When fast charging my Note 9S global, it makes a 'pinging' sound and the display lights up. Really annoying when your trying to sleep. Is there a setting that I'm not seeing to turn that off?? I have to turn the sound almost all the way down hoping that I wake if I get an emergency text/call in the middle of the night. It's bone stock at the moment that's up to date firmware wise.

I have a white 32GB 3G model. My Galaxy Tab woke me up the last 2 nights. Before I went to bed I attached the A/C-Adapter and muted the device. Few hours later it woke me up with the vibration. The last night I turned the Galaxy Tab off, but surprisingly it vibrated again, after the battery was fully charged.
Any hint how to disable this? I have read that it is possible to disable the haptic feedback, but I like the haptic feedback when I touch e.g. the Home-Button. And disabling it everytime I go to bed is no option.
My galaxy s phone does this, I just set it on the carpet floor vs my wood desk.
Mine did that too a couple of times, and then again just the other night... but not the vibrate part. The screen comes on and it makes a noise. But it doesn't do it every time. Strange, I thought, but then I realized that when it did that, it always corresponded with my home power flickering off and back on.
Sorry, no answer here, but I have the same question. Many nights I sleep thru it, but several times it woke me up. I place mine face down so I don't notice when the screen comes on - which BTW, is not easy to do while it's in the belkin slim case.
This is indeed an annoying feature. Does anybody knows where the "charged" sound is located and if it is possible to remove/replace with root explorer?
Cheers

Hello today arrived xiaomi 3s that I bought from gearbest.
It have a problem when it sleeps, I cant unlock It, dont care how many times I press the button It dont do nothing. Even if I use fingerprint sensor It makes the sound of recognotion but nothing appears on the screen.
Dispite this, I can ear notifications and sounds but the screen remain black. Even if someone calls me the phone vibrate and make sound but the screen is black and locked.
Any solution?
im currently running LOS 14.1 on two KIW-L24. both seem to have a sensitivity issue. like many if not all, i keep my phone in my pocket. while on my daily routine which involve school and work my phone often gets very hot. it seems that just keeping my phone in my pocket often awakens the phone and keeps the screen on.
i have DT2W enabled which im sure is the problem. the thing is, i had it enabled with EMUI and it never caused a problem. so, what can i do to stop this while keeping DT2W? i also notice that it takes a bit more effort to wake the phone in EMUI than it does on LOS. can the screen sensitivity be lowered for DT2W?
any and all help is appreciated.
DT2W on mine is normal, just tried it, it doesn't activate that easily even when out of pocket. I do remember having DT2W issues on previous device - I had crazy behavior of music player (DT2W wakes up display in pocket => next contact changes track or stops/pauses music, good thing I had lockscreen PIN and changed default shortcuts to custom ones, god knew who'd it call).
Greater chances are that you have issues with ambient display, esp. if you enabled pocket and pickup mode. I've noticed that mine likes waking up randomly while it's on flat surfaces or during car rides (I keep it in holder next to my gearbox), so I guess accel. sensor is giving false data or gets big value peaks which trigger wakeup.
thanks for the input ShadySquirrel! yeah, i have had a few...... i guess thigh dials?? anyway, i dont have ambient display enabled on my phone and the other phone is now back to running EMUI. for now only my phone is having the problem. im gonna post on the LOS thread since it seems to be more of a Lineage issue.... i think. thanks for the help Squirrel!
I hope that issue is fixed far ago
Hi everyone,
I'm sure this question has been asked by many users, but for some reason none of the ones I read seem to match the problems with my S6 Edge.
The other day I was playing music Youtube on my 3 year old S6 edge (for like 30min) and I forgot that autoplay was off, so the screen turned off, within 10 seconds of it doing so, I pressed the home button to 'wake it up again', but the screen won't turn on. the phone reboots once by itself but the screen remains off, and I know the phone's on because of the blinking LED light of messages, or the red when it is charging. The backlight lights up too, and it seems the screen's touch system works, as I am able to turn it off. I wait for a couple of minutes before hard resetting it (Volume down+Power key) and the screen lights up again and it's all good.
However, I have noticed this happening way too many times lately and noticed a bit of a trend. It usually happens when I use any app (except the music app) for 30 minutes or more, and if I manage to keep the screen awake, it works perfectly fine. The problem begins when the screen sleeps due to inactivity, or is voluntarily turned off. It also heats up quite a bit.
I am on the latest firmware, and have already formatted the phone once and tried, yet the problem persists. With that I suppose we can rule out that the problem is due to any third party app, or due to not updating the firmware. I also replaced the motherboard last year at a reputable phone repair shop, so I think it's a safe bet to say that's not the issue, but I am not 100% sure (the problems began 6 months after I 'unrooted' the phone, after replacing the motherboard).
As I kept going with it, it kept getting worse until eventually, now the phone is in a constant state of 'screen off but phone on', where it charges, plays music, can receive calls and messages, but cannot turn on the screen. I kept trying at 15 minute intervals to no avail, even though the phone is at room temperature.
Before I go blow a couple more 100 bucks on fixing this, I would like to hear all of your opinions on what the problem might be (and hopefully the solution).
Thanks in advance.
i have the same problem but i have the galaxy s7 edge. often i can unlock my phone but my screen will stay black. no aod or backlight but the vibration from unlocking with fingerprint is there and the sounds of opening an app are also there...
It is quite bright, especially at night. Is there a way to control its brightness?
My Xperia 1 III is rooted if that's needed.
Thank you.
I just put the phone screen facing down

That's weird. My xqbc62-v notification LED is dim and has a narrow viewing angle. I can only see it at night.
I think there are multiple hardware revisions of this phone. My first phone was purple and crashed constantly. I returned it and bought a new one later. It's purple, but so dark that it looks back except under direct sun.
I see what you mean now. The BC62 notification LED used to track ambient light and it was always relatively dim. Starting with the Android 12 update, it's max brightness all the time. It's annoying at night.
Yep I can confirm that the LED is much brighter after A12 update. I charge the phone wirelessly at night beside my bed so putting it face-down is not an option. ;-)
What I have found to work is completely unscientific but works every time for me. I use a cable so not sure if it will do the same for wireless. After I plug it in I too notice that the LED is too bright. So I wait a minute or more and unlock the phone with my fingerprint (while the charging cable is still plugged in) and then double tap the screen to relock the phone. I use Nova Prime as my launcher which allows me to double tap to lock. Usually doing this makes the LED dim down considerably. Sometimes I have to do it 2 or 3 times but it always ends up working. YMMV
Anyone knowing a 2ay to disable the LED while charging? Maybe via adb command?
