I brought a secondhand RED (Verizon version) on second hand market Xianyu闲鱼 ( Like eBay or mercari メルカリ) , less than USD100.
Then I updated the RED Hydrogen One to android 9 via fastboot and found dual sim in settings.
But merchantmen has told me it was a single sim version, and the dual sim version is more expensive (over USD 200) because is rare.
I cut my SIM card and let it fit to the second slot (used to settle TFcard) , then it recognized as a SIM card and can get signal, just like a DSDS one.
The hypothesis is , every RED Hydrogen One has the same motherboard, no matter you are aluminum version or titanium version, no matter sim free or carrier limited.
I won’t use Chinese because I don’t wanna shock greedy merchants , they import this mobile phone in same price , but sold them differently.
I will upload the dual sim android 9 ROM later. And how to install? Just refer posts written by other people posted on XDA.
By the way, root this phone can be more easier, just get its boot.img and transfer to your phone, let your magisk manager to patch it, then swap it as a boot to your phone.

A problem : this ROM doesn’t support VoLTE of China telecom. Even though it shows VoLTE enabled. You will lost your internet connection while calling , voice will on 1xRTT instead of LTE.

It also has few languages in settings, for example, traditional Chinese only for Taiwan, no Hong Kong .

I Have a Globle Build
I have a global build on my Red. Its work with Dual Sim. LTE works perfectly with only issue it doesn't save any Call logs. Except this the phone works on all front.

Thank you so much. data reset is a common situation.
Does your fingerprint scanner work after this firmware? I have not tested it yet, but I have a second phone with two working sims and it has problems with the fingerprint scanner. judging by the locked bootloader, I have a rare international version.

Greetings. Finally, the version for verizon has arrived. i will try to flash 9 android. The question arose, is it useful for a modified boot for rutting?
Can I flash the image right away? and I see two executables, could you please indicate which one you were flashing?
flash_a2h_windows.bat
flash_a2h_keep_userdata_windows.bat
I have a suspicion that one is doing a complete cleaning, and the second is flashing the image without cleaning.
thank

Flashed today the Android 9 Firmware on this thread on Verizon Hydrogen One and it's working perfect.
Finally Android 9 and finally debranded, plus the dual sim support (which i have not tested).
The steps i've followed are:
-Enable debugging options and then, OEM Unlock.
-Reboot to Fastboot (with power and vol -) and unlock bootloader with "fastboot flashing unlock" , confirm with power and vol buttons on the phone, then let it reboot and unlock again "fastboot flashing unlock_critical".
-Flash the firmware with "flash_a2h_windows.bat" it will take about 10-15m depending your pc. Also notice that i have installed adb and fastboot system-wide.
-In my case, once it finished flashing, the phone turned off, so i turned on and let it boot.
-Because i dont need magisk or root, in fastboot mode i relocked the bootloader with "fastboot flashing lock" and once rebooted "fastboot flashing lock_critical", both times confirming with power and vol buttons on the phone to relock bootloader.
Tested 4V functions, speakers, calls, sms, 4G, nfc, bt transfer and audio and pretty much all the sensors and everything seems to work fine.
PS: My backup from Google Drive didn't work for me because somehow this firmware changes some kind of hardware id and it's recognized by Google Services as a different phone.

Also curious what other ROMs pleaple tested and can confirm as fully working.
It would be nice to have a rooted dualSIM phone

Thank you all who contributed, shared in the thread.
AT&T is now dual sim! So far no problems noted, but will report if any.

Ok, I think I lost root - I know I had it for sure in Android 8.1, but after upgrading to Android 9 I don't have it.
Any ideas how to get root again please?

[Q] Help with new Lumia 800 (developer model?)

I bought a used Lumia 800 last night. The OS version on it is "8107.WM7_Main_ship(mojobld).20111207-2014"
I can't seem to find much info on it, but from what I gather, this is a developer model? Can this phone be updated to the latest OS version? My phone tells me it's already on the latest OS but this can't be true!
Other info:
Firmware: 1600.2473.7720.11400
Hardware revision: 112.1402.2.2
Radio software: 1.6.00.24
Radio hardware: 8255
Bootloader: 7.35.0.0
The OS on the retail Lumias is easily interchangable. You can flash a chinese carrier tango variant on a french or whataver handset and it should work just fine. And then you can flash back to an old mango rom.
Well at least as long as you have hw: 112.1402.2.4 like me. Yours seems to come from an older batch.
(Zune will almost always tell you that you are up to date, don't mind it).
Please take out your sim tray and check your phone's product code. It should be something like for example 059N064.

The product code is 059L8X9 (Type RM-801). Does it matter that my hardware revision is the older one (112.1402.2.2)? Can I still flash other versions of Tango on it?
I ran NCS and it couldn't find my product code or any software updates. I couldn't refurbish it.
Edit: Apparently Zune DID find an update for my phone :S...updating it now! I just got home from work so I haven't got a chance to use Zune until now. Lets see what this does...
Edit2: The update failed . I got an error code 80180048. I really want to update this thing cause the battery drain on it is nuts! Plus, I can't live with knowing there's an updated OS out there that my device should have but can't...any thoughts on updating?

NCS will only look for updates for you product code, just like Zune.
The trick is to force a refurbish with a different variant ROM.
What I would try to do is:
- download the 1750.805.8773.1220 "Nokia 800 RM-801 Everything Everywhere UK GB Matt Black GV (059Q201)" ROM using NaviFirm
- Put the downloaded files in "C:\ProgramData\Nokia\Packages\Products\RM-801"
- replace 059Q201 with 059L8X9 in names of the three files that contain the PC
- Start NCS and put it in offline mode
- Connect your phone and click refurbish.
(If you installed NCS correctly, it should detect your phone and show its basic info. The phone has to be plugged in after starting NCS)
Now while this went perfectly smooth on my 059N1R with 112.1402.2.4 hardware, I can't guarantee it will work fine on your phone. I suspect it may work, but Nokia doesn't suport it simply because they didn't bother to test the new firmware with older hardware.

Is the phone easily recoverable if things don't go smoothly? I made a backup using the WP7 Easy Backup Tool...but I'm still too scared to update the phone with anything haha...
I tried following the instructions for the Windows Support Tool (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2530409) but upon holding the camera button I'm taken to a "SEARAY System Load Menu" instead of the screen with the picture of the phone and computer. The menu is loaded with some pretty scary looking options lol.

The word on the street is that dead Lumia phones are easy to resurrect using the Recovery option in NCS.
But a "SeaRay options menu"? Seem you've got yourself some pretty old device there, sir.
I guess it's one of those with the older Qualcomm bootloaders, which let you use custom ROMs. If you flash with newer official ROM using NCS it will not break your phone but only upgrade the bootloader to the newer locked Nokia DLOAD version.

In my opinion going with the official software would be safer.
Anyways, I like the look of the Everything Everywhere Tango ROM. It supports a helllot of display languages, internet sharing is unlocked, doesn't have any carrier bs installed, the only Nokia apps preinstalled are Drive, Maps and Contact Transfer, and among them only Drive is pinned to the start screen by default, the rest is just pure WP 7.5.

I think I'll follow your advice and go with the official software. I feel like I've had my fill of custom ROMs with my last 3 Android devices.
Before I attempt this though, what is this I hear about "cabs"? Is that just a packaged and ready to go version of what is out on NaviFirm+?

CABs are Zune update packages and are nothing like the complete ROMs found on NaviFirm.
CABs are like Windows MSU files, while ROMs are like WIMs or VHDs.
In fact, WP CABs are distributed through Windows Update servers just like Windows updates.
Similarly as with Windows on the PC, the updates take longer that a clean install and the process may fail. And it's even harder on the phone, since deploying too many or too litlle CABs can make your phone unupgradable.
Although the cabsender method is fine for really minor upgrades like pushing the firmware only from 12070 to 12072 to fix the volume bug. It may also be used for adding additional display languages.
I am using the Everything Everwhere ROM and I can confirm it has no branding apart from the carrier being listed here:

Why is the software part of about screen showing Windows Phone 7.5 and why not 7.8 ????
Why would it show 7.8?
Would putting the everything everywhere update on my Lumia void the warranty? I found that if you use the PS tool you can download the firmwares direct from there which is always handy.. Im just reluctant to flash the phone in case it messes with the warranty??

I wouldn't worry about it too much, you could always download your native firmware and re-flash it if necessary.

What hardware are you running? Does it happen to be the same as mine?
Poked around a bit more and I realized my phone has apps that let me mess with the registry etc. (QC BSP Services). It also has a bunch of apps that start with "z" and seem to have access to root things in the phone (zBig Boss Settings, zCompass, zDebugMenu, zSensorView, zStart KITL). Does anyone know what these are for? Does this indicate there is a custom ROM on my phone?
My phone is a later hardware revision than yours. It definitely sounds like you have a custom firmware on there. You should be able to install the ROM I have just the same though.

Ohhh, i see.
This phone is nuts. I just want to restore it to stock firmware but I'm kind of scared that it might somehow brick the phone. Although...it's now stuck on the NOKIA logo and won't boot up...earlier the phone was stuck in airplane mode. I haven't even tried flashing anything on it yet!
Edit: I did a reset with the vol down + power keys, got back into the phone but it's still stuck in airplane mode! Changing the toggle doesn't do anything...it stays in airplane mode. The wifi is on too and when I toggle the slider, it just switches itself back on after a couple of seconds. WTF?!
Has anyone had their phone get stuck in airplane mode?
Chynkinese, i would do a flash with Tango and Nokia Care Suite.

Huawei p20 lite is not supporting volte. Can someone guide me how to enable it?

I recently bought huawei p20lite/nova 3e from middle east. I am from India and i have inserted jio sim in phone. As phone needs volte supports for jio sim to work,I can't make calls but able to use Internet. Can someone guide me how to enable volte?
Same here
Same with me don't know what to do and not getting any support from the manufacturer
---------- Post added at 11:32 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:17 AM ----------
As far as I know there is volte supported in p20 lite/nova 3e
P20 Lite supports VoLTE and VoWiFi, but your Service Provider also needs to support and enable it for particular phone model.
Called the service provider but they said imported phones does not support the jio network please go to Huawei service center
is there any way to flash Indian firmware to Middle East P20 Lite?

Does flashing Indian firmware will work
Iam also facing the same problem. Bought nova 3e from K. S. A, but p20 lite indian varients are coming with volte feature i guess. So there must be way for the other country phones also right?
i have an European ANE-LX1 C432 and No Problems with VOLTE and VoWifi . The Feature is only available in Settings, if the Service Provider supports it , otherwise you dont see the Option.
Flashing another Firmware maybe show the VoLTE Settings , but it don´t mean that this have to work
Working VOLTE depends on many Things:
1. The Service Provider have to activate VOLTE for your Sim
2. Older Sim Cards are not supported
3. Huawei Firmware needs VOLTE Information integrated for your Service Provider (CSC)
4. Right APN Settings
I have to Sim Cards in my P20 Lite , One Sim supports VOLTE an VoWifi , the other does not.
If you have magisk installed, you may try flashing the VoLTE module from magisk, and confirm. One has to take the least pain for getting VoLTE with this method. If this doesn't work, you might have to try downloading and installing firmwares for other countries and test one by one. So far the Indian variant stock ROM is found nowhere as Huawei provides no support for Indian Variant except for OTP updates. Indian variant of P20 lite has currently no support anywhere.
https://www.getdroidtips.com/huawei-p20-pro-stock-firmware/
For the people asking for firmware
Finally made it possible. I buyied Huawei nova 3e (p20 lite) from UAE .
I spent almost 5 hrs for making this possible. I checked here some other sites for enabling this Volte in this mobile. I will update steps for enabling this. I will never buy mobile from Huawei again. waisted this much time for this even after spending money.
Thanks for h3lp guyz.. U have to spend money for boot unlocker - DC unlocker . This is only way to get unlocker code
Enabling Volte in p20 lite (Nova3e). (Successful done) jio working perfectly
Use this method to unlock the bootloader
1. Use the second method - DC unlocker. I think the huawei website is not giving away any codes from now onwards. Failed I tried it one time.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p20-lite/how-to/unlock-methods-to-unlobootloader-t3794725
2. Before trying the DC unlocker please make sure you have installed hisuite and all the drivers of huawei
3. After installating the DC unlocker(dc-unlocker2client_1.00.1403) in your PC. As explained in the post by wisper please make sure you are changing it to manufacture mode.
4. Enable oem unlocking and usb debugging before using the dc unlocker
5. After doing all the above please proceed to get the unlock code from DC unlocker code. If everything is right it will detect our mobile make sure you are installing the latest version of dc unlocker (dc-unlocker2client_1.00.1403 )
select huawei modem from the list and click on autodetect
it will detect and show hisilicon processor or something
Next you have to buy the credit from the DC unlocker website you have to spend 4 eur.
They give you password and username which you have to create.
You have to put this user name and password and click on login in
Then click on unlocking tab in the DC unlocker software
Click on read bootloader code and it will give you the unlock code which you have to save and keep it with you.
Unlocking the boot loader using this code
Please use this video for the unlocking of boot loader - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvCgLoYyasA
Follow the steps in the video once he got boot unlocker code. You will have the adb and fast boot in the DC unlocker rar file itself. No need to download separately.
Check your serial number is showing once you use the fast boot devices command which is shown in the video. It confirms you are in the right track. During boot unlocking you will get prompt to allow boot unlocking select the option using volume control and power button.
Note : I faced some difficulty in going to the fast boot mode. You have to go to fast boot mode before doing the commands. For going to fast boot mode please turn off the mobile and remove the usb connection from mobile. Then reconnect the usb again and immediately hold volume down and power button together it will go the fast boot mode it will show frb unlock and locked something in that window.
Once boot loader is unlocked. Your mobile will reboot to normal mode.
The mobile will reboot after and it will show phone is untrusted blah blah,
Next go for the rooting . All this I have done without any backup. Thats was the riskest part in this.
Please use this link for rooting which I have done successfully - https://www.getdroidtips.com/root-huawei-p20-lite/
Again go to the fast boot mode follow the same steps I mention above.
And perform the same steps in the website.

Next install Magisk manager - https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
After installing it and download magisk app using the manager from the download option. And proceed with the installation it will show magisk patch found blah blah during the installation.
And you will get notification to reboot and your mobile is now rooted.
Now to enable VOlte
Install ES explorer and then go to root explorer in it. You will get prompt to allow root access since you have rooted your mobile.

This method works on my both C55 and C432 firmware.
But my service provider says my P20 Lite doesn't support VoLTE.
I found an İphone 7 and put my SIM Card in it. After that I called my service provider and told them to have my VoLTE enabled.
Took my SIM Card out of the İphone and put back it my P20 Lite in.
Now my P20 Lite shows VoLTE near the signal bar. I'm now able to call via VoLTE.

How To Guide Bootloader Unlock devices bought directly from USA OnePlus Store

I saw the other thread on unlocking the T-Mobile variant, so I thought I'd document my experience unlocking the version bought directly from the OnePlus store.
WarningsThis guide applies exclusively to OnePlus Nord N200 5G phones bought from the USA OnePlus online store.
It may work for other carrier-unlocked Nord N200 5G phones. However, I haven't tested them.
As always, this voids your warranty.
Your warranty is now void.
I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about this process before following it. YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will not help you.

In addition, this adds an unremovable warning screen from the bootup process. After unlocking your device, the device will show a warning screen on every bootup for 5 seconds. It will read as follows:
The boot loader is unlocked and software integrity cannot be guaranteed. Any data stored on the device may be available to attackers. Do not store any sensitive data on the device.
Visit this link on another device:

PRESS POWER KEY TO PAUSE BOOT

As a last note, if successful, this will wipe your device. Backup all data you care about.
Prerequisites1. A OnePlus Nord N200 5G bought from the USA OnePlus store, running OxygenOS 11.
2. A computer with the `fastboot` android platform tool set up and working.
You can download a package containing fastboot from https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools.
3. A usb-C cable to plug the phone into the computer.
Steps1. Enable developer settings.
Go to Settings -> About phone. Tap "Build number" 5 times until it brings up a prompt to enter your device password. Enter it.
On success, it will bring up a note saying "You are now a developer!"
2. Enable OEM Unlocking
Go to Settings -> System -> Developer Options. Tap "OEM Unlocking" and follow prompts.
3. Reboot into fastboot
Long-press the power button, then select "Restart". As the phone is restarting, hold down the volume down and volume up buttons.
The phone should now be showing a text interface. You can select different options with the volume buttons, and use the power button to select.
3. Unlock using fastboot
Connect the phone to the computer.
In a command prompt on the computer, use the following fastboot command:
Bash:
fastboot devices
Verify that your device is connected, and the serial code matches the "SERIAL NUMBER" shown on the screen of the phone. For instance, my device shows as:
Code:
$ fastboot devices
SERIAL_NUMBER_REDACTED fastboot
And on my phone screen, it shows "SERIAL NUMBER - SERIAL_NUMBER_REDACTED".
Once you've verified this, use the following command to unlock the device:
Reminder: THIS COMMAND WIPES YOUR DATA. All data on the phone will be erased by this.
Bash:
fastboot oem unlock
If successful, the computer will output this:
Code:
$ fastboot oem unlock
OKAY [ 0.042s]
Finished. Total time: 0.042s
On the phone, you will see a prompt for unlocking the device. Read it, and follow the instructions. Use the volume up/down buttons as up/down arrow keys, and the power button as "OK" or "Enter".
After you've confirmed you want to unlock the device, your phone will reboot several times, and erase all data. Once it's done, you'll be rebooted into the operating system.
4. Confirm the unlock worked
To confirm the unlock worked, reboot into fastboot mode again.
On the screen, the bottom row should now read "DEVICE STATE - unlocked".
Congrats! You've unlocked your device. Once someone builds a custom recovery or ROM, you'll be able to use fastboot to flash it to your device.
So does this mean you can now pull the files someone would need to start on a custom recovery and/or a custom rom or at least majisk?

Unfortunately, this doesn't let you pull any files from the device. All it does is allow you to flash a custom recovery, ROM, or boot.img once someone develops one.
With that said, I have started researching steps for porting TWRP to the device.
Edit: since this is the only place I've mentioned it, might as well give an update. I'm giving up on porting TWRP for now - I think we really will need binary blobs, or a lot more hacking on things and finding a similar device. And given that our device is the first wave of devices with the sm4350 platform.... I think our best bet is OnePlus releasing binary blobs.
I've taken notes on everything I've been trying at https://github.com/daboross/android_device_oneplus_holi_notes, if anyone's interested.
Man that stinks. I was hoping we could have at least gotten the files needed for majisk.
2 alternate ways to get into fastboot mode:
ADB:
The command
'adb reboot bootloader'
will restart the device in fastboot mode.
Advanced Reboot:
In the developer options, turn on 'Advanced Reboot'.
Hold the power button for a few seconds to bring up the power off/restart dialog.
At the top right corner will be 3 dots, tap them, select 'bootloader' from the resulting dialog.
The phone will reboot into fastboot mode.

I'm thinking it'll be a chain reaction as soon as we have *anything*.
Like, if we get magisk, we'll quickly be able to then pull the stock ROM and recovery and use those to build TWRP.
Or if someone can build TWRP, we can use that to pull boot.img and get magisk working, and pull the stock ROM and get a custom ROM built.
Or if someone can port a custom rom (though I imagine this is harder than the above two - probably impossible without binary blobs?) - we can include root in it, then use that to grab boot.img and the recovery image.
As soon as we get *any* control which gives us root access or otherwise unimpeded access, we should be able to do everything.

I think the thread has been deleted now, but someone did do that for the Metro variant. I believe there was also a grab for the T-Mobile variant.
Unfortunately, both of those OTA updates were partial updates, and are useless without an original ROM image. I've also been watching for an update to my OnePlus non-carrier-variant, but no updates have been pushed at all.
I think it's not a bad idea. Just unfortunately all the updates so far have been partial, and since a new version of android is a ways away, I think they will continue to be partial updates, still useless.

There have been so few updates since the device was released a little over a month ago. No OxygenOS 10 firmware ever existed for it.
Is the N200 directly bought from oneplus dual sim?
It seems like the device has the space/pins for second sim but disables dual sim via software.
Check on youtube for "N200 teardown" and the motherboard likely has space/pins for second sim.
BTW: does the unlocked version of N200 have FM radio? Can you install app "NextRadio" and see if it works?
GSMArena lists the N200 as dual sim with FM radio.

I'm not sure if it's dual sim or not, but it doesn't look designed to be. There's only one IMEI listed in settings, and while the SIM tray is long enough for two different SIM cards, the second one is filled in with plastic and you'd have to modify it to put a SIM card there.
Here's a picture of the front and back of the SIM tray:

Maybe like the t-mobile version of oneplus 6T, we just need to replace the sim card tray and flash compatible firmware to enable dual sim function.
Even with one IMEI, both sim cards can still work simultaneously like the T-Mobile oneplus 6T. People have reported two sims work on t-mobile simultaneously or on two different carriers on t-mobile oneplus 6T with one imei.

I'm surprised the radio app doesn't work. There is a default package installed with a radio app, and the original phone (A91?) comes with an fm radio.
Can someone explain if they really switched the camera modules? I can't find any info on what the specific camera module is, plus the a54 (oppo) has a 48 mp camera versus the 13 mp in the n200. It seems like they really wouldn't switch the cameras on a phone so similiar, but who am I?

How To Guide Tutorial: How to Update, Unlock bootloader and Root your CN with Global Rom phone

I received my phone today from Aliexpress and was able to update, unlock bootloader and root my phone so I want to share the steps. Follow them at your own risk, I take no responsibility for any issues or bricking. You should always backup your phone before doing any of these steps.
This tutorial is for CN phones that already have the Global Rom installed (AKA Aliexpress special phones). I do NOT know how to install the Global Rom on a CN stock phone, please do not ask and do NOT use this tutorial if your phone does not already have the global rom installed. You will likely get the message about the OS not being supported on this HW and the phone will be unusable until you flash back the CN rom. I do not what the sellers on Aliexpress are doing to bypass this message. You have been warned and I will not provide any support!
Prerequisites:
1. A CN phone with Global Rom already installed (Seriously, if you dont have this stop reading)
2. Lenovo Rescue and Smart Assistant
https://support.lenovo.com/bh/en/downloads/ds101291-rescue-and-smart-assistant-lmsa
3. Latest Global Rom firmware file
You can use Rescue program to get or you can download it externally from here
https://www.getdroidtips.com/lenovo-legion-2-pro-firmware-flash-file/
4. ADB
Updating your Phone:
The phone I received from Aliexpress came with Global Rom 12.5.062 ST which is a bit outdated. I tried the OTA app on the phone but it said no update was available. I used the tool Lenovo Rescue and Smart Assistant to update it to 12.5.137 ST which is the latest version of the Global Rom as of this post. I did not have to unlock my bootloader first to update. Special Thanks to hhda2004 for the update steps.
1- Download Rescue and Smart Assistant for windows.
2- Enable developer option through my phone settings by tapping on the build number (Legion OS) 7 times
3- Go to General Settings and enter Developer options , enable USB debugging
4- Install run the Rescue and Smart assistant software and connect the phone.
5- Choose the Rescue option to download latest software update (it will ask for IMEI first but If it cant find it you can search for it manually)
6- Ensure your phone model number matches the OS being downloaded , in my case it is L70081, for HW Code choose none and for country I chose UK
7- follow instructions on the windows Rescue app software and it will guide you through.

8-Once you have followed the onscreen steps, your phone should reboot and you should be on the latest version of the global rom.
Unlocking bootloader:
These steps are for a CN phone with Global Rom already Installed. Please note I take no responsibility for issues or bricking regardless if you have the Global Rom installed or not. Continue at your own risks. The following steps assume you already have ADB. If not the link below has more links and information. You may lose features like Gpay and others if you unlock the bootloader
I used this tutorial to Unlock the bootloader. It has more in detail than I will provide below
https://www.getdroidtips.com/unlock-bootloader-lenovo-legion-2-pro-l70081/
1. Enable Developer Settings and toggle "OEM unlock" and "USB Debugging" to ON
2. Once you have ADB and Lenovo USB drivers, you will need to get your IMEI and Serial to be able to use the ZUI website to unlock your phone.
3. Connect your phone to the PC and Change USB configuration to File Transfer (Note: I found this setting to be very unstable, I had to unplug and replug the phone for the setting to take affect and sometime it was easier for the PC to recognize the phone if I used the side USB-C port instead of the bottom port)
4. Open ADB
5. Type in ADB
adb reboot bootloader
Click to collapse
6. Once in the bootloader, write down the serial number. You can hit the power bottom to reboot normally at this point, we just need the serial
7. Goto this website to unlock your phone and obtain the needed .img file to move forward with unlocking
https://www.zui.com/iunlock
8. Its in Chinese but in the first field enter your IMEI number from My Phone Settings. in the second field, enter the serial number you obtained from the bootloader, third is your email and the fourth field box is a captcha code, just copy the number to right of it. For me, it took about 15 mins to get the email but Ive seen people mention it could take days to get the email. Make sure to check your spam folder if you are not seeing the email
DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP
9. Once you get the email, it will have a link to download a .img, you will need that to unlock your bootloader. Download it and place it your ADB folder. Note: it was a 5kb file for me.
10. Open ADB again and do the following commands
adb reboot bootloader
Click to collapse
Followed by
fastboot devices
Click to collapse
If a device ID does not appear, unplug your phone and replug it. As I mentioned earlier, my phone was very finicky with being detected as a USB device.
Next we are going the flash the .img from the email provided by ZUI in step 9
fastboot flash unlock (filename).img
Click to collapse
Next we will send the unlock command. Do NOT do this if you did not flash the .IMG provided by the ZUI website first
fastboot oem unlock-go
Click to collapse
Your phone automatically reboot and you should see a warning about the bootloader being unlocked before you see the android logo
If it did not auto reboot you can hit it with
fastboot reboot
Click to collapse
11. That's it, your phone's bootloader should be unlocked now.
Rooting your phone with Magisk:
This is the tutorial I used to root your phone. You will need to unlock the bootloader first. Gpay may stop working.
https://www.getdroidtips.com/root-lenovo-legion-2-pro-l70081/
1. Download the latest Magisk apk
2. Download the matching firmware for phone, you can use the Lenovo Rescue and Assistance or download from this link.
https://www.getdroidtips.com/lenovo-legion-2-pro-firmware-flash-file/
3. Extract the boot.img from the firmware zip file
4. Place both the Magisk apk and boot.img on the internal storage of your phone
5. Use a file explorer app to install the magisk apk.
6. Open Magisk and tap install
7. Choose the option to select and patch a file
8. Select the boot.img from internal storage
9. Magisk will create a patched img, make note of file path of the patched img and pull the patched img out of the phone and place it in ADB folder in the PC
10. Back on the PC open ADB and type
adb reboot bootloader

11. Once rebooted, you can confirm the root by going back into magisk or using an app like rootchecker
How to pass SafetyNet:
This assumes you are already rooted. If not read above. If you open Magisk and fail to pass safetynet you can fix this by using a Magisk Modules.
1. Download SafetyNet fix by kdrag0n and place the zip on phone
https://github.com/kdrag0n/safetynet-fix/releases
2. Open Magisk and goto Modules. Search for Riru and install the module. Reboot
3. Go back to Magisk and goto Modules. Select install from storage on the top right
4. Install the SafetyNet fix by kdrag0n. Reboot
5. Your SafetyNet Check will pass
6. Open Magisk go to setting and turn on MagiskHide. Open MagiskHide options and check all the option for Gpay(Note: not sure if this step is necessary since kdrag0n said he added all things that MagiskHide was doing to his fix but i did it anyways and had no issue)
7. You should be able to use Gpay and add cards with your rooted phone
@superrama
Thanks for your tutorial.
I have exactly the Lenovo Legion duel 2 12gb ram and 128gb CN with the Global ROM installed (12.5.062 ST). I also bought it on Aliexpress. My phone is identical to yours.
I did the above steps (Rescue and Smart Assistant, ROM UK, etc). But mine doesn't update and I get a "FAIL" error message.
Would you help me? Thank you immensely.
does it give you any other messages? Did you enable USB debugging in developer setting? One thing i did not listed in the step was also enable oem unlock in developer setting as well. If you tried that already, maybe check that you have the lenovo usb drivers or try a different usb cable.
I actually used the rescue service again today without issue so it wasnt a fluke. I was trying to find a way to get safetynet and Googlepay to work so I wiped my phone again. I did find how to get safetynet to pass Gpay to work rooted but it was using magisk modules and unrelated to the build. I am going to update my original post with those steps how to get Gpay to work as well. good luck.
From the program I updated to version .90 after updating, I looked for updates and found version 12.5.188 that came by ota. Thanks a lot for the help.

How did you do it? I pressed System Update in the phone and it says there is no update available. I followed the instructions and got the .137 version but the phone doesn't find the .188 version.
.137 is the latest English, .188 is the latest other(aka not china) and I don't know the latest china version. so in this context .188 is not an update to .137.

do you already have a solution? I have the same problem and I don't know what to do
@superrama
I need help. I've done all the steps, but it's out of date and I'm getting a "FAIL" error message. The version of the RSA program is more current. I don't know if that's why.
And when the program is flashing, the screen will remain off?
I am waiting for an answer, thank you
@superrama
do you still have the ROM that you used?
Could you pass it to me to try with that ROM
Excellent tutorial, got my phone rooted in less than 30 minutes. I have a question though how do I relock the bootloader? in case I need to bring the phone back to factory, cheers.
Buenos días.
HAce unos días tengo mi legion 2 pro. Pero me ha dado un error de error de sistema. Alguien me indica que puedo hacer?
I'm getting stuck in Qualcomm crashdump mode. Every flash puts me here.
Is there an unbrick tool for this phone ? After the rescue software finished flashing my phone got stuck on Qualcomm 9008 mode with black screen
Everything went smooth during the flash process and I got no errors, it must be s firmware compatibility issue, I was on 12.5.680 with bootloader unlocked, but the firmware that I was trying to download from Rescue smart assistant was 12.5.137

Soooooo anyone can assist please?
after entering command
adb reboot bootloader
i can not see my phone in device manager , on screen its fastboot mode,
but in adb it works fine
what is issue?
original global version allow bootloader unlock?
I've got a silly question. Typically unlocking my bootloader and rooting wipes my phone.
Is this the case with this method? There no mention if the phone gets factory reset during the process.
Thanks for the help.
I cant proceed in the zui unlock website coz my serial number has only 7 digits.. how to solve this?

Question n20 or n200?

hello, i am faced with the decision to get the tmobile OnePlus N20 or the N200.
I am abandoning samsung after years of being disappointed by not being able tto do witthg my phone what i choose.
I want a device i can root and tinker with and modify as i please.
so im looking at these 2 phones and obviousl the n20 wins according tto tthe specs. butt i would like tto know if anyone has been able tto roott this device yet? or do yyou foresee any major obsttacles to unlocking the boottloader? i dont wantt to be stuck yet again with a device tthat i cant mod the way i want. i would like tto eventually be able to run kali or some custom roms on it. i need a device that i can mosl replace my lapttopwith. i cant afford tthe f;lagship pohone rightt now or i would go witth tthat. if anyone has an suggestions or info i would greatly appreciate it.
also i know these are supposed tto have to be sim unlocked first but i saw in anotther thread on anotherdevice i believe it was an OPO something but there was a script hat got rid of tthe services/apps that prevented unlocking the booloader while sim locked.
does anone know if the same script could be run on this device or will i have to sim unlock i?
The unlocked variant can be rooted as easily as any, as long as you get a copy of its boot image. The TMo variant (which you're after) has yet to get its bootloader unlock token.
To me, having high refresh rate is paramount, so N20 omitting that is a critical flaw. Plus, having tried GSIs on both, I felt N20 was weirdly stuttery/unresponsive for its specs.

Get the n20 over the n200 if the final price difference is less than $60.
The n200 is a bad device for its specs because oneplus has no interest in optimizing the OS for its low end phones with 4gb ram, because oneplus has only two devices with 4gb ram: the n100 and n200. Oneplus put an OS designed for 6gb/8gb ram with mid-high end cpus on the N200 which has only 4gb ram and lower end cpu, and as a result, the N200 performs like a Motorola phone with 2gb/3gb ram.
Similarly speced Motorola phones perform much better than oneplus.
Ironically, if you update the N200 to android 12, the system will say the phone has a snapdragon 855 cpu, while it has a low end snapdragon 480 cpu. So basically oneplus software engineers just put an OS designed for high end phones onto the low end N200 without any optimization, and even forgot to change the cpu model name.
If you buy the carrier tmo/metro version, you need to obtain unlock token bin to unlock the bootloader, and you need to sim unlock first to enable OEM unlock or you can use the disabling Qualcomm uim app trick.

Care to elaborate on what this Qualcomm uim app trick happens to be?
So I went with the n20. Actually seems to be a pretty decent phone other than the fact that it shipped with a 7 digit serial so I can't get an unlock token. Been back and forth with OnePlus trying to get it resolved but they always just tell me they will email a response within a few days. Their last response was to add a zero before the serial. But doing so just gives me an error that the serial/unlock code don't match. Hopefully I can get this taken care of and get the bootloader unlocked. OEM unlock was easy peasy to get with the debloat script found elsewhere in the opo threads here
Actually I have to say this is one of the better performing devices that I've owned. Similar to some of the flagship phones I've had. Only the refresh rate I guess would be a turn off for some though it doesn't bother me at all.
N20 of course
6/128 can make big difference from N200
Due to limit of response time, 90Hz IPS may not be better than 60Hz AMOLED
695 is like 750 according to Geekbench

Oem unlock means sim unlock or bootloader unlock?

in short, bootloader unlock.
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. It refers to the manufacturer lock on the bootloader. It is a security feature to keep you from accidentally bricking your device by tampering with the system images/files or malware from being able to modify or tamper with your system. This is why SafetyNet fails when you root and many banking apps and games check SafetyNet at the beginning of execution to make sure that your running a secure system before they allow an app to open. There are some ways to get around that by hiding root/magisk with Xposed modules(LSposed) etc... Some methods work for some apps and others dont. Make sure you have everything backed up before doing any modifications to your system because its easy to brick your device(make it unbootable/nonfunctional)
I havent found a way to SIM unlock without going through the carrier. There are services out there that claim to be able to SIM unlock your device for a fee, and many have been reviewed by other members. I have not personally ever used one. But here Im referring to unlocking the bootloader so that the system on the device can be modified (rooted, non-stock ROMs, system tweaks/mods)

I read your posts and decided on the N20 as well and I must say this is an AWESOME little phone.
It came with the stock July OS. I have read many of the posts on here but I'm sort of stuck. I can't seem to figure out how to get a copy of the original OS. Read some options saying if i couldnt get a copy I could try to make one using twrp but that went down a dead end and I am back to square one. I have enabled developer mode, debug over usb, and set the setting to allow oem unlock and I'm kind of stuck at this point. My goal is to root this thing so that I can get call recording working like my older phones.

You should seriously flash this before anything and it'll save you from bootloop
Thank you so much! I am downloading now.
This is the one I picked up just for reference. 8 digit serial number on this model.
I disabled automatic updates and had the oem bootloader unlocked as well as all playstore options for updates disabled and this morning the phone updated itself without warning to the august update. It started talking about upgraded to android s and i factory reset it hoping it would roll everything back, but nope. Stuck on stupid August Update. I just wanted to get root back on it with call recording and lock down all android os updates.

How do I flash this first? I am starting fresh again tonight and want to do it right.
Gotcha,
So I have chosen to begin this portion with the following.
Disable DM-Verity or Android Verified Boot without TWRP
In this tutorial, we will show you the steps to disable DM-Verity or Android Verified Boot (AVB) without using TWRP Recovery.
www.droidwin.com
First step is to get a stock image file. However I have not been able to make a copy of my stock rom nor the current stock rom on my Phone now which is now on August patch 2022-09-05. I have downloaded several copies but there have been posts saying not to use just any version of stock rom so I'm trying to make sure i'm doing this right.
I am also on
Build Number CPH2459_11_A.08
Basebane version Q_V1_P14
Kernel version 5.4.147-qgki-g26211b5d5105
Hardware version CPH2459_11
I have the following files downloaded to work with.
I'm thinking of using this one.
Inside the following files can be found
If this is all right then I will try to continue with this portion of their instructional.
Does this sound about right?
