5.1.1: finetune battery thermal shutdown value - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Consider an Android (5.1.1) phone with battery removed and powered by external power. The external power replaces the battery, so the phone thinks it still has its original battery.
This works fine 100%, but I have an issue. The phone can get direct sunshine and on hot summer days it usually shuts down due to thermal alarm of battery.
Here is the Logcat:

Now, of course high temperature is wrong for battery, but this particular case the phone has no battery at all.
(How) is it possible to increase the battery thermal alarm value? Based on my measurements it seems firing around 65 °C. I would raise it a bit, to 75 or maybe 85 °C, but not more.

[Q] HELP : Htc Desire - Wifi Data Connection problems

Hi to all,
I have some trouble with my htc desire and wifi.
I surfed a long but didnt find how to fix it.
My configuration :
Htc Desire : AMOLED
S-OFF
HBOOT : 6.97.1002
Table : CM7r2
Radio : 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23
Kernel : 2.6.35.14-snq-111011
Build : 3.14.405.1
Rom : Revolution v1.5 Data++
I can see wifi signal clearly and powerfully but it seems that packages wont arrive to my phone. Tried with router and a desire-hd-hotspot.
If i go on a webpage is like i am not connected (same for meteo update or any internet stuff) - but good signal and "connected" in any case
Some suggestions ?
I have putted in an output filetext the result of dmesg to see what's wrong with WLAN

I hope it will help to figure out what's happening
Maybe kernel is not working correctly ?
I did all format wipe ecc. before install all the new roms (cyano and revolution)
Any ideas ?
EDIT :
Fixed in this way :
Recovery -> wipe all : data dalvik cache sd ecc. -> reflash again the rom
If the brush into the other relatively new re-Radio would be more improve? Or use other ROM try it?

What folder for WIFI Tethering?

My WIFI Tethering stopped working on my 2.3.3 stock and rooted Samsung Galaxy S2. I believe the culprit to be that SD Maid had deleted a file it thought was unnecessary or a duplicate. And since I have my wife's identical S2, I should be able to restore the files missing but have no idea what file and/or folder.
PS - 3rd party tethering apps don't work either.
Thanks.
Nobody? Really?
SD Maid dev here.
If it was a file you deleted through the duplicate finder, you should have one copy left.
But the duplicate finder does not look in system folders and one would think that WIFI tethering related files would be stored in a system folder.
That leaves us with app cleaner, system cleaner and corpse finder.
- removing caches is nothing that would cause this to fail, so the app cleaner is out
- unless the wifi tethering has some really f'up file type and naming practices, it would not have been touched by the system cleaner either
- this leaves us with the corpse finder, if the wifi tethering app ( is it even an app?) does not follow naming rules, its settings folder could have been deleted.
But i don't think this happened either and it should be no problem for the settings to get recreated.
I think it is highly unlikely that this has been caused by SD Maid (unless you manually deleted a file with the explorer, and in that case ... ;p)
There are a few thousand SGS2 users using SD Maid (according to Google) and i have not had any reports regarding this.
Guessing is always bad, lets approach this differently.
How exactly does the WIFI tethering fail?
Can you upload an android system log of the tethering process failing?
If you are still convinced that this is caused by a deleted file, you could generate a list of all files on your device and your wifes and compare them.
The lists would be huge but that can be narrowed down alot to specific folders (/system, /data, etc.)
I recommend getting a log first though.
Thanks for the reply!
The reason I suspect it was this app that was the culprit is because I'm confident (or at least was) that it's the only new app I've ran since it stopped working. I also ran Optimize DBs if that would have any effect.
Here's the log from alogcat filtered with "tether".

Hm nah Optimize DBs is really safe as it starts sqlite with the command VACUUM on the databases. SQLite itself then makes sure that the db consitency is kept.
Nothing that really stands out in the error log.
Though this seems weird:
First it says pdp0 is not a tetherable iface, ignoring
Then it still tries to tether with it? notifying tethered with iface =pdp0
Switches to notifying tethered with iface =null
and back to notifying tethered with iface =pdp0
There is also that number what=4 that keeps changing.
Unfortunately i have not found any information on the meaning of those messages yet.

Moto x4 XT1900-1 not entering fastboot

I recently purchased a refurbished Moto X4, which shipped to me as a hard brick a month ago.
The device would not vibrate, or enter fastboot mode for a recovery option when holding down power + volume down.
After downloading the Motorolla USB drivers, I was finally getting windows to chime when the device was being plugged in. Windows did *not* recognize the device as a Qualcomm USB device. It would just chime, and nothing would show up in device manager showing a USB device. Just a chime.
Through some miracle, running a blankflash.bat file while holding down the fastboot buttons, after installing ADB eventually got me to a fastboot menu, from which I could restore the phone to factory settings and use it.
That worked for about a month.
Now the phone is hard bricked again, with the same symptoms as before (No fastboot; no recognized Qualcomm USB device), and now blankflash gives me the following errors when I try to use it to get me to fastboot:

Has anyone else experienced this? Or can anyone explain to me what tools to use and what they do? I am very new to this unbricking process.

XT1941-4 (DEEN) stuck on fastboot

Hello, my XT1941-4 got stuck on fastboot. Model is showing only zeros (0000000000), IMEI as well. (see pictures)
Fastboot flash doesn't work maybe because bootloader is LOCKED. Tried to boot it into EDL via test point and blank flash it. Does anyone have any experience with this?
