In EMUI 10.1, Huawei's latest system upgrade, we've made MeeTime into a standalone app, and added a new screen sharing function, as well as a range of other improvements. You can incorporate these exciting new features into your app with HUAWEI CaaS Kit, which is now open to developers.

Since MeeTime has both audio and video modules, it naturally required more development work. We spared no effort in making the CaaS Kit integration process as quick and easy as possible, while continuing to update and extend the kit's functions.
Finally, after a major update in June, we made CaaS Kit available to all developers, so you can now incorporate its versatile and customizable capabilities into your apps. The Kit's home page on HUAWEI Developers has also been updated to provide clearer guides on the subcapabilities of voice and video calls with virtualized devices, screen sharing, in-app calls, and in-app custom calls.
Voice and video calls with virtualized devices
Huawei's DeviceVirtualization service virtualizes devices, and the CaaS service implements the virtual camera-based video calling function, so you can tailor the video source of calls.
Screen sharing
You can add real-time sharing functions to your apps.
In-app calls
Users can quickly implement one-touch voice and video calls within your apps.
Custom calls within apps
Your apps can provide one-touch voice and video calls, and users can hide their real numbers and customize their display names during calls, to protect their privacy.

HUAWEI AppGallery further opened the mobile app referrer query API through AppGallery Connect, enabling developers and third-party attribution platforms to implement targeted marketing activities and efficient promotions with newfound ease. The API provides developers with access to customized referrers, including third-party download source, number of downloads, installation volume (IV), and installation times. When developers opt to join forces with a third-party attribution platform, they can use the Referrer SDK provided by the platform to obtain extraordinarily precise attribution analysis-based information.

Attribution is one of the most important aspects of mobile marketing - https://www.mighty.digital/blog/mobile-attribution-explained . If you're not sure what attribution is, it's simply the process of determining which channels are driving app installs and in-app actions. This data is essential for understanding how your marketing efforts are performing and allocating your resources accordingly.

Nice to see progress on this area for Huawei.
Apps and businesses need to adapt to the unique conditions of the Chinese market, and the very first steps usually start from local policies and regulations. To better understand and identify the necessary certificate in the Chinese market, Huawei provides developers with a self-service online consultation system.

Different challenges when entering the Chinese Market
Because of tighter restrictions on releasing Apps in China and the uniqueness of the market, developers often have a number of questions and concerns when thinking about releasing their Apps, which range from monetization and data privacy to game licensing.
Varying requirements by app category
The Chinese government strictly controls the release of some Applications, particularly games, to mobile users and these restrictions can vary from category to category. The App categories shown on the right-hand side of the screen, like education, tools, and Photo & Video, can be released on AppGallery without needing licenses. However, categories such as Health & Fitness, Finance, and News & Reading, shown on the bottom left of your screen, are subject to obtaining ICP Licenses and Computer Software Copyright Certificates. Games are under the strictest control and require additional documentation to be in place before they can be released.
Find all you need on the platform
Huawei has created an easy-use online platform for developers, which will quickly help developers identify if their apps require any additional licenses or documentation. And the video has demonstrated how to query application qualifications on the self-service platform.

In the questionnaire feedback after the event, nearly half of the developers are interested in the HMS ecosystem. More than a third of developers found Scan Kit and ML Kit content useful and wanted to learn more about it. More than two-thirds of developers expressed willingness to cooperate with App Gallery. The overall satisfaction of the event reaches 4.5 points.
