Just saw review with tab s7 where they use DEX without any cables and docks, but via Wi-Fi..
All you need is tablet and smart TV. So is there a way to make the same on our tab s6 tablet?
Maybe installing new dex home, dex apks from apkmirror or something?
Did anyone try it?

Its probably tied into OneUI 2.5, would be my guess.
Yeh, it came with yesterday's update. But it can't find my Chromecast to connect to the TV. Otherwise connection to Chromecast wasn't and isn't the problem only with DeX ... .

DEX wirelessly worked fine on my Sony T.V! Just make sure you have keyboard & mouse paired as when you cast DEX wirelessly the screen on the Tab S6 stays on your regular ONE UI 2.5 as it's not mirror connection! i had to flash DBT firmware ONE UI 2.5 as the Tab S6 is on BTU as the update wasn't showing!

I found out in the meantime, DeX will not work with Chromecast at all. But it's not a problem, since I've the appropriate cable for the monitor.
A pity is, DeX on PC doesn't work with tab6 and tab7 In my opinion this is a great feature. It's working with note 9 though ... .

Samsung says Note 9 and S9 are eligible for 2.5. Just a matter of when them and then carriers push it out to us.

Thanks i own the 6GIG ram Note 9 so will dex preform like my Note 10 + 5g as that's got 12GIG ram ? As i did hear that One UI 2.5 will be a stripped down version for the Note 9 ?
Only reason i'm holding on to the Note 9 is thanks to it's dual sim, plus it's 3.5mm jack! Witch is cruical when you don't drive new cars!
I don't own a note9, it's my mom's. She is happy DeX on PC is working on it, opposite to her tab s7 and our tab s6.

Only works with stock ROMs . Will not work with CM based or AOSP
Ive been reading many posts about the HDMI adaptor not working... I just downloaded Samsungs Samsung care app and according to the tv out section my G Tab 2 10.1 p5110 does not support it... maybe if somebody tried the same app on a device which has been successful in using the adaptor and see what it says on that device.
Also these tabs are bril... I saved over 100 £ on the device just costing me about 180 £. Bargin!

just got this adapter today. As previously thought, it does not work on CM10 but what's weird is that my wife has the original Tab 10.1 and it works on her's running CM10.
Anyway, I'm going to reflash my Tab with another ROM to test it out.

That's what I'm saying. Our Tab running CM10 plays video and audio perfect. There must be some modification in that rom to make it work. Oh well, at least one of our tablets works

HDMI out on a CM based ROM never happened, can't happen, it doesn't contain the drivers to make the hardware work.
If you are talking about playing video on the tablet screen, you are in the wrong thread, This is about HDMI

Where did you get this info? It's not detailed enough because there are 3 different models numbers for Galaxy Tab 2 10.1” and only GT-P5113 model supports HDMI output. Adapter is useless for GT-P5100 and GT-P5110 users.

I can confirm that the Samsung HDTV only works for the GT-P5113 and not the GT-P5100 or GT-P5110

Correct, the P5100 does not have video out so this will not work.

Well......... several post here point out that only the P5113 has video out and so does Samsung's accessory page. So.......................hoping just won't make it so...
So does it work or not???? The EPL-3PHPBEGSTA HDMI adaptor for the P5113 tab??
On the stock Samsung ROM, you have to attach a power cord to the adapter as well in order to get video - P5113
I have been trying to get the side sync to work properly, I get connection but the interface on the phone goes dim and the tablet interface goes black, I have a note 3 (T-Mobile) on a S5 port rom and a note 10.1 2014 on a port Tab S, I belive I need a stock kernel which I have tried but still the same result, any ideas?

The 2017 are so new, I went with the Galaxy A5 2017 instead of jumping on the A7, I was afraid the A7 would be just too big for me.
I have a Sony Xperia Z3+ and like it for the most part but it doesnt have fast charging and the battery is not all day, Many reviews say that the battery will last all day on the A5 2017, since I get it tonight I will set it up and test tomorrow and see.
I know its a step down from an s7 but its only a short step from what I see on the reviews.
At half the price new ( 329 here in USA) it seems like a bargain

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 mini. How would an A3 2017 be in comparison? Would it be a justifiable upgrade? I got marshmallow on my S5 mini now and it works so much better but I think I might like to save for a new phone and I need something in a similar size and form-factor. The best I could find was the A3 2017 but I am unsure, can someone walk me through how much of an upgrade it might be and what the benefits would be?

The A3 2017 is way better, first you will get a bigger screen ( 4.7") compared to the 4.5" found on the S5 mini, you get a 13mp camera vs 8mp on your current device, 0.5GB more RAM and way better Soc ( Exynos 7870 octa ), also the A3 2017 have a bigger battery (2350mah) compared to the smaller 2100mah found on the S5 mini.
Software wise you have the latest grace ux on the A3, which is lighter, faster and more beautiful,with AOD support like on the S7 edge.
You get IP68 certification, dust and water proof resistance, a fingerprint scanner and a way better design, so premium.
So yes it's worth, the A3 7 blows the S5 mini of water.

So i got my FOLD today and the device is seriously under rated. it's stunning and folding it open always beings a smile to my face.
What it needs now is a proper software update to camera and DEX on pc which is available to Note 10 and S10 series. Samsung needs to work on it and quickly update the FOLD asap.
Maybe like Tab S4 Tab S6 they should have DEX mode built in. when we use larger screen the DEX mode can be handy,
Update is certainly eminent. Best thing is when people look at you when you open it up. Then they ask "what is that?" Lol

so i updated mine. it gives note 10 camera features but still no dex on pc. tried it few times but failed.
infact more than dex on pc they should have dex mode toggle on the fold itself like tab series.
My Samsung Galaxy Fold SM-F900F is bought in Norway with the Nordic product code NEE. Are the European firmwares multi-csc OXM like for the S10's for the Fold too, so that I can download ASJ4 which is released in France and flash it and still keep the phone NEE?
Edit: Downloaded ASJ4 and updated my Fold with Odin without any problems using home_CSC. Saw that the firmware was OXM so was quite confident that it would work and it did.

Hi my Question is does Vivo x Fold's Support any kind of Desktop Mode like Huawei or Samsung with Samsung i know it has Dex and Huawei has EMUI but the Samsung Unfolded Size is way to small for my liking and the Huawei mate x3 is way to Expensive i have the P30 pro and use it with EMUI Desktop mode and i like it alot but i need a Foldable that Supports Desktop Mode so i can combind it with my Portable Monitor and wirless Keyboard/Mouse. The Vivo x Fold 2 Size and the Design i like the best out of all the Fold's but if i cant use it as Desktop Mode i have to get another Brand. Xiaomi looks good aswell does it Support Desk Mode? thanks for the help tho almost 1 Year watching Foldables News Leaks Youtube Videos and still cant Decide wich one i should get i only see Samsung Dex everywhere i look and what about ther other Folds no other can other then Huawei?

Don't expect a ton from samsung in reference to major hardware changes. Xiaomi I don't think has a desktop mode to my recollection

Samsung should be almost the same thats why i dont want to get one Xiaomi had Desktop Mode but they removed it what i have seen maybe it will come back.. there is Honor Foldable that has it but i dont like that Phone or the Huawei Fold but its way to Expensive for my liking i will see till August maybe end of October till all the Foldables are out and see what fits my Budget and how Improved they are.
