other region specific settings that will cause my phone to lose connectivity. I have made a full backup using Flashfire and backed up other relevant data but I would rather know about others' experiences before I recreate the same problems that have already been done over and over again. None of the firmwares available on sammobile.com seem to match up with what I have now (I attached a picture of my current firmware).
Any help or experience is very much appreciated.
Nougat and Going Strong
I'm just providing an update since there aren't a lot of links to S6 Edge and GCI Alaska on XDA. Since this phone is starting to get a little older and I had been successfully running Marshmallow for a year or so I decided to push my luck and see if I could get Nougat running. I'm very happy to say that after a couple of failed attempts with some other versions not running well, I installed Samstock 7.0 using the install instructions on https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...unified-development/rom-samstock-rom-t3649798 and I am pleased to say that it is running very smoothly and I am happy that I did so. I had pretty awful battery life with it at first, but after installing Root Booster and setting the basic battery saving option I am back to 24 hours or so between recharges. I couldn't be happier that this device which shipped with Lollipop has been upgraded all the way to Nougat and is still going strong.

How to remove Samsung Retail Mode on S6 Edge Live Demo Unit (LDU) SM-G925X?

I bought a S6 Edge LDU (LRX22G.G925XXXU1AOC6_LLK) off ebay in hope of getting rid of the Samsung Retail Mode and using it as a wifi device. The retail mode is very annoying : it runs the demo by itself, reset phone to demo mode by itself. No matter what you do to the phone, like install apps, taking pictures, they will be wiped by this retail mode automatically. Plus, the phone can't be restarted nor powered off, and the entire Developer Options is greyed out (which means no USB debugging mode). Moreover, stock recovery can't wipe data/factory reset.
To remove the retail mode, I followed instructions that I can find on XDA, but it hasn't been successful so far. Here's what I have done.
1. I followed those instructions on how to disable Samsung Retail Mode with password 5444 or galaxy or any other password, but none works, even the menu in Samsung Retail Mode is different: There is no "“Configuration settings”, instead, there is "Store Settings" which asks for password.
2. I let the power runs out, then replug power and hold power/home/volume up to enter recovery mode. Wiped cache successfully . But when I tried to wipe data/factory reset, I got message that says:"MDM does not allow FactoryReset". This means factory reset on this device is locked by Samsung. Google shows demo unit from other models has this same issue and can be fixed by flash certain twrp. But it seems no twrp works on G925x yet.
Then I unplug the power to let power runs out, replug power and let the phone go into download mode, and Odin flashed
the tar file modified from G925FXXU1AOE3_G925FDBT1AODO_DBT.zip (with cm.bin and sboot.bin removed)
The flash succeeded, but the phone stuck at Samsung Logo page, it also seems the recovery mode is gone, only download mode is still available. I also Odin flashed tar file modified from T-mobile stock rom, same result. Stock 925F recovery doesn't work.
4. This soft-brick was later restored by flashing the stock recovery for SM-925X extracted from the stock firmware downloaded from a paid website.
link to the file:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3427316&d=1438623299
5. The search is still on for:
1) Password that can disable Samsung Retail Mode, allow factory reset, or
2) Method to wipe MDM or
3) Custom recovery that works on G925x.
I managed to download files claimed to be the official firmware for SM-G925X. Although Odin flashed failed, but it did restore the Current Binary from Custom to Samsung Official. There are three files in total with name:
BL_G925XXXU1AOC6_LLK_CL4260274_QB4268704_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5
CSC_PAP_G925XPAP1AOC6_LLK_CL4260274_QB4268704_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5
AP_G925XXXU1AOC6_LLK_CL4260274_QB4268704_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5 (this file failed Odin's md5 check)
I managed to restore stock recovery with the files I got and I was able to enter stock recovery mode. When I tried to wipe data/factory reset, I still got message that says:"MDM does not allow FactoryReset".

Hello
can u share those file with us.?
please share that website or files.
I went through this and through a series of trial and error with Odin and apps I got my SM-G925X Live Demo Unit wiped. Developer options are no longer greyed out. I can also do a full factory reset and it knows if there is a sim card in it, but no signal of course
First I installed cf-auto-root smg920f. The 925 version woundn't boot. Auto root was the only file that I could get Odin to install. I then installed root browser from play store and used it to go through all the folders and files and deleted whole folders and files that referenced retail, demo, or anything like that was manually deleted. At times the application would close and I would have to open root browser again and get back to where I left off. it eventually stopped closing at random as more of the demo folders and files were deleted. I eventually got it all deleted. No more retail demo software I still was not able to do a full factory reset due to MDM. I finally found a file today, that Odin would flash to the Phone AP_G925FXXU1AOCV_CL4497415_QB4506175_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5 This did the trick, MDM was no longer stopping me from doing a full factory reset and I now had access to developer options as well as the phone telling me there was no sim card in the tray
Hope this helps

Hey, I am having this same issue but my model is SM-G925A. Do you think I would have any issues following these steps? I think that I have an actual live unit with the demo installed. Would this possibly prevent me from using it as an actual phone that could make and receive phone calls?

If it's a full phone unit with retail demo installed then I don't see why it wouldn't work once you clear it out. Have you tried to flash with the AT&T firmware ?? As far as cf-autoroot goes I don't know because I dont have your particular devices firmware you can try the 925 autoroot and if it doesn't boot then just use the 920 and then start deleting the files manually .
Would you please share the file AP_G925FXXU1AOCV_CL4497415_QB4506175_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5 ?

Unfortunately I have parted with my S6 Edge LDU so that I don't have chance to test it, but I read someone else reported unsuccessful story using those files in another thread. I'm also not sure how come LDU can be fixed, especially the locked MDM (which prevents factory reset) can be override by flashing an stock AP file. From all my readings, the locked MDM can only be overrided by TWRP. Unfortunately I haven't seen a working TWRP for S6 or Edge LDU yet.

Guess there are different versions of ldu. Some can be unlocked with password 5444 and M729Q16K8546, others won't accept these passwords. Without factory reset unlocked, you will get a message telling you "MDM doesn't allow factory reset" if you try to do it through stock recovery.
Unlocking ldu involves two tasks, and people can mixed them up:
Task 1. stop/remove retail mode app.
This can be achieved by unlocking with password, root or flash a stock AP.
Task 2. Enable factory reset and unlock the ldu partition, otherwise some program auto run at boot to prepare ldu with or without retail mode app, blocks custom recovery, and cripples android system, etc.
I have seen this is achieved with TWRP on other phones.
If you achieved task 1 with password, then you have high chance achieving task 2.
If you achieved task1 with auto-root-cf, then factory reset is still locked, you will have trouble achieve task 2.
If you achieved task 2 then task 1 is out of the question.
Many may only achieve task1 with auto-root-cf and stuck at task 2.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (LTE) Bricked? Bootloop HELP

Hello, I am new here and I made a huge mistake!
I purchased Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (LTE) literarally 1-2 days ago and I wanted to root it, I had my smart phone rooted which did not have Knox protections, it was as straight forward as flashing TWRP and use Magisk via instructions I followed.
I make use of "Root" privileges a lot when using my device, I find it very important to my daily life so I decided to risk rooting it, after doing so my tablet was showing 2 errors, that its not using official samsung software and that the boot loader is unlocked, when I unlocked the boot loader using OEM Unlock everything went fine, the option was greyed out and checked afterwards.
During the boot process, it reboots 2 times and it shows a integrity error, integrity and some very long number, I am assuming its a integrity check? I have the exact matching firmware, so I flashed back the stock firmware and... the "not using official samsung software" warning disappeared, it boots me into recovery mode, I choose "reboot" and the device goes to boot looping with the same error.
I was following this tutorial: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s6-lite/how-to/howto-unlock-root-galaxy-tab-s6-lite-t4132289
But there are some things I skipped, here the exact steps I took:
Unlocking Boot Loader:
Followed all the steps from 1 to 4 but I skipped the 5th step entirely, the step where it asks you to mess with firmware date and twrp, I did none of that, I will mention that when I was looking for stock firmware to download before doing anything, I was not able to understand the CSC so I didn't know which firmware to exactly use until a software update came up which told me the exact firmware, I accepted the update and download that stock firmware, because my firmware was updated I didn't think that following the few steps of the step 5 would've done everything as I was already off the path.
I didn't do the 6th step as I just checked of the OEM Unlock is greyed out and still checked in the "developer options" section, I assumed that it was a success, not to mention the boot loader unlocked warning that was showing up and yes, all the data was erased and was forced to go through the setup process again as expected.
Root the tablet:
1. I have downloaded the firmware as it says not just for the purpose of rooting, the firmware that the software update told me about, this is the firmware I downloaded, the firmware is a exact match, everything is matching: https://samfrew.com/download/Galaxy__Tab__S6__Lite__-LTE-__/xs5l/SEB/P615XXU3BTI3/P615OXM3BTI3/
2. I follow all the steps from 2 to 11 from here.
3. When I reached step 12, I went to download mode and I look for any messages regarding it only allowing for official samsung images, but I saw no such message, didn't really pay attention to anything else, I just glossed over things, considering there was no such message I assumed that KG/RMM state was good, don't know what it was but it might not have been "prenormal" because there was no message regarding official samsung images, from here I falshed the boot.tar file like in the instructions, that lead me to my current problem I mentioned at the very start of this post.
4. There was no step 13 as I can't boot into android due to "integrity" error I have, right now I have my tablet turned off (thank god I can do that) via the recovery that shows up after flashing stock firmware.
Addition Info:
1. I don't have any data to lose, if I need to do a factory reset or something of that sort, I have no problems doing that.
2. As I mentioned at top, I do have a stock firmware downloaded from this link here: https://samfrew.com/download/Galaxy__Tab__S6__Lite__-LTE-__/xs5l/SEB/P615XXU3BTI3/P615OXM3BTI3/
3. The tablet is: SM-P615 (Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (LTE), I bought the LTE so I could use it as my phone)
4. At the download mode, the OEM (Boot Loader) state is set to NO and the FFS (I don't remember if its FFS exactly at the moment, something FF I believe, I don't want to turn on my tablet at the moment) was set to NO.
5. The KG (No RMM mention that I could see anywhere) state is showing up as "Checking..."
What do I need to do to fix my tablet? do I need to wait for 7 days? if so how do I do so, like does leaving my tablet off count or not?
PS: I am a self-thought experienced low-level windows programmer, I've been doing programming for over 10 years now, never have worked with Android development but I can attempt to build something from source if necesarry, I know very little about Linux OS as I purely work with Windows and use Windows for everything including servers.
I have done some research regarding that "integrity" error and I can't find any screenshot in google images that matches how it looks on my screen, but there are a lot of them quite similar to it, which basically says "verification failed, factory data reset your phone", in my case I don't have that message, it just says "integrity", but when the boot looping stops and shows that failure I do have 3 options, "try again" and "Factory data reset" and the 3th one I don't remember, I am suspecting that this could be my problem! I believe the samsung just changed the way that particular message is shown (visual change), so I just need a factory data reset and it will work, most likely with the rooted boot.img file! I will attempt this after a few hours of this reply, I may have panicked too early.
The issue has been fixed
Well this is surprising, I was about to do the factory reset but before doing so I decided to flash the same magisk patched boot.img file, when I flashed I saw seeing those 2 warning messages as expected, I was expecting for it to fail after 2 boot loops so I can do the factory reset as intended but on the 3th boot loop the tablet booted up! I was brought at the android setup screen, once I was done with that I checked the OEM Unlock, it was still checked and greyed out, downloaded Magisk Manager and to my surprised it worked! Magisk Root latest version is installed and working, it asked me to allow magisk do some "additional setup", the tablet booted up perfectly fine after that "additional setup", I check root privileges using "Root Checker" and it worked, I have root privileges! I most likely have panicked too soon, sorry for wasting your time! Hopefully this post will be useful to someone in the future looking to root their tablet.
My assumption of what happened: When I flashed the stock firmware AP a second time so I can turn off my tablet, it most likely did a factory reset without me knowing, so when I flashed magisk again before letting it try boot up again, the tablet booted perfectly fine because factory reset has already occured, which brought me to the android setup screen.
