As of yesterday Foxfi (wifi hotspot) has been blocked on my MetroPCS phone. My guess is that it has to do with Metropcs' T-mobile merger. Foxfi is on, updated, but my wifi hotspot is not being broadcast. I went to update Foxfi via the Google Play store and saw something to the effect of "if you have t-mobile use usb connection). So the app does NOT work with Metropcs/Tmobile now.
Is there a hack for this? My phone is already rooted. I use my lg motion and pdanet+ as a usb tether for my laptop and also as a wifi hotspot with Foxfi for an Android Tablet.
?
Does anyone have have any advice?

Anyone else having intermittent WiFi calling disconnects on T-Mobile? Phone has been rebooted, and it is occurring on multiple networks. Rebooted phone multiple times, no luck. Suspect it's an issue on TMO side, unless it's occurring across multiple carriers. Anyone?
Yes, having the error message often and on different wifi networks too. Frustrating

Having issues with people being able to hear me on WiFi calling on T-Mobile.

I gave up on wifi calling a long time ago. It's never worked correctly for me.
I had the same issue on my G4. Sucks it doesn't work 20% of the time. Does Xposed still break WiFi calling?

I have a locked Tmobile branded V10 which i am using on metro PCS, which WIFI calling was working fine at first, but i was getting an e911 address not set error, but it was still working fine.
When i called metro to check my E911 address i did have an old address set there. I updated it to my new address and now i cant even connect to wifi calling at all anymore, and get various errors.. REG99, ER081, ER082..
but mostly get ER081 error right now.
I dont have a tmobile account to check an E911 address there, so I dont know where the issue is, if its on Tmobile side or MetroPCs..
All i know it was working flawless at first.. but now it cant connect
Anybody know of an app or method to tether of of your cell phones mobile data? I've tried PdaNet+ (FoxFi) and it said i need to activate a AT&T tether plan. Can anybody confirm a working tether app?
Nobody has. Nothing will work until root is achieved.
only got bluetooth tethering to work, which is okay but slow data rates.
Hi Everyone,
Looking to upgrade to the G5 - I'm on Sprint - Before I make the leap, are there any mods out there to enable the native hotspot feature?
Same here. I have wifi tether from the play store and am happy to get foxfi if either work.
If anyone finds a way, they would save me from jumping ship when the new nexus drops
I need/want Wifi tethering
So, just my curiousity, there's no wifi tethering in G5 Sprint? I could share my 3G connection using the native H850 tethering function.
I had root, loved the ability to have the hotspot with xposed, but hated the lag and battery life.
Tried to flash a ROM and got stuck in a bootloop.
Without access to a computer I had to visit a Bestbuy Samsung Experience kiosk to restore my S7.
Unable to root my device again I was immediately upset to find out I couldn't get hotspot again.
I relied on my hotspot because I have the newer unlimited plan with AT&T and DirecTv bundle.
I use my phone as my apartments entire wifi access relying it for my Chromecast, tablets and my game systems.
I felt stuck without it and almost called an internet provider but then I remembered the phone has wifi sharing.
So the Chromecast has an open Wifi signal if it's not connected to wifi itself.
I connect to it with my phone then immediately go to Mobile Hotspot turn it on and then go to the more options and select wifi sharing off.
Which then disconnects from wifi and the only uses the hotspot there for still having the ability to have hotspot I am able to connect the Chromecast to my hotspot and the other devices as well.
The only reason I really wanted/needed root was for this feature so it might help the next or it may have been brought up already.
I am also on the Sept PI2 update.
So as long as you have an open Wifi
(with or without internet access)
you can turn on Mobile Hotspot with wifi sharing on first
then after the Hotspot is activated
you can turn wifi sharing off to keep the Hotspot on.
Again sorry if this has been posted somewhere.
This no longer work with nougat update...
Flash the G930U firmware and hotspot works "right out of the box" with no fixes or tweaks. I can confirm it works as I flashed my G930A to the "U".
