Hi guys,
I've read that from Android Pie unlocking bootloader doesn't break DRM keys. Is it true?
Otherwise, how can backup DRM keys on Android 10 device and restore them?
Thank you!

this thread is also linked in my FAQ, but since people are still asking, it is a good thing to post it a second time
Oh, but i didn't see any guides on the general forum. so its better to link it here. so people wont go around the mountain to find this.

Thanks
Just for people who are very lazy/don't want to read through a VERY long guide, there is a shortened guide by pollob666 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1256969
Thumbs up to pollob666 for shortening my guide.

i can't update my unit via pc companion because is unlocked, so i need to re-lock now i know ajehe
sir thank you
Your Phone is rooted :S
You have a rooted phone, done through offcial sony bootloader unlock website, because of this sony knows, ur imei and thus if you will try to install official updates from companion, it will show you a error, and so i suggest you to download the latest 4.0.3 from other sources and flash it on ur phone using CWM!

General - Question & Answer section is not a place where everyone can open a new thread with the own question. It is needed to search before, read the sticky threads, read the wikis, read and read once again, and post in an existing thread, if necessary. Repetitive topics will be deleted/closed without previous notice. Topics like 'urgent help' or 'do I brick my phone?' and so will be deleted/closed. Infractions issued to reiterative members. Remember XDA-Developers.com is about development. Thanks for your cooperation. Best regards,
Not sure where to place this thread, considering that there's just a xperia S questions forum and not for the U.
Back to subject I'd like to ask some questions:
how can i debrand the xperia U?
How to root it?
I'm asking this cause i've been unable to locate any other thread about it, and any help would be helpful.
thanks

did you read what i post? seriously I don't like ppl who always say "use the search forum", if a person can't find something it's bcause the search criterias are different from the ones stored on the database.
Well i dont know about debranding but rooting can only be done with unlocked bootloader and custom kernel.
You will be able to find tutorial thru search
Hi guys.
I wonder if we backup all the partitions + TA area before unlocking the bootloader, test and play with the phone and then at some point flash it all back to phone - will the phone be again locked and with the DRM keys?
I mean if not to use the official Sony unlocking site
1. No, not (so easy) as you think.
2. And if so, shouldn't be the bootloader+keys+2nd bootloader+ta+nvs enough?
3. But,..... why should one that?
Destroy DRM and don't be part of it. Free your fone, use OpenSource and DRM free Media.
Take some risk - man or kiddy?!

3 - I don't want to follow rules I don't want to unlock my bootloader using sony website.
I have a phone and i can return it within 14 days, but if i unlock bootloader via sony - i will not be able to give it back, in case if i don't like the phone - that's why.

Let me decide it
Please move it back, because the question is to Developers, and it does not belong to the place where people ask how to charge their phones..
no hes right
this is a question, yes its for devs but its a question, the dev forum is for the release and support of dev tools

That means all the questions from the dev section must be moved here. I want to see it!
Today.
Not even one topic in development section is question based all are the custom roms or anything produced by developers
Sent from my ST25i using xda premium
Regarding your question, I have made a full backup (all partitions - around 4 GB!) of my previous phone using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1374511&highlight=backup
It might give you some ideas
Well our phones are not so "unprotected" as Huawei ones are.
Sent from my ST25i using xda app-developers app
I unlocked my bootloader but before that i did a complete backup using titanium backup
and once the bootloader was unlocked i could still use the sont drm protected softwares like the TrackID
soo i guess this serves the purpose
Like the Title said I want to know if this device:
Sony Xperia Z
Model: C6603
Android version: 4.3
Build-Number: 10.4.1.B.0.101
bootloader unlock allowed no
Is this thing rootable?
If it is rootable is there any Guide to root it? ( if possible please a link? )
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/development/guide-how-to-root-101-firmware-lb-t2656698
There's a whole forum for your phone there. If you have time, do some reading. There are lots of cool things to do. If you plan on modding your phone more than just rooting it, you should get familiar with how to use the Flash Tool. There's a Sticky in the Development forum for your phone about it.
