Hello!
Just before Christmas my Mate 10 Pro received the EMUI 9 update. I enjoy using gestures on my phone, but they don't work with 3rd party launchers.
When I swipe up to go home the recent apps menu appears for a couple of seconds and after that it goes home.
Tried using the stock launcher but is feels so outdated and boring.
Is there a way to make gestures work with 3rd party launchers?
I use Nova Launcher Prime and Gesture Control Pro for as many gesture points I want. I also use Macrodroid to create macros that my gestures can call. All these work on unrooted phones. Of course, device actions that need root cannot be called.
With Nova Launcher, one can even create actions for each icon swipe, and enlarge icons for these old eyes.

I'm doing the same. Both apps works great!
Is that possible to install stock pixel 3 launcher pie (the one without n'avons buttons)?
Hi Hanks,
Did you try to Google for once? Just search up pixel 3 launcher pie you will find plenty of them. Non modded and modded etc etc..
Really? The same with the gesture pill like on pixel? Without Root?

We have gesture. Launcher doesn't change the navigation bar.
Right.
Didn't see this option.
Is there any cc9 launcher apk files for mi a3?
Nova launcher pro, everytime on every phone ? Swipe up gesture to turn screen off, swipe down to show notifications. Widgets can overlap and resize freely. Has app drawer. I am not aware of other launcher with these (and many more) features.

You lose pie/Android 10 recents with Nova though.
For Android 9 I use Hyperion launcher
For Android 10 I use paphonb quickstep port (or lawnchair v2 early Android 10 release which is pretty buggy but usable)

I wasn't even aware that recent menu has changed with Pie. Just tried it and to be honest, I prefer the Nova recent menu. But maybe I'll give a chance to and try some other launcher with system recent menu support.

You will also need quickswitch magisk module to enable the recents view on custom launchers that support it

Nova settings -> app drawer -> gestures -> swipe to open/close. You can remove app drawer icon then. It's pretty close to the stock launcher behavior. Or, Nova settings -> home screen -> new apps -> add icons to home screen. Then you don't need to use app drawer at all, all new app icons will be on your home screen after installation (you will need to add existing apps manually though).
Nova since 4ever.
Swipe up for drawer, drawer have one page and everything in folders, double tap to turn off, swipe down for notifications , counter clockwise for settings.

Still like I said above you will lose the Android 9/10 recents view on launchers that don't support it. Nova being one of them
I'm a huge fan of Nova. It's the best launcher for Android ever made. But recently I've switched to Hyperion. It's really awesome. I really like the blur effect a lot. Immersive mode, gestures, screen lock-everything is there. It's the second best launcher imo.
I'll probably switch back to Nova eventually.
Another launcher I really like is Lean launcher. Super lightweight, super snappy launcher with not many customization options. Has Google feed & screen lock with double tap though. Allows you to hide apps & change the icon for individual apps.

Just wondering, what's so good on stock recent apps menu? I use it only to switch between apps. The omnipresent Google search bar irritates me, can it be disabled?

Just how fluid it is being able to open the app drawer from the recents menu by just swiping up on the dock and the way it fits with the gestures of Android 10 now aswel it's just way better in my opinion. But it is completely up to the person and what they prefer themselves. I can't tell you it's the best coz each to their own.
Also thats pixel launcher that has Google search. Aosp quickstep launcher does not have Google search in dock

I see, thanks for the explanation. So you basically like features which I prefer not to be present. Nova launcher with "old" recent menu seems to be the better choice for me. Anyway, going to try Hyperion, it sounds nice I'll give a chance to the quickswitch Magisk module too, maybe it'll grow on me.
Mine is Niagara, best simplistic launcher, best one handed launcher ive ever used.

I suppose you mean recen apps, because recent in general is the same.
+1 for Niagara and Lines icon pack.

Ya and the way you can access the app drawer by simply swiping up on the dock. It just all fits seamlessly with the new gestures
Is there any way we can enable Android 10's gestures on a custom launcher?
I'm using lawnchair right now and I don't want to switch to the default Quickstep launcher.
I tried Action launcher as it supports them but couldn't make it work.
After installing any other launcher system reports the launcher doesn't support the gestures!
Please help me out here!
Thanks.
i think nope.
the apps itself need to update and support the android 10 gestures. im using nova launcher prime and it did not support the gestures.
need to use quicksteo for a while i think.
If you use quickswitch magisk module and lawnchair q pre alpha you will have gesture support. Lawnchair q pre alpha is available from there telegram release channel and quickswitch can be found in the magisk repo
Take a look at Fluid Navigation Gestures.
I Received Android 11 update miui 12.2.5 and since then Navigation gestures are no longer working on third party launchers like Nova. gestures are only working on System Launcher. Is there any way to use navigation gestures on Nova?

Sadly no and MIUI 12.5 also does NOT fix that
Same here since yesterday.
I use Fluid NG and work fine now.
I saw somewhere on the list of miui bugs, that this is intended behavior, and gestures will work only with default launcher....
Sorry for bumping,
Will the work if you have default system launcher but install Poco launcher?
I have done that on my mi10t lite on Android 11 MIUI but gestures do not work.
Also when I am using Poco launcher and when I switch my phone on my icons do not show for around 10 seconds is the Poco launcher from the playstore bugged or something?
It works fine on my Poco X3 NFC but it may be due to it being the default launcher on that phone

I've a mi 10t lite. I've tried a few solutions to this. You can create a very pixel like gesture bar using these gesture apps in the playstore
- X home bar
- Control gestures (so far this feels best and closest to Google experience)
But there are lots of third party apps that will give you gestures. Try a few and see what works for you.
- Download the gesture app of choice
- Set it up as you like
- Switch to gestures in settings/home screen
- Choose to hide the indicator
And you're back to swiping.
If anyone recommend another pixel like nav bar app, lemme know
