Because you probably never had stock on both slots. Flash stock to both slots then follow the flashing instructions from the OP.
I have the same problem as the person above.
Flashed latest factory image.
After following the instructions in "If you have a device that does not use TWRP", stock is still booting.
But the kernel shows unicorn, although the rest of the OS looks awfully alike stock, so I think it is stock.. A ROM feature list would be great..

And could you please explain how we flash it to both slots?
Edit; got it working now
- Removed the -w in flash-all (not sure if it was necesarry)
- Runned flash-all while on b
- Then fastboot --set-active a
- Runned flash-all while on a
Then followed the instructions, and it worked.

Boom. Good job!
Sorry for the tough love, but nobody learns anything by just being fed answers.
Is there any way install the vanilla Google sans font/any other additional font to the theme engine without rooting? Or does this need to come from you.
Thanks.

It's already included in DU.
There is a version of it yes, but it isn't exactly the same. It's a bit bolder than the original. As to the second part of the question, is there any way to add fonts myself?

Unfortunately not. You would have to download our source and compile your own builds with modifications to frameworks/base, packages/apps/DU-Themes, and vendor/themes.
Yo this rom slaps. Any plans of intergrating wireguard in the kernel?

Nope ! I did a full wipe and after installing the Rom and the pico gapp I rebooted the device. Got a message "upgrading android" and after 3 of ... it strated to reboot again and again. I let it reboot for 21 times till I decided to kill it and put back V2 of your ROM
Unless this ROM includes the CM12 firmware upgrade, maybe you should link it to them as an one-time upgrade as long as they stay on CM12 based ROMs.
EDIT: yep it boots up well with the cm12 firmware upgrade by martin_ro.

A few notes before you proceed:
Before going straight to the downloading, there’s something we would like to tell you. We have changed the default encryption method for the phone, migrating to File-Based Encryption (you can get more information from the official Google documentation page). In order to get this encryption mode working, you will need to use our custom recovery (compiled from the latest source) which is compatible with this encryption and, just for the first time, you will have to wipe your internal data, so backup your data before proceeding.
Installation Instructions:
Grab our recovery and install it.
Through TWRP Recovery:
Install Zip > Install Image > Choose ‘recovery.img‘ > Select partition ‘Recovery’ > Swipe to confirm flash
Through Fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Install the ROM and then wipe your internal data partition.
Through TWRP Recovery:
Wipe > Format data
Through Fastboot:
Code:
fastboot -w
Reboot into system and wait until the process finishes, it could take a little bit. After the installation is done, I suggest waiting before using the phone because it usually goes into thermal throttling after installing a ROM.

Installed it with no issues and so far so good. It's a complete rom, has everything i need even gray scale reading mode. Didn't notice any battery drain for now, but still i always enable agrressive sleep and standby. Will give any further thoughts after i used it for a while. The onyl thing is that the simple gapps do not work on this rom, had to use open gapps.

Oke so my review in short. The rom is as most roms just fine. For my usage i have no bugs to report. The only slight potential donwside might be that the battery life was not as good as on pixy or superior os, but its not far behind. However this might be due to, I've used a lot more lte with this rom than on those since I'm back to work form vacation, and second that my battery might be giving me slight signs it'll need a replacement soon. So take the battery thing with a grain of salt, try it your self first and compare.

Hi, thanks for the ROM, runs great from the short time I had on it (forgot to get gapps package) when I got opengapps 9.0 stock it said that the ROM needed opengapps for 8.1, same with Pico, pretty confusing. Any help would be great
Gapps issue
I even tried Simple Gapps, thinking maybe they would work. Will try 8.1, but it definitely won't use 9.0 gapps. BTW, I downloaded the nano gapps. Other than that, this rom is absolutely beautiful. It is fast, and it is just a very good-looking rom. So, I hope you keep working on this. I can't say enough about how quick it is. So, thanks, and I hope the gapp thing can be worked out. Okay, what ended up working was ARM 8.1 gapps. NOT arm 64. Not sure why or how. Just FYI. Thanks.
I shall be trying this ROM out soon. I have to flash gapps 9.0 arm 64?

Thanks for porting to flame, you would thinks that XL and normal versions would be the same aside form the scren, however official DU support is non-existent.
Anyway props to to you for bringing us one of the best custom roms out there.

Official support does not exist because no DU team membe' has the Pixel 4. DU only supports devices owned by the team because it is a ROM that focuses on quality, and testing on-device is key.
Yes, the two devices are nearly identical and ROMs could theoretically be swapped, but subtle differences like screen and power configs are sufficient reasons to avoid that. Since I personally own a Pixel 4 and I've been building since the start of DU 14 personally, I see no reason to not share what I do with the community. I do test every release, but maybe not as extensively as the DU team because I rely on their great work. As long as I own this device, I will continue to build DU for it.
Thanks buddy that's awesome news.
You could always try and apply for DU team and be the offial maintainer for this device?
Just a thought

I didn't and everything worked fine . That's probably if you're coming from another ROM that has different settings
How to disable Always On Display?! It's the biggest battery drain.
Installed in the morning, everythings fine so far...
One question, in the download folder there´s a magisk image.
Flash via sideload to get magisk and root?
Have a nice Weekend...

Yeah, I forgot about it since I don't actually own an sdcard. Maybe in R I'll add support for it if I still continue Lake. The user base is very very small, so not sure if the juice is worth the squeeze.

Does this exFAT problem cause the sdcard to be emptied? Or is the sdcard not accessed?

It should be fine on other filesystem formats like ext4. Like I said before though, I don't actually own an sdcard so I would've never caught this ahead of release and no further work is being done here for Q.

Use those other ROM's if they have everything that you need.
Are you suggesting not to install and use your rom? Why?

I'm not suggesting anything. I'm just telling that guy to use another project if that project has everything that he needs.
I, nor anyone, in DU will ever try to "sell" DU. Use it if you wish, if not -- that's cool too.
advice:
there are developers who label the rom as stable ok,but there comes a time when the user tries it and finds its error or bugs and is disappointed,
And I wasn't asking for this rom either, I'm just a free time tester.
if a developer or a user asks me: you can test me, I simply say yes of course
and I already quoted to talk about this topic and we made clear the issue, that you have good day

As an actual developer, we (developers vs. users) have two very different definitions of "stable" -- I come from a line of devices (Pixel) that do not use sdcards and so for the past ~6-7 years, I have not used one. Personally, I don't see the value in them. I understand that you require it and that's fine, but that doesn't just magically make the work at hand "unstable" because you can't use an exFAT formatted sdcard.
Furthermore, as I originally said -- it's a small oversight. Let's not make this into a bigger thing than it really is. It's just an sdcard, after all.

I love this DU rom...so clean I was to access sd card only from stock file manager which is usable... and yes I had to move my media off external to internal which isnt that big of a deal so my apps could access...... I'm sure a future update will be ready with the access our device has steamed rolled on Roms and updates and if you have been around custom Roms for awhile that means they are pushing through for ANDROID 11 builds....Which will start dropping in the next two three months possibly... I remember how it was with the Kitkat through Nouget years and how crazy it was for devices to get updates and actual development.... Thats when i started learning researching and READING past forums on hints and tricks....We are spoiled now...with monthly updates...

I for one would love for you to continue with Lake on R.
I followed the instructions for installing and at the end twrp didnt detect an os installed on neither slot. I could only boot to the du recovery.
Hi, great rom for daily use. I have a only question, how can I disabled the charging notification led? I cant fin any option about it. Thanks in advance!

Niceeeeee!!! I have been waiting too long for this <3
Awesome! Thanks alot for this! Couple of questions before flashing. Does it include stock google camera? Does it retain unlimited photos storage and also is it possible to flash over stock without losing all data? I know the last isn't recommended, but would be nice.

1. The camera included is one provided by cstark. It is a modded version of Google Camera which includes features from later Pixels, but should still hold the original features.
2. Yes, you can still upload unlimited photos in original quality.
3. Unfortunately, it is not possible to directly flash PixelExperience over stock. In fact, 11 requires a full device repartition. It's easy as flashing a .zip file before the ROM to do so.
If you have any more queries, make sure to let me know!

Hey dude! (or dudette), would you please walk me throught the installation process? I'm a noob on flashing custom roms, and i'm facing some difficulties flashing this rom. I downloaded the repartition zip form the link, and I'm flashing it throught twrp recovery and then the rom zip file but it gets stuck on a bootloop. What am I missing? (Please forgive any misspellings, I'm also a noob at english)
Flashing both the regular and plus versions doesn't seem to work for me. They both get to 35%, then I get:
28 (ErrorCode::kDownloadOperationExecutionError)
Error in /sideload/package.zip (status 1)
Great great work! Will surely be trying this at the first available free time!

Hi. Are you able to download Google Camera from playstore and does it work fine?
Is selinux enforced? Tks
Going through Pixelexperience site, came across two versions for Pixel XL- Stable android 11 and Stable Android 11 (plus edition).
What's the difference between the two? Apologies if this is common knowledge, but this is the first time for me using Pixelexperience.

I have solved the issue, this is what i have done:
- Boot into twrp from fastboot, using the latest twrp 3.5.0
- Advanced Wipe (system, dalvik, data), change active slot and then repeat (just to be sure)
- adb sideload the repartitioning zip
- Format data (where you type 'yes') then reboot into twrp
- (From Kartik Billimoria on Telegram)Push rom zip file to /sdcard via adb push command then flashed the rom
- Change to inactive slot (the slot you flashed the rom), reboot to fastboot to make sure the active slot has changed (for me it has not), if not change it by 'fastboot set_active a' (or b). Reboot.

It will not work via TWRP recovery.
1. Kindly go on the downloads page and install the PE recovery.
Code:
fastboot flash boot recovery.img
(It may bootloop once or twice, but then it will show up in PE recovery)
2. Go into Apply update via ADB.
Code:
adb sideload repartition-ogpixel-**gb.zip
3. Factory Reset/Wipe Data.
4. Apply update via ADB and sideload the ROM.
Code:
adb sideload PixelExperience-**.zip
5. Reboot and wait patiently.
Hope this helps.

PixelExperience Plus Edition provides extra tweaks that you can apply.
One that comes to mind is further customization to the notifcation bar to include network stats.
If you're up for extra customization from ROMs like LineageOS, consider flashing Plus instead.

By default, the ROM includes Google Camera PX by cstark27, which is more up to date than the stock (marlin/sailfish) Google Camera app. It includes newer features such as Portrait mode and Timelapse.
However, from the Google Play Store, you are still free to install the stock one.
As for SELinux, yes. It is enforced.
For stable releases from PixelExperience, it is required that builds are on Enforcing.

No need for this last part. If on TWRP, after flashing the ROM, you just need to reboot back to recovery and it will automatically set to the inactive slot.
