instant 50% battery charging jump

I found my Atrix totally discharged this morning, you know this situation, it does not start even plugged to AC charger. I switched my sim card into my spare phone. after ~15 min of waiting my Atrix did start and battery stat. showed 0%. at 12% (ater ~30 min) I shut down the phone via menu (long press power button -> shut down) and when big charging battery picture appears on the screen charging status was 60% ! same 60% I found when I boot the phone into OS (CM7). so I'm curious what caused that 50% jump in charging status and I'm not sure now when I'm at 100% is it 100% or just 50% ????????
Flash juggernaut's battery fix and then calibrate the battery to take care of that.

Xperia P battery level jumps high from low.

I have a Sony Xperia P. Few days ago i changed my old battery to a new one, after that my battery level jumps high dramatically . If i remove the charger when the battery level at 49% and after like 10 minutes it automatically jumps high (90%). Every time this is happening and i did root, repair the software and factory reset the phone and problem is same. Anyone faced the same or have any idea about this issue?
I'm pretty sure this is gonna be pretty quick end of your battery. I don't really know anything about its lifespan, but I have pretty similar problem sometimes.
My idea? Try to discharge your battery to its flat end. Even try to turn discharged phone again and again - until it won't turn on again. Then plug your charger and charge your phone to full once it being turned off. When LED will turn green and battery indicator will show it is full - just power on the phone with charger still plugged in. Let it settle, then reboot. (charger still plugged...). See if anything changed. Try to discharge and charge battery in various ways - once slower, once faster. This will give some more info about your battery life.
Btw. is this battery Sony genuine?
Short answer: Your battery is dying, get a new one.

[Q] phone suddenly shuts down, battery voltage drops at 50% battery level

Hello everyone, I'm new here on XDA, so i hope this is in the right place. I have a problem with an old i9100 that i recently got as a gift.
The phone was given to me without battery, so i bought one and immediatly installed Lineage 14.1 nightly (latest build, 13th dec). Then i started to notice that the phone would go off and the battery would drain to 0% unexpectedly. The phone works fine until the battery reaches a level of about 50%. Then the phone suddenly shuts down (sometimes i was able to see the screen flicker right before it happened). So i got the battery replaced, however the simptoms remain.
After regularly checking /sys/class/power_supply/battery/current_voltage i found out that the battery is mostly stable on 3.7-3.9v for an hour and a half until the 60%-50% threshold is passed in the battery indicator on the status bar. Then it rapidly drops the voltage down to 3.4/3.3v in a couple of minutes, where the phone shuts off. I have already tried to clear the cache and reset the battery stats through rootEssentials.
I was unable to find something meaningful in catlog's output. The moment of shutdown is around 22:13 and next boot is 14:19 (i left the phone with the battery off during the night). The log suddenly stops and starts again as if nothing had happened.
is it possible that i got two faulty batteries, is it a software problem or should i be taking it to a repair shop?
Thank you in advance for your help!

How to reset battery stats on S9+

Hi
I would like to reset the battery stats on my S9+ because I have seen it live drop istantly from 14% to 4% , I'm not rooted but I have seen this procedure here:
Method 1
Discharge your phone fully until it turns itself off.
Turn it on again and let it turn itself off.
Plug your phone into a charger and, without turning it on, let it charge until the on-screen or LED indicator says 100 percent.
Unplug your charger.
Turn your phone on. It's likely that the battery indicator won't say 100 percent, so plug the charger back in (leave your phone on) and continue charging until it says 100 percent on-screen as well.
Unplug your phone and restart it. If it doesn't say 100 percent, plug the charger back in until it says 100 percent on screen.
Repeat this cycle until it says 100 percent (or as close as you think it's going to get) when you start it up without it being plugged in.
Now, let your battery discharge all the way down to 0 percent and let your phone turn off again.
Fully charge the battery one more time without interruption and you should have reset the Android system's battery percentage.
I have found this procedure here: https://www.androidpit.com/how-to-calibrate-the-battery-on-your-android-device
Is there anyone who can tell me if this is any good?
Thanks.
no, change the battery.
