Hello everyone, as you know, the Tab S6 does not have an onboard DAC so you need to use a USB DAC to use earphones.
However, when I plug my USB DAC in, and I try to use Adapt Sound, it tells me that I need to plug in my earphones???
I'm using also a DAC adaptor for my Note 10+ and Tab S6 (SM-T860) in order to be able to use my old analog earbuds (3.5mm connector) and I don't have any problem getting to Adapt Sound.
You adaptor, probably, is not fully compatible with Samsung's USB-C output.

How do i know which USB DAC will be detected as 'headphones'?
The one im using shows up as a 'S/PDIF output' when i connect it on my Windows computer
Unfortunately, there is no way to know when you buy it. You have to rely on manufacturer's statement and on the price. Cheap ones don't work. I bought mine from Aliexpress (the second one and the more expensive one).
When connected to a computer, it shows indeed its name plus SPDIF. You should also take in account that, on the market, there are DAC adaptors with or without amplifier, so there is a big range of prices. This is what I bought and it works fine on Tab S6 and Note 10+ (without amplifier):

wouldn't it be nice if there was a way to 'force' adapt sound to turn on?

It doesn't look like it to me. Is this true? This would be a show-stopper for me. Thanks.
Found the answer: No.

Well that sucks.
If it's any consolation, neither does the Xoom. I think once you hit the larger tablet form factor, you can expect USB charging to go out the window.
Yeah, 5V DC at less than an amp is only supplying around 4.5 watts of charging power. You're looking at 7 hours or thereabouts to charge via USB. If it's any further consolation, the iPad can charge via USB, but only high power USB or when it is asleep. It will still take a long time. Still, it would be nice to have the option even just to keep it topped off while near the computer.

Amen!
Anyway I find the overall battery performance on the G tab pleasing!
What about something like this?
I have this:

which is powered externally via 5V DC at 3A amps. It has USB ports on the bottom and even comes with a USB-to-DC adapter for the Sony e-Reader.
Since this isn't a regular computer USB port (I guess), could this type of setup theoretically work with the GTab and, if so, is there some type of USB-to-DC cable that would work?
Hello there,
I wonder how the mini-hdmi slot feels like when a cable is plugged in and the tablet is in your hands : the slot is on the right, and it seems like the connection is going to be quite fragile if you try to play an accelerometer based game with this cable leaving the tablet at 90 degrees and having all the weight of the cable until it reaches the floor to get to the tv applying force down on the little connection...
this is why I'm trying to find a robust mini-hdmi to hdmi swivel adapter. Something like this :

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
but mini-hdmi to hdmi.
Does someone have an idea ? Does this exist ? Am I looking for something not necessary ? (I don't have the pad yet as it should come to France by the beginning of May)
Cheers,
Sgspikes
Most mini hdmi to hdmi cables aren't the thickest things in the world. The cable should be able to handle the torsion easily way before the connection. As long as its a camera type hdmi cable and not a bulky thick cable.
You could use that very cable and add a HDMI to Mini (or Micro) HDMI adapter. They're available on amazon for a few dollars
I got one of these and it worls well so far.

Meh... Without integrated HDMI and USB, not really interested honestly
I mean think about it. How awesome would it be to have the dock connected to a USB keyboard and mouse, and an external monitor? Pretty darned awesome!

Hello, I have problem with MHL adapter, maybe someone can figure it out.
I bought first adapter, something like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
This one works with my 1080p TV, but FPS is too low for anything except movies. I thought that it probably is MHL 1.0 adapter which supports only 24 FPS.
So I bought another one, MHL 3.0 Delock adapter
beacuse I found somewhere that MHL 3.0 doesn't require external power and It supports 1080p with 60FPS. But this one doesn't work at all, phone makes "charging started" sound when connected to TV, but nothing happens. No MHL window pop-up, no even charging.
Where is the problem? Does MHL 3.0 require specific TV or something? It should work anyway, beacuse MHL 3.0 is backwards compatible. Maybe cable is disfunctional?
PS: TV is 50' Funai 50FDI7724/10
I dont think the second one can work without any circuit
Probably there is a curcuit on the cable for which transformation the display
your tv needs to support mhl, to use it without external power...
try disabling "STAMINA Mode" it will increase FPS , if not ,
connect the MHL cable & goto Service menu by *#*#7378423#*#* & select
Service Tests -> TV-Out-Test -> Video format & change it to the low resolution (1280x720 60FPS) , go back , reconnect the MHL cable and see it helps.
I pulled this Radio app from an A12 rom for the Oppo A74 India version that is basically the same phone with more memory and storage.
Oppo now uses the same kernel since A12 for all phones with the same hardware chipset, so the ColorOS APPS are all interchangeable between phones and "branding" such as OnePlus.
N200 FM Radio APP
Now you MUST plug something into the 3.5mm Jack as it needs the wire as an antenna. It can be headphones, Earbuds, powered speakers.
Another person I know connected it to his PIE with a 3.5mm extension cable and it worked when he selected the speaker option.
The straighter the cable is the better the reception. Move the cable around as needed.
You can also use "Live Caption" option and it will work with the radio as shown on screenshot.

Thanks! I remember I had this kind of thing on one of my old Samsung phones. It isn't too much use for me but it's definitely cool!
Awesome, thanks! Much appreciated... Although I've been satisfactorily using Transistor after the update to A12, nothing is quite the same as tuning in to OTA FM radio...
