Hi, i gave device administrator right to this app.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1213606
"This app works using the "Device administrator" mode, this means it works only on Android 2.2 and higher.
Also if you want to uninstall it you first have to disable the device admin mode, this can be done in the Android settings or in the app settings. If you don't disable device admin mode the uninstall will fail!"
That's exactly right, i wasn't able to uninstall it, but after i disabled the right inside the app, i was able to uninstall it. Now here comes my problem, for some reason the application is still active, asking for a password after i unlock my phone. The thing is, it's not accepting my password. (Before the uninstall part, it accepted my password). My question is, is there any way to "take back" the right from the app? Right now, i can't do anything with my phone.
Iam pretty much doomed. Reflashed my phone, wiped data/cache/darvik formated data/cache/system, installed LeoMar75 v2.5, but after the reboot, it's still asking for password. Anyone can help me?
maybe there is a cache/permission located on the sd? remove the sd and reboot the phone? thats really all i can think of that stayed the same...
I do have a Thunderbolt (PG05100) that is not in use for a year, I forgot the unlock pattern and don't remember the Google account use to register the phone. Is there a way to disable the unlock pattern by using adb or another existing tool? I know that I can hard reset the phone but I don't want to loose the information like contacts, msg's, etc.
Your contacts are backed up with your Google account but the messages will be erased. Unfortunately the only solution is to do a factory reset.

Or, you could crack the lock pattern, I wrote a simple one-click tool to do it, but lost it when my computer crashed :/. Learn how to crack it HERE @jeaponte
Interesting hack but it won't work if usb debugging isn't enabled on his device.

Without usb debugging or knowing the Google account info.... use legally only please
**EDIT**
Hmm seems that Google removed it from the app store..... some good detective work could probably come up with the original APK I bet!

What recovery do you have? You can usb debug thru most recoveries. If you can do so, and you know how to use adb, execute this command
Code:
adb shell rm /data/system/gesture.key
and you'll be golden. If you use TWRP recovery, go to advanced > terminal command > press select in the bottom right-hand corner > then type in this code
Code:
rm /data/system/gesture.key
, it's the same thing minus the adb shell. Let me know if either way works, if not, don't worry, I have a few more tricks up my sleeve, don't reset that phone!
solved
can you share with the class?
Looks like I had to reboot my computer a couple times , installed sync once more , reboot again, MAKE SURE DEVICE IS CONNECTED while trying to uninstall. Appearantly it doesn't have a log file if the phone is not connected. Hope this helps. Oh, reboot computer again after uninstall.

Hi guys! So my problem is that I have accidentally set a pattern lock, and I can't figure it out. I read that I can remove the pattern with ADB, but my problem is...USB debugging is NOT enabled on the phone, and I can't go to Settings. However I can do it from the Guest user, but there aren't any important settings like mobile data, nor USB debugging. So my question is, how can I delete the lock?
The little i know is that if the device is not in debugging mode ADB cannot work, hence the only way to get access to the device is probably wiping data.

If you can't get adb to work, there's another way that requires a recovery. If you have one then you just have to delete one file (I can't remember it's location right now, it was on /data partition).
Else the only way is to replace the phone via flashtool and wipe everything (including internal storage).

Hi everyone, i'm having an issue with my G5. I can't connect the smartphone to the PC with MTP mode, it only recharges. I tried to download and install drivers ( from the LG's website ) but the smartphone doesn't appear to the PC. What could i do?
is it in charging only mode?
if yes then go to Developer Options (if not enabled go to Settings > About phone > Software infor and tap Build number 5 times) and set your USB configuration to MTP

When I transitioned to the G5 from my G3 I have trouble with this stuff, I had to uninstall every single piece of LG software and reinstall just the stuff that I now needed. I downloaded everything fresh and I have no trouble now. Hope this helps.

by chance, did you change the port from the PC?
also did you try to uninstall drivers and install again
on my Windows 10 all seems to have been installed automatically
Yes i tried with another port, but nothing. Now i'm trying to uninstall drivers, will let you know.
Uninstalled all the drivers, and tried to install from zero, but nothing.
Edit: tried to insert a micro-sd in the smartphone, but nothing displayed on the PC. i'm also having a strange problem with the microphone: i haven't problem while i'm in a call, but it doesn't work sometimes when i'm on skype, facebook or whatsapp

When I got my S4 a few years ago I couldn't get my PC to properly recognize it at all. Ended up installing "PDAnet for Android" (free version) which in turn took care of all the correct drivers or something, but after that it worked fine.
When I got the G5 last month I didn't have to do anything (PDAnet is still installed, but not running/active) - I simply plugged it in and it worked.
Might be worth a shot for you? It's a small app and doesn't do anything if you disable it from starting up when Windows starts

1 hour ago, i tried again to uninstall and install everything, and after some attempts it worked. When i unplugged it and plug it again, it didn't work. Took some other attempts and it worked again .-.
I'll try this app too, thank you. PS: do you have some problem with the microphone using whatsapp or something like that sometimes?

I only use Whatsapp for texting sorry, the only calls I make are through the dialer/phone app and I've not had any issues there.

I found out a simple way through sheer luck. Might work if its not working or for those who are having these problems.
So I noticed that the MTP driver wasn't installed AFTER I fixed the problem. So, once you have your phone to "transfer files" go to "devices and printers" on your Windows and you should find your LG phone under "Unspecified". Right click and go to properties. Then go to the hardware tab and update your driver from there. Make sure to update via online. Worked for me
I had this same problem. I switched USB mode from MTP to PTP, and it solved it.
This source agrees that LG devices need to be set to PTP, unlike all other Android devices: recovery-android.com/fix-android-file-transfer-mac.html
BTW: Did someone recognize, that some files are missing if connected to pc?
I have copied "all" files from ext. sd-card of my G5 to an external drive.
But as i had compared ext. sd-card with an external sd-card reader, there is a big difference of file count!!
It was the same effect, after copying files between int. mem and ext. sd! Sometimes this files are also not visible if connected to pc!
Could someone explain it to me?
