G8341 convert to dual sim G8342 - Sony Xperia XZ1 Questions & Answers

Hi all, I have a Xz1 dual G8342 brand new within a month motherboard wrecked by water, bought a battered but working Xz1 single sim with the view to rebuild into my caseing etc. I am convinced there must be a way to make it dual sim capable.
So far I have manged to flash it from G8341 to G8342 no problem but the dual sim menu won't work and it won't register sim 2.
Any input on what to do next? Cheers Chris

On a single xz premium, it was solved by replacing the sim tray with 2 sim cards and the firmware from the dual sim version and everything worked.

No such luck in this case , used the sim tray from the dual with 2 cards , flashed dual sim firmware which is running fine just dose not detect the second sim, so all second sim menus are present but unavalible.

Also was there not a problem due to needing a second IEMI number ?

Cat B15 sim management

Hi all,
My friend just bought a Cat B15, and he cant put both sims to work.
If he put the two sims on it, only detects 1. He tried putting other sims but with same result.
In settings menu should have a manage sims submenu, right? He doesnt have it.
Any thoughts?
Also, is there a program to flash firmwares like odin, for this phone? As well as firmwares?
Thank you

The CAT B15 is a single SIM device. Early review units were dualSIM however due to network issues in the UK, the device has been released as single SIM
Thanks. I got it now.

The CAT B15 is available as both dual and single sim. I purchased one last week that is dual sim and is functioning with an AT&T and a Lebara.de sim. The single vs dual is dependent on what country you purchase it in

mt6572 dual sim problem

I have myphone note 3 and i am not able to use sim card on it. Its xperia z5 repelica (mt6572) with flashlight on side of camera instead of below the camera. Sim was working fine then i tried to flash stock rom on it because rom was faulty ( i can't find one for myphone note 3, i used z5 clone firmware) which worked fine exept for i can't use sim on it anymore. Imei and baseband is not a problem as i can fix it easily.
The problem is that its a single sim smartphone, when sim was working sim 1 radio was off and sim 2 radio was on. After flashing rom or maybe using snwriter to write imei sim 1 radio turned on and sim 2 radio turned off. Now i can't use sim card on it because it uses slot 2 for sim which is turned off.
Is there anyway i can set sim 2 as default and turnoff sim 1? Any way to turn radio on for sim2 and off for sim1?

flashing single sim firmware on dual sim model and back to dual sim

I found out flashing single sim firmware on dual sim model is possible.
But is it possible to flash it back dual sim firmware?
I'm afraid that imei of sim slot2 will be deleted permanently.

Sim card not getting detected after reboot

Any suggestions on how to fix this?
Network: Tata Docomo
Try any other sim on POCO and check if it detects the sim. Also try your Docomo sim on other phones. If your sim is old, I'd suggest you to get a new sim in place of old one and try.

2nd SIM not working

A time ago I used two SIMs on my phone and they worked well.
Now that I tried again, the SIM 2 don't have service and if I change position of the SIMs then the SIM that was on port 1 stops working and the other works...
SIM 2 is recognized but no signal on it.
Any help..?

Sounds like a problem I'm facing. I had a ANE-LX1 single sim and I successfully flashed the dual sim oeminfo and dual sim rom, now I get dual sim working only when a specific sim is set as the main one (the one set for data traffic). Is it your situation?
I'm going to root the phone again to check if some update messed with the oeminfo, then I will try to force flash another dual sim rom to see if it helps...
Same problem here - currently running latest firmware available 9.1.0.257 (C432E6R1P7). Can`t force the phone to work on both cards at the same time. Works only the one set as data card.
TIA for any ideas
