Fastboot mode not working on xiaomi mi8 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a xiaomi mi8 with the unknown baseband
so I wanted to flash a full rom and supposedly fix the problem
but the phone when I put it in fastboot mode with the bootloader already free, there is no way to connect either by adb or miflah or fastboot adb etc it comes out of fastboot and there is no way to load twrp or any other type of flah
Does anyone know why this happens??
thank you

@spock2010
This post understands who want to, me not.

I can not make flash in any usual way, that's the problem or my flash, nor install twrp anything, fastboot mode does not allow to do anything

My phone is breck (bootloop but can access fastboot)

So I tried to change the ROM of my phone because the vendor's one had malware but it was worse, my phone is stuck at boot screen and can't do anything with it.
First I tried to install a ROM with TWRP, it installed but it was just a black screen, you could only see the battery status.
Then I tried to install the global ROM that is on the official xiaomi site but it didn't work and it locked my phone.
Now I can't use TWRP, please help me. I am desperate.
Miflash isn't detecting the phone, but the PC does cause it listed under Android Phone->Android ADB Interface on device manager.

Once you rebooted it into download mode, use this:

My PC is no longer detecting the phone, only detects Qualcomm 9008
Ok, it is working till the miflash step it says "receiving hello packet" in red
You will need to flash a ROM using fastboot.
First install fastboot on your pc: http://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-to...t-setup-75174/
Second Download a flashable Rom: http://en.miui.com/a-234.html (make sure to choose the right one)
Unzip the rom and navigate to the 'images' folder
Put the phone into Fastboot mode (volume down and power button together until fastboot appears)
Connect the phone to pc with USB
Shift Right click on a blank space in the folder and choose 'open command window here'
run the following commands. one at a time
fastboot devices
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash cache cache.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot reboot

Hello guys, i have a redmi 3s china version, so i try to find global version, i installed all driver and try to use with miflash that:
land_global_images_V7.5.9.0.MALMIDE_20160805.0000.29_6.0_global_470b843c10.tgz
(if i use xiaomiflash i get error) meanwhile with miflash i see device and i flash it but something wrong , i restart the phone i stuck on the logo MI
I try also to download land_global_images_V7.5.4.0.MALMIDE_20160523.0000.23_6.0_global_dc5d804271.tar
seems is the right firmware
So i try again to flash in fastboot mode with miflash but i get error like i have no permission.
So i extract the whole firmware on a dir where there is ADB files , same problem...the device is locked
I try online the procedure with sms to unlock the bootloader ( i think is the only way, right?) or there are any other solution?
Maybe there is a stock rom to replace the original rom and put the global rom in another way?
Thanks in advanced
Bye

After you run 'fastboot devices' is anything listed? Usually a string of numbers. If not then the computer isn't seeing your device.
Try rebooting the computer, and trying different USB leads and ports if possible and try again.
Using this method you don't have to use MiFlash, and is for when MiFlash doesn't work.
Once your phone is working again you can try again to install another ROM using traditional methods.

Le eco le pro 3 (x727) freeze cannot start

My le eco le pro 3, during a normal day, stopped working.
If i try to turn it on i see the "LeEco powered by android" and after 10 seconds it turns off with a blue led.
I can not access the recovery mode, only the fastboot mode.
What fastboot command do i have to do to fix this? :crying:
If you can reach fastboot that is great already, i dont know if they bundle their devices with a recovery so you'll need to find a recovery for your device (quick google search, look for TWRP)
Also grab the drivers for your phone so you'll be able to write the recovery you downloaded.
Download the Google Universal ADB + Fastboot package (the 10 seconds installer)
Once everything is done, you'll need to go to the folder containing ADB and Fastboot with a command prompt
In the same folder you put the downloaded recovery. Put your phone in recovery mode, plug it, and type in the cmd : fastboot devices
If it recognize something you are good to go, you type fastboot flash recovery recoveryname.img
Then lookup for a Rom, i'm sure there is plenty of it, you'll flash the Rom either with sideload or if you have TWRP via Transfer

If i don't want to root, do i have to unlock the bootloader anyway?
It might be a stupid question, but I do not know much about this.
Yeah you will need to unlock the bootloader in order to flash a new rom
But roms aren't rooted so you can relock your bootloader after

Need help on a Mix3(stuck in fastboot after unlocking)

The phone is a Chinese version Mix 3, after unlocking it following the posted guide; it stuck in fastboot mode. No matter how I reboot it (either press and hold button or through adb)it would always go back to fastboot. I was able to connect it to pc via adb, and I also installed the newest TWRP. However, no way I was able to get into recovery nor TWRP recovery. In powershell, only fastboot was able to recognize the device but not adb. Please inform how to solve the issue, any help will be much appreciated. Thank you.

ZTE Z820 (Obsidian) Cant boot fastboot/bootloader bootloop

I tried using the Tool All In One to unlock the bootloader and manually through the adb and fastboot terminal. ADB recognizes the device even though every time i reboot to bootloader through adb or manually through the phone recovery and manual buttons it never sends me to the bootloader. i was able to flash the stock firmware with SP flash tool. I really just want to install TWRP. i have been able to root this device with Wondershare dr.fone root program. I wanted to get it to work with the All in One tool so i can install TWRP to install custom firmware. If anybody can point me in the right direction on why the bootloader never works and fastboot? Maybe this model the bootloader is unaccessible? And if i cannot get to fastboot to unlock the bootloader can i still install twrp somehow. Also when using fastboot command it shows the device id it just says waiting for device everytime and cannot get it to recognize past that point. Not being able to get past this phone problem has been really bothering me and irritating me lately so hopefully i can get it resolved. I will be back later to see if anybody knows a solution to this. it seems like i have been trying to do the same thing and maybe im right and fastboot mode and the bootloader is locked and currently not possible.

Root and install twrp available?

Is it possible to install twrp recovery and root using magisk in this phone or not possible because of mediatek processor?
Bhai have patience , this is Mediatek we all know but another thing to notice is This is MT- g95 SoC ?
Orange state in realme 7 when bootloader unlocked but unable to use fastboot.
I have unlocked my realme 7 bootloader with in-depth test built for realme 6 pro. It is working. But now after unlocking the phone factory resets itself and when trying to go into fastboot mode with ADB command ADB reboot bootloader the fastboot verify check fails all the time. So how to go into fastboot mode after bootloader unlock. This issue never happened when I start in-depth test after permissions. It's very strange that even after unlocking the phone is not booting into fastboot mode while giving error in verification. Guys can anyone knows how to solve this. Please reply asap.

I think your adb driver not working please install adb driver reinstall and verfiy fails problem solve, thanks
No no adb driver is working and tested on other devices. I think the problem is with smartphone serial key ( It shows serial key mismatch and therefore fastboot unlock verify fail in fastboot mode).
To Root you phone:-
Download your device boot image > download magisk manager > patch your device boot image > go to fastboot mode > type in command >fastboot --disable-verity--disable-verification > flash vbmeta (fastboot flash vbmeta (put your vbmeta path here) > flash magisk patched image (fastboot flash boot (put your patched file path here) now reboot your phone it will be rooted if on First boot it didn't then reboot your device
