Hi, I was wondering how big or small the Tab S7 Plus is overall compared to its spiritual predecessor the Note Pro 12.2 that I own. I was wondering if anybody who has both tablets would be kind enough to share a few pictures of both side by side. Thanks in advance.
Here's the 12.2 Dimensions 295.6 mm (11.64 in) H 204 mm (8.0 in) W 8 mm (0.31 in) D Mass 740 g (1.63 lb)
and here's the S7 Plus Dimensions 11.22 x 7.28 x 0.22" Weight 1.30 lb
I just sold my unlocked 12.2 which I thought I would have forever. Only sold it because of the S7 Plus which I am hoping Sammy in the US will allow pre-purchase this week. As you can see, the Plus is smaller all around with a slightly larger screen. The weight difference is a little more substantial. The weight on the Pro with Keyboard cover made it a much heavier device overall, but I haven't seen the dimensions on the Plus keyboard cover yet. I suspect that I'll own the Plus as long as I owned the Pro 12.2.
Thank you for your reply. I wish you had held on to your 12.2 just a wee bit longer so that I would have had a chance to look at photos of them side by side.
It's a lot smaller. It doesn't feel like it to me coming from a Tab S6. I had a Tab Pro 12.2 but don't remember it being as big as it clearly is.

Since the OEM keyboard case for the 12.2 overlapped the four corners of the tablet, I'm sure it seemed much larger than the Plus with OEM keyboard cover.
Thank you to everyone who has replied so far. Much grateful and appreciated.
Hello,
I'll send you pictures tonight (I don't have my Note 12.2 Pro with me, I'm at work with my Tab S7+ only).
But from what I experienced until now, it that I finally the perfect new tablet to replace the old one. I was looking for 12" only because I read a lot of comics and others on tablet so I need a big screen.
I have the Note pro 12.2 since years now and it did the job but became very slow even if I could upgrade with latest customer roms.
The new Tab S7+ is just amazing. Screen is brighter and the tablet is just so fast !
About battery life I don't have enough experience but of course because tablet is new, it works for a very long time (I used the tablet for days before recharging).
But tonight I'll take pictures and even a video so you'll see by yourself.
@luffy092, if you could post some pictures and/or videos that would be really great.
The tab S7 + looks noticeably smaller and thinner and feels significant lighter than the Note pro 12.2.
I'll try to sell both of my Note pro 12.2s.

Will keep my Note 4 and Note Pro 12.2 for nostalgia. They're the only gadgets I've ever maintained affection for
Picture
Finally received my S7+ today!
Here is pic of it sitting on top of my 12.2.
The thickness is nearly identical, 12.2 is a little thicker.
@grayhawk...Thank you for the picture. Is the s7 plus wider in landscape mode than the 12.2 because the dimensions on paper suggest differently. The picture where you have the s7 plus on top of the 12.2, shows that it is wider but shorter in height in landscape mode than the 12.2.

I am about to purchase my second tablet. Well, if you count an older model rooted Nook as a first tablet, that is. Been doing TONS of research & I have it narrowed down to the Z, Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014), and new Kindle HDX.
At the moment, the Sony is leading. I wish the screen were a little higher def, but you probably can't even tell the difference at some point. My main questions are about the camera & internal speakers.
- Does the rear facing 8 MP camera have video capability? Is it 720 or 1080?
- Where are the speakers located? They are on the back of my Nook which makes them really hard to hear, especially if the unit is sitting flat.
I wish there was a "one size fits all" tablet, but it is a series of tradeoffs regardless of which direction you turn. Thanks in advance for any tips.

The rear facing camera can record in 1080p.
The tablet has 2 speakers, with four grills. Each speaker is located in the bottom corners of the device (consider the Sony logo in the right position, i.e. device in landscape). The grills are located in the side and bottom corners of devices.
Look at this image I made: The circle says more or less where the speakers are, and the arrows point to where the grills are.

So they are rear facing like the Nook? May be only choice due to front glass, but I thought I saw a tab somewhere that had them on front. Just can't remember which one. Looked at WAYYY too many!

It has both front and back facing cameras. Back one is 8 MP, 1080p. Front one is 2.2 Mp, 1080p also.
And the speakers are side facing, not rear.
I meant speakers, not cameras. Sorry about that
has anyone seen a real quality case with a keyboard for the 10.1? something like this one?

Quality Keyboard Case
I ordered one similar from caseinthebox.com. There was some skepticism about the validity but I paid via PayPal and chose slow boat from china delivery. The keyboard is removable which I liked. I will update once I get it in 10 to 20 days.

Wait up! I bought a case for the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 when I ordered my Tab Pro 10.1 and the case doesn't work for my Tab Pro 10.1.... So be careful because there's a good chance it will not work...
You may be right though because this one is a leather case with opening on the corners, and the one I purchased was a hard case and covered the corners, so I couldn't get mine to fit into it because of that. From the looks of this one it should work, but better to be safe and take your tablet with you and ask to try it.

i appreciate the link but that is not near the quality i was looking for.
Neither Samsung has the best quality. I bought a flip cover original and had to polished interior. Camera image quality was affected.
Does anyone know that Xperia Z2 Tablet works with Stylus ? I mean regular tablet stylus like Wacom bamboo, Adonit Jot, etc.
I've seen a video on YouTube that shows it doesn't work well on it and we should push it so hard to work. is that true ?
Well I have the Bamboo Stylus pro(5mm) and I apply medium pressure on the screen for nice strokes so its kinda in between - not to hard but not to soft either.
So its alright

But in my experience it's not good at fine, detailed strokes like those you need for taking notes or writing a letter.

Yeah but in my experience with different passive touchscreen tablets they are never really suitable for notetaking in comparison with an active digitizer tablet

Exactly, I have a Wacom Intuos 4 tablet for professional digital painting but my idea was to sketch and paint some simple designs with this little handy tablets. by the way would you tell me that is the stylus functionality as good as Samsung note 10.1 2014 ?
If it is notetaking that you want then this tablet I am afraid is not for you if your going to use words by a stylus instead of a BT keyboard. It is usable of course but in no way can you make fine strokes that are as tiny as with a real pen. I have a surface pro 2 and that one is specifically made to support to these things.
For me I would choose a Surface Pro every day if I wanted a good tablet with pen support and the Galaxy note is a close second, so to answer your question - no, stylus support on the Z2 will never be as good as the Galaxy Note's because of the fact that one has real pen support and the other one doesn't.
I hope that helps you in your decision

thank you so much I appreciate it , I really like surface pro 3 and Wacom Cintiq companion but these are a little bit expensive and I can't afford it.
anyway I hope sony add some new features like stylus in upcoming Xperia z3.
I was pleasantly surprised to discover that my two extra note 7 styluses work in my note 8. They appear to be identical - other than the color. I didn't do much testing - and I'm using my Note 8 stylus for now. Let me know if you have any success or discover issues.
Mike.

Good find! I know some of the reviews I watched for the Note8 mentioned that the stylus is the same exact one from the Note7 with the same features and level of pressure sensitivity.
I thought if I remember right the old note styluses like the Note 5 Stylus worked on my Note 7 and I'm sure older ones may have worked for the Note 7 or other Notes it's just they didn't fit correctly in the hole.
Note 3 stylus works, not fits, good enough for a spare...my Note 7 stylus works great but not going to put it in..lol
I like the eraser function when pressing the button during typing...

It has more pressure points compared to the Note 5 stylus. Samsung's marketing forgot the Note 7 existed. Reviewers just parroted the marketing spiel.
The extra pressure points are in the note 8 DISPLAY and is not dependant on the pen. Otherwise every device with wacom technology would be easily upgradable just by buying another stylus. It doesn't work that way. The pens should be exactly the same.
are the tips the same from the 7 to the 8?

might just be me but the tip does slightly smaller than the note 7s. I still miss my blue coral note 7
I'm pretty sure they are exactly the same. No point in manufacturing something if you still have lots leftover from last year
that's good then if the same. I still have 2 from my note 7.

I have been using the FYY wallet case for a few weeks now.
FYY Samsung Galaxy S10 5G Case Luxury [Cowhide Genuine Leather][RFID Blocking] Handcrafted Wallet Case, Handmade Flip Folio Case with [Kickstand Function] and[Card Slots] for Galaxy S10 5G Black
I'm super picky when it comes to a wallet case. I hate a cheap inside tray. This one comes with a nice rubber tray the buttons work flawless with it.
I keep two CC sometimes 3 with my ID in the front it always closes nicely. The magnet always works very well closed or unclosed. It feel comfortable in my hands and my often use it with one hand. Not always this is a giant phone of course. I have had a couple of drops no damage was taken. The stand works nicely when you want to set it down to watch a video. The cutouts of perfect for the cameras, and also very deep for more protection. This is supposed to be a hand crafted case, and it does feel like it. For a wallet case fan I think this is the one you get. Its about 30 USD on Amazon.
This is actually a better case than the otters wallet cases offered on other phone models that I have used in the past. I think I will shop for FYY cases for future phones as well.
The most important part to me. The buttons work very very well while your phone is incased in rubber.
