nokia 7 plus's google camera on nokia 8 - Nokia 8 Themes, Apps, and Mods

try this:

I think that it is the best camera app for our nokia 8, it works without any bug.

It's just an old GCam mod, which by default supports many devices. No need for a separate thread for it.

Judging by what you're saying it shows, you are compatible, Android Wear is compatible with 4.3 and above. However if your phone only has Bluetooth 3.0 support and not 4.0LE you'll see some battery drain outside the normal amount specified by both users of the device and the manufacturer. This is because 4.0LE maintains a link with the device without actively being connected to it causing it to use less power to communicate, 3.0 lacks this ability so your phone would need to keep an active link with the watch at all times.
That being said, don't let that discourage you from getting it, your phone is completely compatible as it is now and should give you an alright experience with the device. I personally love my LG G Watch and feel that it's the best purchase I've made in a long time.

MirrorShare major bug, Android 7 and Samsung smart TV

Hello, when projecting anything from my phone to Samsung Smart TV, only the upper half of the screen is rendered correctly. The lower half is scrambled/green , pixelated and full of artifacts, no matter the phone is in portrait or landscape.
My Smart TV is flawless with Mate 7, Samsung Tab S 10.5 or Asus Zenfone 6 when using Mirror Share.
Previously on Marshmallow 6.0 MirrorShare worked without problems with my Huawei P9plus .
On my friend's Huawei P9plus, identical with mine and with similar Samsung smart TV, the problem is absolutely the same.
Huawei, please fix this major problem as soon as possible.
My phone : VIE-L09C432B360, unrooted.
Have you found a solution to this? Mine does the same and I can't find a similar topic anywhere else. It's very annoying as worked perfectly before
I hope Huawei read this forum and make things working properly. Don't try to mess your phone/root/reset , at least I don't. If Huawei want to be number three, two or the best brand in smartphone industry they must read and solve customers complaints. Sadly, every brand have some (major) flaws, for me Huawei is the best compromise. Until...
PS: I had a problem with mirror sharing (Huawei Mate 7, veeery slow speed, almost unusable ) in the past but it was resolved after the last update and now it works okay .
Huawei, please do your homework properly to be number one !
Easy come, easy go and upset clients sometimes don't come back.
Mine is VIE-L29C636B370 currently.
Tried on my Samsung (Smart)TV for MirrorShare feature and does not seem to have issues.
There's around half second to one second delay in pushing the display to the TV though. "Seemingly" slower than before update (because I never really measured the time previously).
Then is a bug for single sim international version VIE-L09C432B360. Before Nougat, on Marshmallow my P9plus mirror share function was without issues(I used it frequently) . Now I have to use my Samsung Tab S 10.5 tablet for mirror sharing so please Huawei do your homework and respect your clients, I paid 700 Euros last year in July for your product.
After last update to android 7 my mirrorShare feature is casting the screen to a samsung tv with half of the screen is totally green . Before the update everything was working fine.
I search the case and found many people asking the same question with no answers yet. Any Help ?
Sadly after yesterday's update to B370 (from B360) mirror share is the same, flawed with half screen bug.
Huawei, please fix this major problem, please !
+1
Discover the same bug in my p9 B386

Any resolution guyz ?
Huawei don't care about us. Probably this is my last new, full price Huawei "flagship" smartphone.
Same problem on an Honor 8 with Android 7
+1 P9 B386
I wonder if this problem exist on P10/plus, Mate 9 or other newer Huawei phones.
Updated to B376 today (OTA) but the bug still here.
Probably my next phone will be another brand, Sony Xperia or...
I've got a P9 and a Mediapad M3 and only shows to top of the screen as well while connecting to Samsung tv. A Galaxy Tab3 doesn't have this problem.
Same problem with my huawei P9, running B391 firmware!

same prob in vie-l29c185b390 march
well done huawei ...................................................
I thought I was the only one with this kind of issue. It's really annoying because I always use mirrorsharing! I went back to were I bought it since I thought that the problem was the unit. They changed it with a brand new phone but the mirroshare still won't work!

Before buying, few questions about Redmi Note 5 (EU version or global) 3GB version.

To whomever hold the stock version (will not root) of latest firmware I have few questions, before buying Redmi Note 5 (please include screenshots):
1. What are the options for camera and manual (pro camera if exists) camera? Resolution list for both photos and video and every available option in settings, on actual camera menu (portrait, regular mode, video mode...etc.) for both cameras (back and front).
2. Can you change themes (like Huawei has)?
3. How loud is the speaker and quality? (Both earpiece and loud speaker).
4. Does notification led work on every app? (FB messenger, Skype, Viber)
5. FM radio and IR blaster (remote control) how does it look?
6. How good is the WiFi and network (cellular) reception?
7. How fast is fingerprint unlock?
I'm buying it for my wife, to replace her Galaxy S4...finally, to suprise her. Salaries in Serbia are crap, but I managed to save some money.
Thanks in advance.

I'm running MIUI 10 on Redmi 5 Plus (64gb, 4gb ram, global version).
Redmi Note 5 is definitely worth the upgrade if your wife owns galaxy s4. You would surprise your lady in your life.
1) the stock camera app in MIUI has some interesting features. She'll like it.
2) themes are very much customizable.
3) sound quailty is much better than galaxy s4.
4) led light always works (depends on settings).
5) I don't use fm radio/ir blaster.
6) the phone communicates well without any noticeable loss.
7) the back fingerprint scanner unlocks fast. It's just awkward to use with short fingers.
One more point to note that you will get a free phone case and 5v*2a charger. And obviously you will continue to use your wired earbuds. Thanks to 3.5mm audio jack. Your wife won't like large/bulky wireless earbuds.

I have the global 3/32 version with latest miui, no root.
1) Camera is "fine", it's not a camera phone, I suggest you watch one of the many reviews on youtube.
2) You can change themes but not in all countries, you'll have to change country setting to have it work. I don't use the function, I like miui as it is out of the box.
3) Both good
4) It does, I don't use the apps you specifically requested but for whatsapp, twitter, reddit etc it does.
5)FM radio works with earphones plugged in (the serve as an antenna); I use the Ir blaster A LOT for work reasons and the pre installed app has a list of codes but it's mainly chinese stuff, I use Anymote for TVs mainly.
6)I guess it depends on the service provider coverage in your area but I noticed that my note5 has way better reception than my p8 lite 2017, and it shows on battery life, when I have low reception on my p8 the battery drains faster, this does not happen on the redmi.
7)Really, really fast.
Also, battery life (for how I use it at least) it's awesome. I can effertlessy achieve 6 hours SOT with a charge.
Thanks for the info. But, can you provide me with some screenshots of some of the items I had questions for. Especially for camera.
Yes, I found some reviews but it was from firmware long ago. I need to see if they changed something for manual mode on camera.

I recommend Redmi Note 7 or some other device like Mi A2 which are same price/higher a little depends but they give better quality If you don't use gcam instead of Redmi 5.
1) Stock is pretty decent nothing to be proud of and the manual mode is pretty meh... you can record in 4k 30fps which is better than 1080p and you can use EIS but It'll crop and only works at 1080p which is meh there is portrait mode for the front camera which is also meh and edge detection depends on the lighting there is no portrait mode for rear camera aka back camera. GCAM greatly improves the quality on front and back camera It's way sharper, less noise/at all and for video recording well that's not that good but there are manual cameras on Google Play Store which I use and they're perfect with some post processing It's very good. Also GCAM unlocks Portrait Mode for Rear Camera and It works great... I mean If you want to take pictures that r serious then use GCAM but If you want ok pictures just for memory then use stock. However If you buy the Redmi 5 Pro version It has portrait mode in the rear/back camera.
2) Yes themes are ok but last time I checked you can't apply 3rd party themes which is extremely annoying from Xiaomi but maybe It's changed now but I can't help you cause I use HavocOS but they can change alot and even better If you use substratum along.
3) They're pretty ok/loud but Viper4Android greatly improves that but requires root.
5) FM Radio works not sure how It's on stock cuz I use Pie but It works and IR Blaster works too you can download the Mi Remote app even on Pie to use it. (U need to have headphonoes plugged for me)
6) It's good for me 4g but not 4g+ or something like 5g lol and Wifi is good.
7) Fingerprint is fast even on custom roms It's good.
Thanks, but I do not want to root it. Even my Honor 7 isn't rooted, has no bloatware, but I use crc apps which work fine.
Mi A2 has stock Android (Android One) which I do not like, due to call/message/contact app and some other things and note 7 hasn't arrived yet in my country and I'm afraid when it comes, it will be 250 Euros.

I think the only way is to root your phone.

2020: Best Smartphone for GCam?

Hi everyone, I'm sorry if I'm posting under the "Android General" section, but I think that my thread deserves a "general" discussion.
I've been following GCam's portings since the beginning and I've also used them on several devices like: Nokia 8, Nokia 8.1, Nokia 6.1 and LG G6 thanks to their Hardware Level Support set to Level3 (maximum). The question, now, is the following: in your opinion, which will be the best smartphone to run the upcoming ports from Google Pixel 4 new camera? I mean, it is no secret that the latest device from Google will include a triple-lens setup, so it's pretty obvious to think of a phone that has, at least, a wide and a tele-photo lens.
Thanks for moving my thread to the right section.
I'm scared I haven't explained pretty well what I was asking. I'll try that again.
Assuming that Google Pixel 4 will be having a triple-lens set up (tele, normal and wide), which will be the smartphone that will produce images as close as possibile to the Pixel after installing a Google Camera Port? It's pretty obvious that we have to look at a smartphone with a triple-lens set up too and with Camera 2 API enabled by default. On top of that it would also be ideal to have a Snapdragon 845/855/855+ at least and photographic sensor made by Sony (which very likely Google Pixel 4 is supposed to have).
Trying to do an analogy with Google Pixel 2, we can easily assume that one of the best smartphone to install a Camera Port was the Nokia 7 Plus, not only for having AndroidOne, Camera 2 API enabled but also for the same Sony IMX362 Exmor RS (sensor).
Up
Very interested also. I have a Pocophone, and runs gcam 6 quite well, but not perfect. From seeing it barely running on a Redmi Note 7, I assume it seem a top of the line processor and lots of RAM.
Which phone would be the best nowdays? K20?
Up, that would be nice to have a list of the top 10 Gcam smartphones 2020.

Xiaomi Mi Box 3 (Global) on android 9 + Xiaomi 7.1 Gaming Headphone via USB = OK?

I didnt find any more sites that I can ask this question and after about two weeks of consistently researching about my situation, I figured I ask some help from you guys.
I have a Xiaomi Mi Box 3 Global Version which I purchased from Aliexpress in 2018.
It was on Android Oreo 8.1 but I updated it to Android Pie 9.0 recently this year.
I have been using my trusted headphone by Meizu. Model is Meizu HD50 which I bought in 2016. it has served me well.
I am now looking to buy a new headphone to use as I watch Movies from time to time at home.
I recently found a 7.1 Xiaomi Gaming headphone which I am inclined to buy but just before I proceed with the purchase I would like to ask for some advice and opinion from others whether it is a good call to purchase it for movie purposes.
From what I gathered from my previous research is that the headphone must be plugged to a computer to use the 7.1 paired with the xiaomi software for PC to use the 7.1.
Im thinking could I connect the headphone directly to the xiaomi mi box USB port and watch 7.1 / 5.1 videos and have the passthrough feature of the KODI player?
Regarding the Kodi, I found from my searches that since the Android pie update, kodi lost the passthrough support. Is this true?
To anyone who has experience regarding my situation please share your opinions.
Xiaomi Mi box 3 Global Version on Android 9 ---> Xiaomi Gaming Headphone 7.1 plugged to the USB hub connected to the Mi Box --> play videos with 5.1/7.1 Audio using Kodi Player with Passthrough enabled = raw 7.1 Sound from video?????
Any response will be appreciated as I am aiming for Xiaomi Gaming Headphone 7.1 if audio works
if not, I will go for Meizu HD60 which is Hi-Res audio and bluetooth ready with Aptx support.
Thank you
